It cost $99. First was wagu croquette, basically a crumbed mushy puree, then salty and pepper squid, which was okay, then overcooked whiting dripping in grease, a mediocre salad of winter vegetables, some chips and overcooked roast potato portions. Also a small plate of sliced wagu to share. No desserts, no cheeses, no coffee, no choices. And there goes $99 Per person. Having said that the service was good. If it did not have the beachfront location you wouldn't bother.

While it is pretty casual inside the food is much more than you might expect from what looks like a shack on the beach. We enjoyed the fish of the day, grilled served with a few chips and salad. We also shared a tomato salad entree and some bread. Food was fresh, high quality and perfectly prepared. Portions were very reasonable - this is not a place where you need to order an appetizer instead of a main course to avoid over eating. Service was very warm and welcoming and you just can't beat the view. If you want to eat inside away from the heat, advance reservations are essential. Recommended.

Imagine my surprise at finding good curry, at honest prices in a combined curry & fish & chippery opposite the stunning Aldinga beach cliffs. The cafe is clean & bright with a welcoming vibe. Tables are neatly set and floor to ceiling windows face the Esplanade. Friendly service includes a basket of poppadoms warm & crisp to keep the hunger pangs at bay while waiting for your chosen goodies. Sandy feet are welcome, like the boys by the window making short work of a newspaper parcel full of minimum chips. Soon we are brought with a smile a groaning-full & heavy bag of neatly wrapped foil bag parcels and large containers with change from $30. The hardest part is smelling the spicy aromas as we trundle the few kilometres along the Esplanade to enjoy our feast on sparkling Port Willunga beach. The rich, cheesy & spicy tandoori-flavoured 'Vindaloo naan' is indulgent. Curry puffs are handmade and unique thanks to the black pepper sprinkle on the outside and mint chutney for dipping. Ditto the fresh vege korma with bright hits of cardamon, medium chili bite, and sauce of ground cashew. Rich dal makhani mopped up with wholemeal roti and saffron rice work too. For a cheap as chips curry feast in a priceless location - it's Aldinga Bay Cafe for the win!

Nothing too hard for this family run Indian restaurant on the foreshore at Aldinga Beach. We will defiantly call in and try their breakfast and lunch menus
