The morning after my case settled, I slept better than I had in almost a year. Taking on a huge…read morecorporation had seemed almost futile, and definitely something I couldn't handle alone. From our first call, Alex had already read everything I'd sent him and thought about it. He walked me through the reality of the situation -- what might work, what was unlikely -- and proposed a strategy. The haze around me started to lift, and I knew I was in safe hands. Throughout, Alex kept me up to date, building trust and explaining the strategy behind every move. When things felt terrifying I could confidently press ahead with this unflappable ally -- whether things looked hopeful or harrowing, he was coolheaded at every turn. Alex didn't just win my case. He gave me my life back. If you're reading this, you're probably where I was -- scared, overwhelmed, and not sure if it's even worth the fight. It is. Call Alex. You're going to be okay.

Alex Higgins cannot be recommended highly enough…read more From the moment you meet and talk with him, there is no doubt that you are working with someone who is intelligent, thoughtful and very skilled as a lawyer. He is highly organized and has an astute attention to detail yet doesn't get so lost in the details that he misses the broader picture. I never expected to find myself in a situation where I would need to find a lawyer. I'm not sure anyone really ever does. As a physician, I had no idea where to start and felt completely out of my element, until I met Alex and we reviewed the case. In our initial discussion, I immediately knew that Alex was someone I could trust. He was respectful and professional but also made it very clear he wasn't going to tell me what I wanted to hear. He was able to explain complicated law in a way that I could understand. During our meetings, it was clear that he was listening and had truly taken the time to understand the details. Never did I feel rushed or dismissed. I felt heard and taken care of like I imagine my patients want to be heard and taken care of. As my case progressed, Alex had the insight and professionalism to recommend that I continue my case with a more specialized firm instead of attempting to keep the work for himself and potentially do a lesser job. Regardless, even with the more specialized firm taking over my case, I continued to go back to Alex time and again with questions and concerns. I felt that his judgement and honesty could not be rivaled and it was comforting knowing Alex was still there. Ultimately, Alex and I decided to bring him back onto my case as co-counsel because I trusted his skill and expertise too much to not have him on the case. No one wants to go through this experience, but I feel incredibly lucky to have found Alex. It is in the rough times that the great people show themselves. Alex is one of the great ones out there.

Finally, I got to see a real AP, but then my benefits were denied without any clear reason, only to be approved later. On top of that, I faced employment issues that had me firing off emails like I was in the middle of a war. Throughout this whole ordeal, I can't express enough how grateful I am to Rachel and Caleb for their incredible patience and support. It was a really slow start as they had to gather all the necessary information and analyze it to build a case. But what truly stood out was how Rachel, Caleb, and the entire Emery Reddy team were always there for me, fighting back when I felt completely lost. Thank you, Emery Reddy, and especially Rachel and Caleb--you two are amazing! I can't thank you enough. And just so you know, I wasn't paid to write this review. This is my genuine appreciation for all that you've done.

Abandoned representation at the moment I really needed it with an irrational and contradictory reasoning. Essentially I was only damaged by this experience and my entire medical file and case was open to this firm which I dont feel comfortable with in hindsight. Whatever good work they did before, I would have been better off without them and feel this is a very suspicious outfit. I will have to complain and possibly more.

I had a good experience with this law firm when my husband and I retained an attorney from them…read more She was easy to talk to and took time to explain things. I didn't talk to her as much as my husband did, but I did have two conference call with her and felt that she cared. She not just do it for a living. Some attorneys, like therapists, don't listen to you and make you feel like they care. She was different though, her name was Jo Flannery if you want to request to work with her. Sometimes I feel like people lose patient with me in a professional setting because I am ESL, but Jo would break things down so I could understand everything. So if English is your second language, she could be a good pick for you at this law firm. They have attorneys with different specialty. I needed one for real estate and she knew all the laws very well.

I retained Jo Flannery roughly two months ago. She offered great counsel with a free consultation…read morewhen I first met her. Much of what she told me was done succinctly and in a time efficient manner, but not like she was trying to rush me off the phone. And not as if she was trying to run out the clock either. This pleasant manner in which she spoke persisted even after I retained her for all paid phone consults as well. This detail matters. Here is why. I have retained many attorneys in my life. Some, no matter how much they like or help you, speak to you in a manner that makes you feel like they want to get off the phone with you. That is not the case with Jo Flannery. On the other end of the spectrum, some over explain things during consults that are billed by a timer. Or they speak too slowly. Or I had an insurance attorney at one point that would repeat himself. And while these criticisms sound harsh, time is of the essence when you are billed upwards of $400/$500 an hour. Jo's cadence and delivery of information makes her time worth what she charges while still giving you a feeling that she is speaking with you like a friend who is an attorney would. Communication is excellent. I have had one of the best attorneys out of San Diego that could walk circles around prosecutors, but sometimes he wouldn't get back to you with emails. Sometimes he wouldn't return your call. He was very busy and did have a paralegal, but it was admittingly frustrating at times. That is not the case with Jo. Every email I have sent her was responded to or read and archived if no response was needed. If she is out of the office, an automated reply will tell you so. Knowledge is on point. Some attorneys are very resourceful with statues, laws and penal codes, but off the top of their head, they may not be so quick to have the answers. Not once in the 4+ hours of communication I had with Jo did she say she needed to look into something or research for an answer. Surely there are times she may need to, she isn't a computer. But she certainly is knowledgeable and proficient in law. Her background and experience was very relatable to the services I needed her help with. I was in a situation of needing to work with over half the condo complex I live in to retake the HOA board. She was available to help. Supplied proxy forms, letters and valuable information. She even attended the special meeting she helped us get the prior Board of Directors to schedule after they ignored our initial request. Her availability is excellent. If you work long shifts during the business hours, she will accommodate you to schedule phone consults after hours. She is there for you when you need her. The outcome I was striving for could not have happened without Jo Flannery at Ryan, Swanson & Cleveland. And I owe her much gratitude for what she helped me and over 40 of my neighbors accomplish. I couldn't imagine trying to correspond with the oppositions legal counsel. He was educated on Condo Law to a great degree and it would have been so difficult to win with his representation of the prior board. Which made it all the more satisfying when Jo ended up educating HIM on what he thought he knew everything about. She will win for you. When I first met her, she was honest with me and told me she doesn't have a magic wand or anything. But that doesn't mean what she does for you won't seem magical.
