It's on the small side but has gorgeous produce grown and picked or other goods baked or created by the people who sell them to you. I bought a couple of gorgeous apples whose name I forget, but the one I just ate was fabulous and I wish I'd bought more. I was tempted to drive back, but resisted because thunder and heavy rain was predicted, though it didn't materialize. We bought some garlic herb goat cheese from Four Hearts Farm and a blueberry scone from another stall. The baker of the scones also had pies and breads, more sweet than savory, muffins and other assorted baked goods. We admired some stunningly gorgeous plum tomatoes and I wish we'd bought them. Finally, we bought some white nectarines, so far superior to the ones at Hanaford as to seem like another species entirely. It was a marvelous farmers' market w/ other produce we didn't buy because we're not home and can't use it, like eggplant and other vegetables. Alan just ate one of the nectarines and pronounced it juicy and delicious. "I took a bath in it!", he said.

On a recent hunt for a Christmas tree, my family and I came here to see what they offered. They had an abundance of Christmas trees that were full and smelled perfectly. Also, the workers are not intrusive or follow you around. They allow you the time to look around, and they offer their help when it is appropriate. Their trees run for about $35-$55 depending on the size. If you don't find what you see in the ones that are displayed, they also have a variety of other trees spread out throughout the facility that they are willing to show. Overall, this is a great spot to get your next Christmas tree, kissing ball, or other holiday needs!

Here you can usually find what you need for your produce needs between two to three vendors that primarily do produce. Since it's small you don't always have the most choice to "shop around" on costs, but it's all fresh! Other tents have gourmet jams, loose leaf tea, breads/baked goods, pasta sauce and maple products, meat, beauty products/soap and fresh cut flowers among other things you can usually find as well. One thing that I can't find here that disappoints me is any delicious local cheese or other dairy products so don't count on finding that. Bottom line: worth stopping by to support local and get some good stuff!

It's…read moreoff to California, then back again to Maine" (Kingston Trio) While sightseeing in the area, we were lucky to discover and visit the Kennebunk Farmer's Market, located in a municipal lot near 1 Garden Street. What an excellent time we had. While chatting with their 30 or so vendors, we both remarked how downright friendly everyone was! They were welcoming, charming, conversational and just plain nice to be around. Their vendors sold a variety of vegetables, herbs, flowers, fruit, cider, meats and poultry, teas, soap and skincare items, maple syrup, jams, cookies, pastries, granola, mushrooms, blueberry wine, almond milk, pickles, relishes, CBD infused seltzers, and Columbian street food. Pretty excellent lineup, don't you agree? We made purchases from three of the friendliest vendors we ever met. We started with a lemon and orange-cranberry cookie and a whoopie pie from the 3 Sisters bakery, a jar of Habanero Salsa from Cassie's Cabinet, and a can of Blueberry wine from Bluet. The market has a special feature we've never seen in the dozens of farmer's markets we've visited over the years, and we are grateful to the gent from Cassie's Cabinet for telling us about it. Every vendor at the market has a roll of tickets over their canopy, and whenever a customer buys something, well... you get a ticket. There is a prize board on the grounds with a list of the pre-selected winning numbers, so you simply check the board after your final purchase and see if you have one of the winning tickets. Winners get a gift certificate! None of our three tickets was a winner, but it was still plenty of fun to play along. We had a wonderful visit.
