I walked in and found some older but very well maintained equipment, tons of weights (I think the owner, Bryan, said 10,000lbs?) there's the big tires outside if you want to go that route, power lifter equipment I can't even name... this looks like a place rocky would train. It's small, but honestly didn't feel too crowded, because everyone was incredibly nice and it was very easy to work in with them, just asked and they were super accommodating. I went in, lifted heavy, and walked out with a smile. Ambiance aside, Bryan was EXTREMELY reasonable on price. I'm not gonna say how much, I think that should be up to the business owner, but I will say it's a fraction of the cost even a prorated membership at anytime fitness would have been (and they wouldn't prorate it) for the ten days I am in Fremont. If you are deciding on a gym in the area for a temporary or full time stop, I HIGHLY recommend this facility. There's a true love of strength and good old fashioned iron -it's a vibe that's hard to find in these days of chain fitness spots. Keep on keepin' on iron core! Love the space!

My regular readers know i am a stingy old scrooge when it comes to five star ratings. Impress me…read more Zephyr's Fitness has earned its stripes in my opinion. Here is why: Before heading over to Northern Ohio i did A-LOT of research on gyms. Cooked them all down into two possibilities. One near the office up by Cleveland and one near Orville OH. All of the others are weight loss focused. Not weight training. Think squat racks, deadlifts, weights crashing, and soaked shirts. I better stop there before i digress into something not suitable for those with weak hearts and young children. Let's talk about the owner. To know the owner is to know the gym. This is a man with a solid physic, quite demeanor, with a deep well of determination and focus. He is an integral member of the community from what i can tell. The kind of person everyone should have in there life for all sorts of good reasons. He is often present. Either working out himself or getting to know his members. Often both simultaneously from what i have noticed. Be prepared for him to introduce himself at some point. Maybe you can beat him to it and introduce yourself. So good friendly energy at this gym. The gym is carved up into a few different areas. The main gyms is surrounded by a track for laps or to walk off stiff muscles. The middle is halved by an area that is often used to push or drag weights, lunges and other exercises that requires some room to roam. The front section isolation machines and cardio machines. All new and in great shape. Minimal duplicate machines are available if it gets busy but so far it has not been an issue. The second half is free-weights. With three squat racks, hack squat, small leg press, two smith machines, six assorted bench presses. and other equipment. Lots of action in this area. It is open and welcoming without feeling like your on display. The "Jungle" is a walled off area behind a large industrial but windowed garage door. This area is for those on a mission. The chalk can be found here. Along with loud noises, heavy weight, and worn machines. Each has likely seen a lot of blood,sweat and tears offered up on there alters over the years. The section next to it has a warmup area, at least that how i use it. Stretching, some machines, some tired jump-ropes, bands and so on. Next to this area is the cross fit area. This is in effect another whole building to which i will have to defer to someone who knows it better than I. The gym has a good sound system that plays some decent 80's. There are nooks to store your stuff. Lockers are available but i am not sure how that all works. The front desk is staffed M-F. But weekend coverage is iffy at best. BUT and this is a big BUT, is the doors are locked and you cannot get in without a token. You only get a token if your monthly member. So what about us daily folks you ask. We are F@%$!. Yep, say a prayer and hope someone see's you awkwardly pressing your face up against the one-way glass from the outside. Wave and knock and make all kinds of motions. That's what i do. I try and make it totally awkward for everyone inside trying there best not to see or acknowledge me. It really gets fun when a member comes walking around the corner and beeps in. It must be pretty funny for those driving by as well. I try and put on a good show. Waiting for the police to show up to haul me off. So a word of warning... you may not want to gulp down your pre-workout until you know you can get in if your a daily like me. So call and make sure. Sometime the phone lines go straight to VM on Saturday. Sunday nobody is there to let you in. Once your in you can pay the 10 bucks. But getting through those doors is a craps shoot on the weekend at least. Given the limited options for those committed to training, Zephyr's is a keeper. Worthy of my 30 minute commute each way to partake in its offerings.

I'm visiting home but I needed a solid Gym to attend while I was in the area. I tried PF which is a…read moregood place for socializing and plenty of cardio equipment but I was looking for more of a Gym that felt like a Gym. Health & Strength is a massive area with multiple rooms. They have all of the equipment you need to get a great workout. This was my 2nd visit and it's never been overly busy and I always get a chance to do Tri-Sets and Quad-Sets on any machine that I choose. It doesn't have any silly rules that make you feel unwanted(if you're a guy who likes to lift heavy and get some solid work in). I was recommended to this Gym by a friend after being recommended another Gym by multiple friends. I tried the other Gym and was unpleased but when I came here I felt right at home and got to work. If you're in the area and looking for a solid place to lift heavy and have plenty of options then try out this Gym! I give it a a Rating of 4.5/5. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 is because I couldn't find a solid flat bench to attempt some extraordinary work but nonetheless, it's solid!!

When I first started there I was in a size 42-44 men's for the first time in 30yrs I was able to buy a size 38 pants . This is my current gym. Much better than the other local offerings. It has a reasonable price, and…read morea huge variety of equipment. This was traditionally a "meat head" gym, but has started shifting more towards fitness center. It has everything one can need, incline/decline/flat benches, barbells with plenty of weight, dumbbells to 200 pounds, squat racks, every leg machine, ab machines, even a neck machine. Check out the images, you can see about 90% of what they have from them- notice the edges, a large place and hard to squeeze everything in, so some stuff is partially cut off. You'll also notice the facility in the rear, which is the best place for squats and deadlifts. The squat rack in the main section is not conducive for most serious squatters.
