Parking is easy, and the place to check in to get cartons is obvious at first glance. The bushes were loaded with berries with plenty of ready, large blue ones. We had no problem filling cartons to the brim. They charge by the pound though so be aware that you can fill the cartons as high or low as you wish. The bushes were spades well and had berries that could be reached by toddlers and adults alike. They also had a variety of jams available for purchase. We made sure to get some blueberry, of course. Overall, I loved the experience. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would certainly return!

Only being 15 to 30 minutes outside of the city (depending on where you're coming from), it's the closest and easiest to get to. This is a no frills orchard: pay for what you want to pick (for 1/2 a bushel it was $25), mostly the trees are macs and corts, you can walk right into the orchard or get a tractor ride down to other trees on the weekends, there's real apple cider available for sale (half gallon was $5), maybe some gourds in a pile. Easy peasy. If you were looking to make apple picking a quick part of your day and not a full on event, Randall Orchards is exactly what you're looking for. (SIDE NOTE: They love and respect others local farmers and other orchards in southern Maine; we appreciated having a heart to heart with an employee about some of the unfortunate closures that happened this year.)

I found the strawberry patch easily with their directions and some very helpful employees gave me the rundown on how to pick. I grabbed my pint container and set to work in my row, and within 15 minutes I had filled it with super sweet, perfectly ripe berries. The price was fair, and I ended up making some delicious jam with my haul! I know strawb season is over now but next year I will be back!

The orchard grows a ton of different apple varieties so there's good picking during the full apple season. We got to choose between Zestar and Jerseymac apples during our visit. I'm a big fan of crisp and tart so the Zestars fit the bill. Peach picking was a bit of the same only fewer varieties. Raspberry picking was a fun new experience. You're essentially hunting and the fruit that is ready to be picked will slide off their cone-like cores. Since it was early in the season most of the berries were small or immature and there were a ton of bees buzzing around. I mean a ton where you'd go to pick and they would be buzzing around your hand. Don't worry though! The bees are friendly and indifferent to your picking the fruit. Just be gentle. Pro tip: come on a day where there's a breeze. We went on a still day in August and it was hot! 90 minutes in the sun and we were feeling pretty crunchy.

Also, the workers are not intrusive or follow you around. They allow you the time to look around, and they offer their help when it is appropriate. Their trees run for about $35-$55 depending on the size. If you don't find what you see in the ones that are displayed, they also have a variety of other trees spread out throughout the facility that they are willing to show. Overall, this is a great spot to get your next Christmas tree, kissing ball, or other holiday needs!

When we found this, we found a cute little stand that sold bags of apples and pumpkins and and some neat little decorative fall items and then they directed us to the orchards. We then went to the orchards and found a few things that we LOVED about this place. It was cozy, and not as busy and the trees were STOCKED full of delicious apples (honeycrisp for us) and a small little toy train taking people on rides around and just had a small orchard and cozy town feel. We loved it here and the people that worked here where the guy at the front desk of the shack said "Ok, I have two rules .... you over fill this bag with as many apples as you can fit into it and two, eat as many as you can while you are picking" This is different from the other orchard where they weigh your bag and then charge you accordingly where here it is a flat rate for the size of the bag. We loved it and will be back again apple picking season next year.

They have a cute little train (tractor and mini wagons) for the kids or young at heart. They also have an apple sling shot, which I'm shocked I've. Ever seen this before because it was very fun. The pick your own is a bit over the hill from their farm stand which can be confusing, but the farm stand is worth stopping at for the donuts and cider. They make the cider and it's one of the better ciders I've had in a long time. Also, it's dog friendly, which weirdly many places are not.
