They have very few scheduled classes for you to come and they're all during midday or after work hours so there's no early morning classes if that's something you're looking for for your health journey as far as equipment goes it's pretty regular not too old but not anything new. They do have a small steam room, which I enjoy. They do offer personal training, but it is extremely expensive and I did feel like I had to work with their schedule versus them being able to work with mine so it ended up being very inconvenient for me. They have also changed management and location personnel and I think that's made a big difference in a positive way so if you are in the downtown area and they fit your needs, give them a try but overall they just really didn't fit my needs.

I have noticed the customer service start getting horribly bad for the last three years at the…read morePARKWAY EAST LOCATION. I've been a customer of this location for close to 20 years. The following are areas of customer service that they're failing in: 1. They stopped greeting customers when you walk in the gym. 2. They don't even acknowledge you when you walk in, they're either texting on their personal phones or just ignore you. . It makes you feel unwanted or a disturbance. 3. They turn the ceiling fans off at 9:40 pm . They DON'T CARE if club members are working out on the treadmill. They cutoff the air circulation to force customers to stop working out and go home. 4. They have hired a night manager with braids who thinks he can treat club members anyway without any accountability. He has anger issues. 5. He's the one turning off the ceilings fans 20 minutes before closing time. 6. He shouts at club members to leave the gym 5 minutes before closing time. 6.He turns on that annoying alarm 10 minutes before closing continuously. ITS VERY ANNOYING. 7. He's way to communicate with club members is through intimidation. He actually thinks club members are scared of him. LOL I have complained using their feedback. My efforts to complain have been futile. A different manager called and assured me that they will make improvements and things will change. He's assurance was not accurate cause nothing has changed, things have even gotten worse. What seems like retaliation for reporting. Since nothing can be done, I'm advising my relatives and friends to use the store in VESTAVIA they have excellent customer service and they don't treat club members like the aforementioned. The most that was there at one time was on Wednesday, about 12 or so people. Not sure if that is indicative of usual Wednesdays, but I thought I would mention it. I would say that the most members that should be in there is about 12 due to the space, especially if the workout involves barbell work. Drop in rates for multiple days seemed pretty reasonable - $45 for 3 days. I expected that it would be $20/day. Also they are pretty active on Facebook which is always a plus for me. When I was researching crossfit gyms in the area I sent them a message on Facebook and they responded. Even while I was already in Birmingham they responded to messages. Just to give you an idea of the WODs I did while was there: Heavy Diane - deadlift 275# and headstand push-ups (of course I did scaled version) EMOM 9 burpees for 20min - if you do less than 10 rounds = 50 penalty burpees; 11-14 rounds = 30 penalty burpees; 15+ rounds = no penalty Overall great place to workout, the only concern would be space if there was a lot of people coming in. And maybe I did not see it on their site, but some kind of online sign in would be even better so you could see how many people would be at the class.

They mentioned it's one of their tougher classes. Booked through ClassPass, but they offer a free first class. The instructor was nice and helpful, but you'll probably need a few classes to feel fully comfortable. I had a couple moments where I felt soooo lost, but I made it through.
