Rob, the tattoo artist listened to what I wanted and drew up a few sketches and told me what was possible and what wasn't. Even when it turned out that I couldn't take pain as well as we'd planned for-turns out I'm a complete wuss-, he did a serious amount of Overtime to get the tattoo done. They told me how to take care of the tattoo afterwards and what ointment to get to help it heal. And talking to some other tattoo-fans after I found out that for the time spent on my tattoo and the amount of detail it was quite possibly the cheapest place. We set up an appointment on Wednesday and got it's on Sunday and they where more than amazing the artwork was great and they wanted us to make sure we like what was on our body forever. Snakebite was awesome I worked with Denise. She did a sketch for me before hand and worked with my idea. Her sketch was incredible, and the Tattoo turned out even better. If you're thinking of getting a piercing, look no further than Stephen in Snakebite. While the actual aesthetic of the establishment may initially raise your eyebrows (think no glitz, no glam, but clean bare minimalism) this is a great business. Stephen was brilliant. He took his time and made sure I was happy with my jewellery, explaining all the pros and cons associated with each type for my piercings. He then brought me into the piercing room, and walked me through the process - the actual piercing and the aftercare. There was plenty of chat, and it certainly helped with my nerves, as I was getting two piercings - a rook and a helix - and I was very jittery. He was gregarious, kind and his has a great booming laugh that just brightens up the room! The piercing was as painless as he could possibly make it, and done with great efficiency and speed. He provided me with an aftercare sheet, and advised me to drop back in after two weeks and he would switch out the piercing - free of charge! - to a smaller piece of jewellery. The care and time taken really astonished me, as I had gone to a different parlour for my anti-tragus piercing and while the piercing healed very well, I did not get as good and comprehensive a service as Snakebite provided. Overall, my rook and helix cost E55.00 and I am not experiencing any severe swelling or pain, which I experienced with my anti-tragus. I cannot recommend Stephen enough. so i've been back twice now. once to get my smiley redone (previous was screwed-up elsewhere), and again today to get a smaller diameter ring put in. i was expecting a 30 second procedure like what i experienced before at the other place. nope. i was there a full half hour or more for the most thorough and well-explained piercing experience of my life. first he patiently had me pull my lip out and slowly back in and out again about a dozen times (him: this is so i can figure out how your particular lip anatomy behaves) after which he sat back and explained dejectedly that there was about a 20% chance that it could be pierced straight. he said he could try his best but there was no guarantee. i said what the hell, go for it. so we did the lip in out thing again (get yer minds out of the gutter!) and he marked it with a toothpick dipped in purple ink (him: this ink is a special kind of ink which is dermaphobic? which means it won't stain your skin). then he showed and explained the pinchy device thingy with the holes in it for the needle to go thru, but then was unable to get that crammed into my tiny little mouth to grasp the tiny tiny bit of flesh in question. so i held my lip out real tight, winced and he freehanded the needle thru. then the ring. then handed me a mirror. ring too big. ball too big. we switched out rings about 3 times (him: we use a canula so we can do this sort of thing without traumatizing the piercing) to get the right size (him: unlike other shops, we stock jewelry in every size instead of every other size so we have a better chance of getting the right fit). finally we were both happy, i paid my €45 and bounced out. fast forward to today, the piercing is healed perfectly, is nicely centered but hanging just a bit low for my liking. went in, saw the same guy who remembered me. told him what a great job he'd done. he told me how nicely i'd healed. we switched out the ring for a smaller size while i got a lesson about the law in europe that doesn't allow fresh piercings to be done with any metal containing nickel and the way the chromium in stainless steel flows in to seal up any nicks or scratches in the metal surface. sorry if you didn't care for all that extraneous info, but i thought it was too fascinating to keep to myself. also, i've had too much coffee. anyway, go there. you'll be happy :) read more

Have gone here a few times. Once when I was 18 to get my lip done and they very kindly talked me out of it. Which I really appreciated. Then back two years ago to get my nose pierced. I think they're brilliant. Any time I need jewellery changed or want to try something new they're so helpful. They answer all my questions. I have only had one experience with these guys, I had a piercing done somewhere else which went wrong, I went there just to get a smaller bar and leave but insisted I wait, brought me in to the other room where someone checked out my piercing, cleaned the wound and changed the bar for me. Which is above and beyond what I'd expect any place to do for me especially somewhere that wasn't even responsible for that mess! These folks are helpful and down to earth, don't be put off by the lack of a shop front on the street, the place is well worth a visit. read more

Absolutely shocking customer service. Went in and had a consultation and paid my deposit for the sketch. 3 weeks later I still had not received a sketch from them and when I enquired about it I was told I could be waiting another month! Decided to take deposit back and was told deposits are non refundable. I had to point out I paid a deposit for a sketch I never received and I was never told it would be such a long wait. They eventually agreed to give me back my deposit and I had my tattoo done within 2 weeks in a more professional parlour. My advice would be to avoid unless you don't mind waiting months until they can be bothered to fit you in. read more

Very professional experience! I went in to get my tongue pieced (I was insanely nervous) and they checked what I had eaten that day and lucky they did because I hadn't eaten enough, so I had to go out, get lunch and then get the piercing. I think he could tell how nervous I was cause he was super calming and so nice like I relaxed so much and what helped loads- they have a 24 hour hotline if you have a piercing problem a few days later! I was more nervous about the after care than the piercing itself but I came back about 2 weeks later and he changed the bar for me no problem, for free! It honestly was the best and the pricing is very decent for the service you get! The piercing room was clean and he wore gloves the whole time, always explaining what he was doing and what he was about to do, I highly recommend it read more

I went in a few days ago to buy a new navel ring and the staff was incredibly helpful. The man primarily helping me noticed that my piercing was swollen and would need some more healing time before I changed it. He even took me into the piercing room (which looked as clean and professional as a doctor's office) and spent twenty minutes on making sure my piercing was healing properly. He was very knowledgeable and didn't suggest I buy anything because he said what I had was sufficient. He didn't even accept a tip! You can definitely trust these guys to know what they're doing and to give you what you want. They're in this for more than just the money! read more

Great! It was my first time at a piercing shot ever and I was on holiday with a friend, but I wanted so much to have my eyebrow pierced that I had to take a look at what is said to be the best studio in Dublin. Stephen was absolutely lovely and professional: he put me at ease and described me every step during the procedure, to let me know why and when he was doing something, and how to take care of the piercing later. I barely felt the sting at all, after that he also gave me written instruction for the after-care and he made himself willing to contact him if there would have been any problem. If I could give six or seven stars I would, this place is phenomenal. I've gotten most of my piercings from Stephen, who I constantly tell people is the best piercer in Dublin and I have to say the level of personal customer service you receive rivals even the most thorough of doctors and dentists. He expalins every single step of the process, before during and after the piercing and is happy to answer any and all questions, no matter how silly, all the while chatting away to you and making you feel at ease. I have, I admit, gone to another piercing studio, and I was appalled at their lack of customer service and how impersonal and unprofessional they were. I severely regret going there and all the while I was comparing it to Snakebite. Stephen even has a 24/7 emergency helpline that you can all if you have a problem and always encourages you to come back to the shop if you need a jewelry change or if something just isn't sitting right. And to everyone saying prices are high, all I have to say is that you get what you pay for and I 100% think that they're worth every penny. I wouldn't go near this place personally. I can't believe its still going. I got a piercing here once, it wasn't the place I normally went. I had over 30 at the time. My friend wanted to get one so asked if he could watch to make up his mind. The guy who pierced my ear made such a mess of it my friend was horrified and would never get one after. I went home covered in blood, all over my shirt, all down my back. It was so painful. The way my friend described it was he couldn't get the bar in so decided to force it in. Of course it got infected and I went back a few weeks later to have them remove it. The owner screamed at me that it was my own fault because I didn't know how to take care of it (after 30+ piercings). Not the fact that his staff butchered me. I walked out and went to the place I normally went. They were horrified at what they saw in my ear and removed it straight away without even stopping to talk. They asked me why I ever went to Snakebite, and tbh I'm really not sure. Never again. read more

First found them on yelp then follow it up with their Facebook pages including artists and their ink work. Go look at Sean's page and you will understand why we selected him. He went out of his way to make sure our designs were what we wanted, where we wanted them, and when we wanted them. Reasonable pricing but that is not my first concern when getting a tattoo. I've been to Snakebite for two piercings and one tattoo, my tattoo was very basic but it turned out great and when a coloured part didn't take they were happy to top it up for me (probably my fault for scratching it in my sleep or something). This place is great! Not only is their work outstanding, but they are beyond helpful. They walk you through the process, give suggestions and possibility for the piece, and answer any and all questions you may have. They are friendly and extremely competent in their work. They even let me stop by early so I would be first in the queue because I mentioned I was visiting and it was my only free day. I went here a year ago for a tattoo. The tattoo was fine but I feel i was ripped off, I was charged 130 for a line of writing on my arm. I had a tattoo done at a place in mullingar that was much larger and covered the whole of my upper arm and it only cost 120 to do so i cant understand why they would have charged me more for a considerably smaller job. I feel the girl at the desk just made up a random price. I felt foolish afterwards for paying so much for so little. They dont give you value for your money. read more
