I even texted -- my message was read, but no one replied. By morning, after my dad had endured the entire night in pain and without sleep, I called again and was told we could retrieve the car. When my mom arrived, things got even worse. There wasn't even an office -- just a girl who came outside and asked for her ID. When my mom explained that her husband hadn't slept all night because his medication was locked in the car, the girl looked her straight in the face and said, "I don't care." That was her exact response -- no empathy, no professionalism, no basic human decency. To make matters worse, the car had scratch almond size that weren't there before, and they took no responsibility, even after my mom pointed it out right there. Multiple times. Even when I was still at the hospital. When I finally found the lot the next morning, he kept me waiting outside a locked gate, then told me on a call that he had me "on speaker," mocking me while I cried to my mother in what I thought was a private conversation. When he showed up, I asked a simple question, and he told me, quote: "In all my 8 years, I ain't never dealt with no ghetto bitch." When I told him I'm a 52-year-old woman, he said I sounded like a "52-year-old child," pushed the gate into me to keep me out, and threatened to have me arrested for trespassing and assault -- for standing outside his own business waiting to get my things. I never touched him. I never cursed at him. The only thing I said was that his behavior was racist. His response was to threaten a false police report on the spot. When officers arrived, one told me flat out, "Don't talk to me, you talk to him." No report was filed against him. No accountability. Just a Black woman in pain, standing outside a gate, being talked to like she didn't matter. If you are a person of color, be careful with this company. If you're anyone at all, be careful with this company. This is not how you treat a customer -- let alone one who was just in an accident and is trying to get her own property back.
