I've shopped at Snappy's pretty often since about 1999, have bought something from just about every department there in that time. Something I've noticed is really consistent about the service there is that they listen to what I came in for, not an opportunity to sell me a bunch of stuff I don't need. That's awesome--and unfortunately rate these days--but since it is, it keeps bringing me back. Everybody I've worked with there has been super helpful, and either very informative or honest enough to ask somebody else who is. I have had one return and one exchange since 1999, they were very reasonable and fair in both cases. I find a lot of great alternatives to brands others carry in the area and many times I find some really neat, hard-to-find something or other I hadn't planned on when browsing. A few things I've noticed is that I'd like to see more disc golf, airsoft and paintball options, and maybe a little more stuff for outdoor sports with dogs if possible. They don't carry much for archery nor mountaineering/climbing/caving, but there are specialty shops near enough for that, it makes sense not to, really. They do have tons of information about local licensure and can get you sorted out if you're new to or visiting the area. If you have some time, go check out the back pond, too. I was born & raised in Montana, and I've been shopping at Snappy's for over 30 years now. Over the years, I've always been able to get pretty much EVERYTHING I've needed at this store for fishing & enjoying the great outdoors in Montana!! The prices are comparable to any place in Montana, but the quality of their merchandise & people serving customers at this store are absolutely the very best of any other place I've ever been in Montana and THAT IS WHY I've been coming to Snappy's for over 30 years now & why I will continue to shop at Snappy's!! I've also ordered merchandise many times over the phone from Snappy's, for fishing, hunting, etc. because Snappy's was the ONLY place that had those items that I needed. I just ordered & paid for ice-fishing merchandise over the phone this last winter, at Snappy's because they were the ONLY store in Montana, Idaho & Washington that had the ice-fishing poles & ice auger that I needed, and the people at Snappy's kept my merchandise for two weeks until I was able to get there to go ice-fishing in Montana. I Love this store!! The people at this store are very knowledgeable about fishing in Montana, and they have always been great at informing me where to go & what to use while fishing in Montana to be successful. The men & women at this store have ALWAYS treated me with respect & tried to be as helpful as they could to make sure my experience at this store was great & it ALWAYS has been!! read more

I looked all over town for football cleats for my son. Stores either had nothing, very little selection, or I couldn't find anyone to help me! I refuse to do business in a store with shitty customer service! I just recently moved to the area, so I had no idea where else to go! Finally, I googled sporting goods stores on my phone & Snappy's came up, so I checked it out! The first thing that impressed me was the customer service! I was welcomed right away & they told me right where to find what I was looking for. They had a better selection of cleats than any other store I had visited that day. The employee found us the right size, right away & off we went. He wasted no time! I stopped in the fishing departmemt on the way out. Great selection, great prices! Picked up a few things & we were out the door! It might not be the newest store in town, but they have everything you need for whatever you're into at great prices & the customer service is BY FAR the best I've seen! If you're an athletic, outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping family like us, there isn't any better place in the state to get your gear! read more

I was in Kalispell for most of the summer 2021 on business and some pleasure. I needed a fishing license and was told SNAPPY'S was the place to go. When I walked in I was greeted and asked if there was anything they could help me find. As I was heading back towards the Fishing Dept. area I got sidetracked with the size of the store and the large variety of clothes, camping gear, and sporting goods that continued down stairs. Again I was asked if I needed help. "Just looking" I replied. Back up stairs I wondered about from area to area noticing the selections, quality, and pricing on most everything. I checked out the sale items of course, and bought a monocular for my fishing trip. I went back to get a fishing licenses and was really impressed by the volume of all things fishing. A lady soon helped me get my license and told me because it was Fathers Day there was no charge. Then we visited a short spell and she suggested I check out the outside area with the fish pond and sub-level viewing area. Wow was that cool. Looking forward to my return trip this summer. I've been to Snappy's a lot why??? cuz I FISH yep that's right !!! And when my Baby calls me up and tells me they have our Vexilar and to hurry up and go get it I say ok. I called and spoked to Ross and told him Blake was just there and i needed to get down there right away and get this fish finder Ross was like ok sure I have one left. I said I'm on my way put my name down Debbie. It was 530 and ya all close at 6 I'll tell ya what I'm surprised I didn't get a ticket that night i was doing Mock one in a hailstorm on windy night lol. Ross no worries I'm here don't rush it'll be ok. I got to the store and as soon as i walked around the corner he knew who I was hahahah. Ross was like oh now I know who you are lol. Snappy's didn't use to be my first place to look, but now it always is. The selection, employee's knowledge, and competitive price is really as good as can be found anywhere. For example, ask about a fishing fly, line type, or lure, and you will get a factual comparison and what is working and on what water in the area. These guys really know their stuff and are willing to actually serve and care for you instead of just wait on you like you get in the box stores. Selection on fishing and hunting supplies is excellent and priced extremely competitively - sometimes a few cents more and at times a few cents less, but always competitive. Selection on shoes and boots is great, a little limited on some of the clothes - but no place can be everything to everyone. Another plus is that the company dollars stay in the valley which is not like the corporate stores and that should mean something to everyone who lives here. If you have not stopped in here before I would encourage you to give them an honest try. read more

I always love how clean and organized Snappy's is. You are greeted by a helpful person when you come through the front door. When I search for a product, the department is appropriately staffed with someone that knows their stuff. They carry the proper seasonal products for the area that we live in and not garbage that you would only use from the Midwest. About 4 years ago, I went to train how to be an employee for a new, and large sporting goods store. They bad mouthed Snappy's, or Snippys as they continued to call it, for being small and a nobody. This was a massive turn off to me, as I know how much Snappy's cares about the community, professionalism, and a heart for the outdoors. You could say it is in their nature, but I don't have to. Snappy's has stood the test of time based on how they do business. Thank you Snappy's for holding a higher standard than that of the giant sporting goods outfitters, whatever their names are now. read more

I have shopped at snappy's for over 24 years. i buy all my guns there as they are the most helpful and knowledgeable about what i am wanting to purchase and i do kick tires and shop around. the fishing department rocks!!! no one else has a local fishing report... they are excited to see me walk in the door to hear the latest fishing story and share any tips that might help my next story. thay have great classes that i have enjoyed over the years and got a lot of useful information out of. they carry local lures that work on Montana fish... you can not get these at Cabelas??? cabelas does not even carry "doe in heat" scent???? why go to several different stores and waist time and gas when you can stop at one store that rocks! i f you can not get customer service maybe you should be polite and ask them for some, if you act like you know it all you may not learn any thing. read more

Snappy's is the best sports store in the valley compared to the other stores like the chain stores snappy's as a head and shoulder above everybody else unlike the big chain stores like Cabela's that are a pain to deal with snappy's made it really easy and they're super friendly people they don't judge you on anything like color or race they provide an excellent service they wait on who ever comes first unlike Cabela's that serves their kind of people first then they go to the minority people I bought a $2500 shotgun from unfortunately Cabela's and that was the worst experience of my life they build you yeah they just continue and they gave me the stink eye but that snap is the gun counter personnel come to the other side of the counter and actually help You instead of standing behind the counter like Cabela's don't ever go to Cabela's read more

There are few places in the lower 48 that gives us and our visitors outdoor opportunities like we have here in the Flathead. I always send visitors and family to Snappy's to get their gear and clothes because I know they will be taken care of by local outdoor professionals. As is often the case, the big boxes just don't have the attention to detail and experience level of our Snappy's folks. Also Snappy's plays and pays it forward in the community hosting a multitude of training, certification courses and children activities along with providing a public meeting place for many of our non-profit outdoor organizations. I went in to Snappy's to ask about a Montana State recreational permit that I have looked on-line for, went to other stores to find, and finally found at Snappy's. We asked the first person who waited on us and they didn't know about it but they went and asked two other people. They didn't stop until I think his name was John knew the answer. It is a special permit needed to recreate on State land for things like cross country skiing, or hunting and is needed but very few people get. It is good for a year and has to be renewed every March 1st. I am thankful for them as I always want to be legal and pay my fair share for the wilderness that Montana provides. Love the knowledgeable staff, maps, fishing gear, and availability of spot-on fishing reports. I suppose I can understand the extra value we appreciate with current staff comes with a higher sticker price on the merchandise, although if there was any room for improvement that would be my suggestion. I hope though, that cost is directed into righteous pockets, as your staff deserve to not even need to consider what the bigger box stores may be paying for a lot less knowledge and customer service skill. If prices and customer service don't compete, neither should salaries. Snappy's is a local institution. So much better than corporate chain stores. The staff is genuine, knowledgeable, friendly and so helpful. When I bought a kayak this summer they were cheerful and nice as they loaded it in and made sure it was secure in my truck. When you browse the store, you don't have obnoxious sales staff hovering over you and pushing you to buy now! On the other hand, when you have questions or need help, you don't need to fire a flare gun to get assistance or attention. The prices are better than the other local sportsman's shop, and compatible with the new chain store. I would recommend this store as a first stop for any outdoor needs. read more

I've lived in this valley 24 years and so consider myself to have seen Snappy's treatment of people on MANY OCCASIONS. I bought my first set of snow boots from them in 1993, I bought my first 2 rifles from them and I've taken all my grandchildren there to buy their first fishing poles, etc, etc, etc. They try hard to please everyone, just like any smart store and we all know that some people are just not pleased ..... ever, no matter what you do. Come on people! Go to Snappy's and enjoy yourself. They have a lot of cool stuff and will gladly talk about anything you feel like talking about. Snappy's is an extremely friendly store with outstanding service in each department. I mainly am interested in fishing. They have a good supply of seasonal gear-right now it is the start up of ice fishing. They have free seminars showing the latest equipment and the newest techniques using a large room they built for sporting seminars and community music presentations-all free. They have all this year's augers, ice houses, ice poles/reels, and winter clothing out for you to see and feel. They always are knowledgeable of the regulations and willing to share likely "hot spots". They let you know they want and appreciate your business. read more

Every time I have visited Snappy's I get a very welcoming greeting at the door. They have a really good fishing department with knowledgeable staff to help make the right selections. Went in to check out the gun department and spoke with a young man who was very helpful and answered my questions without looking at me like I was an idiot. That DID happen to me once in the gun department a few years ago when the dept. was in the front area. I didn't go back for a while. They have a pretty good selection of most items and it seems it keeps getting better. I also like the Friday fishing report - it's really helpful. read more

I was looking for a Leatherman combination tool. I was surprised at how many models were available in the showcase. I asked for help and the saleslady brought out a couple of the models that were designed for handyman/home improvement. She explained the differences, features, and benefits of each. She showed me that it had better construction and safety features. I decided to go with the slightly more expensive Wave model. She also explained what the more expensive models were designed for, mostly for survival settings. Those did not match my needs. The sales people are friendly and very helpful. read more

We love Snappy's! This is a classic, real, sporting goods store - not a box store where employees are disinterested in customers. Snappy's staff is always friendly, helpful, and they usually have good stories, too! They have excellent camping and fishing gear. There is a quality selection of clothing, and I have found great ladies' swimsuits there. We buy our fishing and hunting licenses at Snappy's. We are happy with the selection of firearms and accessories, too. It's easily accessible for visitors traveling to the Flathead Valley, Flathead River, and Glacier Park.
