Update: this is definitely the best if the twickenham trio of bbq joints. Staff are quirky but very friendly. Dulce de leche icecream/shake is to die for. Wings excellent. Sweet potato fries great. St louis ribs good. Beans with pulled pork very nice. Avoid the mac and cheese options, and pickles. Update 2: chilli watery, lacking in depth. Corn bowl okay. Slaw good but spicy.

The outside and inside decor look like a really terrible American low-quality food chain and I wasn't excited to try it. But! We had the loveliest waitress, very attentive, very happy to walk through the menu and spot on. The guys had banana milkshakes and I loved that they came with little bright green curly straws - cute to see these manly men with their petite straws. The food was really lovely too. One colleague got the hot dog - it was incredible looking, enormous and slathered with stuff. I did think it would be impossible to eat with your hands, but he proved me wrong. My chicken wrap was really tasty and nicely done, and the fries were delicious - possibly the best I've had in a while. When one friend couldn't finish his sausage platter with mac and cheese, the waitress cheerfully wrapped it up for him so he could carry it away. Nice! The music was terrific, a great mix of old blues. So why oh why is there a big screen telly playing current music videos over the bar, complete with naked writhing women and gangsters? Shut it off - you're ruining the vibe you actually got me to like. Is it cheesy? Yes. But it's supposed to be. And it's good. But shut off that damn tv.

It's a cavernous place that you can't appreciate from the outside, with so much colourful decor splashed onto the walls that you almost need sunglasses. It does the job of making it feel like a fun, upbeat place from the start though. Despite plenty of empty tables they bizarrely seated us right in the furthest back corner, under the wooden staircase that leads up to the toilets. No idea why. But my friend was comfy on the sofa side of the table so I didn't ask to move. I went for a spicy malagueta chicken burger, which is marinated in their special spicy sauce, with avocado, salad and chilli mayo. My mouth was watering at the description and it hit the spot just fine. The flavouring on the chicken was great, though the brioche bun got a little too soggy with the sauce for my liking. Teamed with sweet potato fries (obvs) which were the right amount of crispy and very moreish. My mate seemed similarly happy with her pulled pork burger, and we both finished the healthy portions - possibly because we were nattering away so much as usual that we didn't notice how much we were eating. We decided to move on elsewhere for dessert as it wasn't giving off the kind of vibes that made you want to stay and while away the afternoon there, I'm not sure why. The service wasn't the most on point but perhaps affected by having the table furthest away which made it harder to get attention. It's an OK choice for a meal but there are plenty of other places around Westfield that I'd choose to go back to first.

They even blast country music over the speakers in this decked out wooden interior. I ordered a brisket sandwich that also had sausage. I wasn't going to expect much from a BBQ restaurant in London, but they impressed me. The brisket was juicy and full of a rich smoky flavor. How did they do this way out here?? The sausage was also juicy and had a delightful flavor. If I didn't know any better, this tasted just as good as a BBQ brisket sandwich back in the US. The sandwich came with a pickle spear and some coleslaw. There was a generous amount of brisket on the sandwich, where some US restaurants only give you two slices of brisket and call it good. I was stuffed with just this sandwich, and didn't need any sides.

We also got a regular burger with bacon and cheese and was really tasty with the sauce they used. Our server Domingo was attentive and kind without being overly aggressive. He seemed to always check on us at the right time. The restaurant setting makes me feel like I'm in Texas but with the benefits of a nice view of the river. I'd say this is a fun place to come with a group of friends and take advantage of their specials.

Baby back ribs: not necessarily fall of the bone type of ribs, but if you give it a good tug , some of the meats will slide off its axis. I enjoyed it for what it's worth. Obviously, the smoker is limited in scope , so I'm not expecting Texas style quality. Was a little chewy in some places, but also tender in others. Had a preference for the chiptole bbq sauce rather than the hickory. Fries were mostly good (minus the tiny bits). So close to the meats, the fries absorbed some of the smokiness flavor. Slaw: low-point of the bbq. They used way, way, too much dressing. Like it was flooded. Also the cabbage wasn't cut finely, but presented as whole chunk slices. Would definitely not recommend this one. Overall minus the slaw, I enjoyed Bodean's
