I understand the policy, but you could literally see my abandoned vehicle from the counter of the Autozone. When I finally got my sister (kids in tow) to help me jump start my car (with her minivan) and get it to Autozone, I asked for the battery to be tested. The guy didn't remember me from an hour earlier when I had asked for help and didn't understand what I needed. Finally, he checked the battery (had only 6-volts) and told me that he'd bet that both the alternator and battery needed to be replaced. He should avoid casinos.

Such a great deal, the best around! Especially because the original prices are $46 and $74. I called to confirm because I was bringing my toddler along and they promised 15 minutes, maybe 30 if they're busy. It ended up taking longer, around 45-1 hour but they were all so kind and nice, I can easily get over the wait. The waiting room is pretty dirty and gross but you can tell they try to keep it clean. It is a mechanic after all. A small pot of coffee sits out nearby a large soda machine. What seemed like a manager told me if I could get more people in for an oil change and they used my name, he'd give me something free like wiper blades. Random but how nice! I'm assuming their productivity is low but not really my problem. The gesture was kind! On top of that, while I was checking out and they did the final inspection, they noticed my brake light was out. It has been for months. The were so nice and willingly replaced my bulb that I bought a few months back. Just one extra step that they didn't have to do but chose to. My oil was changed, filters all checked, windows washed and out the door very happy, which is most important! AND it only cost me $13!

Eddie's shop doesn't look like much from the outside, but the rough exterior hides a gem inside…read more  Eddie and his team stepped in to pinch hit for me where another local shop had utterly failed.  I was already under schedule restraints with a rental, with a relatively straight forward job that got worse as we went on.  They were able to get me on their schedule, work with insurance when it turned into a bigger job than we anticipated, and were able to hit the schedule and budget.  The team spoke with me at all the crossroads but were ready with a suggested decision which is the one I would have made already.  Eddie was straight forward, honest, and laid out all the options I was interested in.  They even offered advice on follow on jobs I had been considering, and were able to run me back to work when I dropped off the car.  Their hours are also actually open wide enough that everyone else with a job can actually get there while they are open.   Prices were reasonable and the work was good.  They even put in extra work getting my car inside every night because they saw my efforts to keep it clean. The only improvement I could make to the shop is loaner car availability, but that is no easy task either. I will be back, thanks guys.

So just know I'm not "one of those" customers. I'm a girl in her 20s, and I used to only trust Monro with my service. I felt great knowing there was a woman working there, it made me feel like I wasn't being ripped off or taken advantage of for being young and ignorant. But I never really spoke to her, I'd only speak to this man who may have been manager/owner or just the primary desk person. He always seemed a bit condescending to me, but I chalked this up to being tired of angry customers mad they have to pay to maintain their car. I really did think I was getting the best service, and I would convince myself my instincts were wrong and maybe I was insecure because I was in a place with experts on something I didn't know much about. It has been 2 years now since I got a new battery from Monro. I had this battery replaced for a pretty penny, and now 2 years later it needed to be replaced again. The technician told me they used a cheap, low quality battery. They fixed it for about 3/4 the price Monro did without me even mentioning what Monro charged. Also, this is funny to admit but I was told during the battery replacement at Monro that my windshield washer pump was going to cost around 300-400 for service and parts. I declined doing this because I only could pay for the battery at the time. 2 years goes by, I finally decide I want my wiper fluid again. This shop charges $200 for install and parts. All the while telling me what codes were read and what they meant. The FARTHEST from condescending. I feel that Monro was taking advantage of the fact I had little knowledge of how to take care of my car and would purposefully ignore issues so they could charge me their base service rate to come back again and add it onto the bill. I don't know if this is a management issue or the mechanics I dealt with specifically, but either way. I'm hoping to save someone the trouble of being over-charged and under-serviced.
