As a single mother of 3 boys, I was very nervous about who to hire for our upcoming move from Carlisle to Harrisburg. I had gotten a few quotes from some of the big name companies and it seemed so expensive to hire movers. Luckily a girl friend of mine at work told me about this company called Moving Made Awesome and that they moved her and her husband last September at a fair cost and that their business was very upfront and honest. I went ahead and gave them a call and was immediately put at ease with the booker who asked about my needs and my furniture to be moved and he was very precise with how their moving process was handled. They gave me an hourly rate that was by far much more affordable than any other company I had talked to. The booker didn't press me to book the job that day, and actually encouraged me to shop around and compare. It didn't take me less then 24 hours to call him back and schedule my moving day. On the day of the move, the crew arrived right on time, did a walk around with me and immediately went to work. What impressed me most was the attention to detail and how they wrapped everything with furniture pads and shrink wrap first before they moved it from my old townhouse. Just like the booker explained over the phone, this would eliminate the chances of scratches and scrapes not only to the furniture itself, but also the walls, hallways and doorways when they carry it out. They even shrink wrapped all of our beds too! The crew chief on the job was very thorough with what to expect and asked many questions about what I needed done. The workers took legs off our dining room table and wrapped the legs separate and also wrapped the table. They even dis-assembled my bed and my boy's beds with ease. It was clear they come well prepared with the right tools and equipment! The crew worked diligently but carefully to ensure the job was done effectively. They packed the truck up in a way that only true professionals could do. Before I knew it they were completely loaded and arrived at my new home in Harrisburg. I should the crew which room was which and they went right to work place furniture neatly in each room as I had requested. They even went ahead and re-assembled the beds, setup the dressers exactly where we needed them and staged each room so I didn't have to lift a finger! They were very efficient with unloading the truck and went the extra mile to make sure they didn't scrape or nudge the walls as they brought stuff in. After the crew brought in the last of our items, the crew chief did one last final walk around with me to make sure everything was exactly where I wanted it and if there was anything else they could move or do for me while they were still there! All in all, for everything they did for me, I was actually shocked at how affordable the bill ended up being. Being new to the area I had to really do my homework when it came time to move again as our previous movers had moved us to Hanover from out of state and did not service this area locally. I found some movers on Craigslist and got a few quotes there. I had a good conversation with the team from Moving Made Awesome, as they sounded professional, seemed very knowledgable and were thorough in explaining their rates and the moving process. I had a good feeling after that conversation so I decided to research the company. There seemed to be mixed reviews on the internet but then I also discovered they had won a few awards for their service so I discredited the bad reviews. What sold me was after my wife went on Angie's List (she has a payed account on there, I don't) and all the great reviews on their site. Knowing that Angie's List is the only true reviews that can be trusted, and I say that because anyone from any company can just log in to yelp or yp.com and create a bad review for a company to bad mouth their competition, those reviews sealed the deal for us. We had a fairly large move, a 3 bedroom house fully furnished with some rather expensive items. After booking the job I received a confirmation email outlining everything that was discussed over the phone. Then the day of the move came and the crew were not only upbeat, eliminating the stress that a move can bring but they were fast, yet careful as well of our belongings and both properties during the move. It turned out to be a long day for them but they didn't complain one bit. My wife decided to order the team pizza and subs mid way through the completion. After it was all said and done the move was finished and our new home was set up and staged to our liking. There were no surprises with the bill, as everything laid out prior to the move remained just the same. My wife and I were so happy with the work they did we tipped the crew each $30 each for their hardwork. My wife and I have used Moving Made Awesome several times now since 2011. The 1st time we used them, it was very easy to book and get a fair price for the move we had to make from Mechanicsburg to Elizabethtown. Their rates were not only reasonable and fair, but the competition just couldn't compare to what they had to offer at the price they had to give. When they first moved us, they went to extreme lengths to protect our items and made it a point to be cautious going through doorways and near the walls. With the hard work of these young men and after 9 non stop hours with little to no breaks we had a successful move. I was surprised at how great the service was for the price we paid. It was like getting the Rolls Royce of Moving at the cost of a Chevy! The owner was really nice as well and followed up with us to make sure the move had gone as planned. We even referred Moving Made Awesome to some friends of ours and they sent us a $20 referral bonus just for putting their name out there. The 2nd time we used Moving Made Awesome was when we had purchased some new furniture from Wolf's Furniture and we needed the items delivered, and our old set sent to Consignment. So I gave Jared a call and he had no problem fitting us in on his busy moving schedule to accommodate our delivery needs. Not only did they delivery our new furniture, but they hauled off the old pieces as well at a great flat rated price. Now just less then a week later, we have moved once again with the help of the great crew from Moving Made Awesome. Once again it was easy to book the move and the day of the move the crew showed up on time and worked hard once again. We even had a few of the same guys back for this move that moved us over a year ago. It almost felt like a reunion and this move just flowed so well, I can't thank them enough! We bought them pizza and subs and gave a lucrative tip after the job was completed in show of appreciation. We recently used Moving Made Awesome to help move us. I am unable to lift anything heavy and I needed the extra muscle. I have to say I was quite impressed with this company. Not only did they give me information upfront in regards to price and valuation options they treated me with respect. Many companies out there are in it to make a quick buck and they forget about the client. They arrived on time. They even called ahead to give me a heads up that they were on their way. Even my cable guy didn't do that. The gentleman that arrived got to work right away. The worked quickly and I was surprised at how much attention they paid to prepping my furniture. The truck was packed in a way only an expert could achieve. The men worked hard all day with little to no breaks. All the while answering any questions I had and being courteous to me and my family. We got moved into our new home and at the end of the day this company truly made our move awesome! By far the BEST movers in York, Pa. We moved from a 3bedroom home into a single family 4 bedroom home. Needless to say we had a lot of boxes, furniture and etc that needed to be moved. These guys worked quickly to get the job done. No milking the clock like some other companies. The workers were polite and had excellent customer service skills. I really liked how everything was explained to be upfront. There were no hidden surprises or costs at the end. the movers did a great job the afternoon before hurricane sandy. it was raining half way into the move and the best place to bring in the furniture was blocked by the holloween parade. everything had to go up to the third floor by a narrow fire escape.they were very pleasant and never complained about the bad conditions that afternoon.they protected all our sons electronic and musical equipment perfect!!! the move was short notice because our son was on vacation and we thought the storm would prevent him from moving that following week. we just sold our home and hope to use the movers again! read more

I'm not sure about the previous poster but my experience with the company was the complete opposite. They showed up on time. Actually came in my home first and padded and shrink wrapped all my item to prevent damage. They were kind, hard working and courteous. Hey, sometimes used items don't fit where you want them. You can't expect a mover to take doors off your appliances for you. If Sears had delivered it and it didn't fit, you'd be looking at a restocking fee. In any event I would tell anyone I know, if you need movers and you can't afford the major van lines go with these guys!!! read more

Moving Made Awesome did an absolutely fantastic job. They showed up right on time and got everything loaded as quickly as possible. There was no damage of any kind and in fact, they took great care. When we arrived at the new destination, they lost no time in getting things unloaded. When they pulled into my drive way I should have told them to turn around and leave. One guy got out of the truck, the other guy was sleeping in the truck. When the 2nd guy finally woke up and started helping, he REEKED of CIGARETTE SMOKE and had an attitude. ( I think he was hung over.) They turned a 5 hour move into a 7 hour move, (cigarette breaks), damaged my dining room table, marks and scratches in the walls, and drove off with our wrought iron plant stand still in the back of their truck.
