* AWFUL EXPERIENCE * *REVIEW WILL STAY UP UNTIL THIS IS RESOLVED* I usually don't write reviews, but this time I had to. This goes for all the managers working at the Jimmy Jazz at North Riverside, IL. Names listed- MALCOLM SHONDA SHELBY EELIYAH On 12/30 I went to the mall to wait in line for a pair of left over Jordan 1 "Patent Bred" (555088-063). After waiting in line for two hours, they make you GUESS A SIZE on a piece of paper they write down. Instead of them letting us pick a random piece of paper they wrote down, they made us GUESS A SIZE! FOR A LEFTOVER! I guessed the right size and Malcolm proceeded to say I didn't guess the right size, although I saw the next people in line get the size I guessed... At 2:20pm, MALCOLM decides to give phone calls for 20 MINUTES, INSTEAD of letting us in at 2pm. They told us we would get in at 2pm. MALCOLM WAS TELLING HIS PEOPLE TO COME IN AFTER THE LINE WAS OVER TO BACKDOOR. On top of that, some random woman walked in right before we were let inside, and MALCOLM was trying to be lowkey about talking to her which made it even more suspicious. AKA MALCOLM TELLING HER HE HAS HER PAIR. First, what store makes people GUESS a size for LEFTOVER PAIRS?? Second, it is outrageous what MALCOLM did. I called the store later that day and MALCOLM said he misheard me and will make it right by telling the District Managerto contact me (NEVER HAPPENED). Eventually I had to go OUT OF MY WAY to get in touch with the store manager, SHONDA. She asked what they can do to resolve my problem. I said to save me a pair of Jordan 4 "Red Thunders," which came out two weeks later on 1/15/2022. She said they can't save them, which is a lie, but she said they'll save me a pair if the raffle winner doesn't come to pickup their pair in my size I asked for the in the Jordan 1's (5.5Y). SHONDA told me to call the store 15 minutes before all raffle winners must pickup their pairs. Why do I have to call, why can't they call me to come pick it up? SHADY. I called 15 minutes before to SHELBY AND EELIYAH. They said to call back in 15 minutes because they'll have my pair. So I call back 15 minutes later, they don't have it... Where did it go???? So I ASK VERY POLITELY for a different size because I should be compensated since this has been an ONGOING ISSUE. They say they can't give me any other size. THIS IS A LIE! Someone I know was at the JimmyJazz North Riverside Location that day for leftovers and told me they had a FULLSIZE RUN left over (MENS AND GS). So WHY didn't they give me MY PAIR OR offer me ANY other size to HOLD ONTO UNTIL I CAME? I should be first priority since YOU GUYS started a problem and SHOULD FIX IT by giving me the PAIR I WAS PROMISED. I go into the store later that day and talk to SHELBY. She did absolutely nothing, but lie. What SHLEBY did is, she said she'll take my number down and give it to SHONDA. That way when SHONDA comes back in town, she can contact me to talk about it and FINALLY FIX THIS PROBLEM. WEEKS GO ON AND NONE OF THEM CONTACTED ME TO FIX THIS MESS! THESE MANAGERS ARE UNPROFESSIONAL, DON'T KNOW HOW TO RUN SNEAKER RELEASES, DON'T CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS, AND LOVE TO LIE. WHO TRAINS THEM? IT'S CLEAR AS DAY THEY ARE BACKDOORING. If not for 1 empathetic employee out of 3, I would try to give this place 0 stars. My experience yesterday: I was shopping for myself with a female friend. I am very petite for a woman in her mid-twenties, and thus I wanted to try on an outfit for a Bulls game that I am attending this week. We asked a clerk if there were dressing rooms, and he responded there was not - they used to have a dressing room but did not anymore. This clerk was a few steps away, but he was standing still as I told my friend I would just go to another store's dressing room and try them on, and return them if they did not fit. The clerk may not have heard me and I understand if he did not. After going to the register, my friend and I sat our clothes down on the counter and discussed again as the female cashier waited and stared at us. Specifically, my friend said I could wait and buy the leggings tomorrow if I want, but I said that I would get them now because it made sense to have them to try on, and if they did not fit, I could always return the items that didn't work out. I did this on purpose as I had to be sure the cashier heard, in case that was an issue. My friend and I were the only customers at the register, there were no other customers behind us or within a 15-20 foot radius, there were less than 7 customers in the entire store (including my friend and I), and the cashier was indeed staring right at us. I am absolutely sure she was listening to our conversation and had no distractions as I debated buying the items at her register. This was my first time ever purchasing any items at a Jimmy Jazz store. After buying $75 worth of items ($20 top, $13 hat, and $35 leggings/sweatpants, + tax for each) with my personal credit card and verifying with my I.D., my friend and I went one more store, then into a nearby mall restroom so that I could try on my Jimmy Jazz purchases. The top and hat fit, but the leggings were too large (they were a size small, but as I stated before, I am very petite - which is why I always ask if a store has a dressing room that I may utilize prior to purchase). Thus, because the leggings did not fit, we came back to the store. We came back to the register where the same female cashier was stationed and said "we would like to..." right as we finished the sentence, the cashier said "No refunds. Only exchanges or in-store credit", shrugged her shoulders for a few seconds as me and my friend said "but we were just in here", and then the cashier walked away. After looking around and finding nothing I liked, I opted for in-store credit and another store clerk rang me out. I said "excuse me, do you have a moment?" to the original cashier who was not too far away and asked if she could come back. When she came back to the register area (and in front of two male store clerks), I said, "I understand if you don't get the chance to tell every customer the store policy, however this is my first time ever shopping in this store. My friend and I had an entire conversation in front of you as we were at the register, before you rang any of my items up, debating whether I should buy these items and return what I did not like/could not fit. It would have been helpful if you could have let me know that you do not allow refunds before I purchased these items". And she responded... "When I'm at the register, I'm just trying to ring people out. I don't listen to my customers' conversations, because I'm just doing my job. I'm sorry." And with that, she gave a half smile, and immediately walked away. That made a second time she walked away as we were having a conversation What baffles me is that the Jimmy Jazz website states "As a testament to our ongoing commitment to providing the highest level of customer service and satisfaction, JimmyJazz.com has been certified by the Better Business Bureau as an accredited business and a trusted retailer." It makes me sad that this standard is not the same standard upheld at the particular Riverside Mall store I visited. As a customer, I said I would be making a return in front of the cashier. There were no customers behind me, so she was looking at and listening to my friend and I (I know because I looked back and forth between her and my friend during the conversation). For her to say that she doesn't listen to her customers, but be very quick to state the return policy when we returned to the store, was upsetting. Also, being that there are no longer dressing rooms in the store, the policy should be stated to customers in general as there is no option to try on items in the store to verify that they fit - the only option is to purchase an item and hope for the best, which I found out too late. My first time experience in a Jimmy Jazz store was one I regret and because of it I may never shop there again, even shopping for gifts to give others, and that is very unfortunate. My son likes to shop in the Pensacola, FL store occasionally. Mostly because he says the shoes are always at a better price than the other stores. The merchandise in the store is nice and neatly displayed. The clothes are a bit pricey to me, but they do have sales that I can work with sometimes. My problem is with their return policy. We found out the hard way that there are no refunds. Only store credit. Period. It does not matter how you paid or if you have a receipt. Once they get your money they are in the business of keeping it. The pants he selected were too small. Normally he will try on any clothing before purchase, but they have no fitting rooms in a store full of clothing. So, we took a good size store credit and began to look for something else. My son found some shoes and we left with store credit still left to spend. The credit is on a receipt, not on a card. Easy to crumple up and lose or forget. I made sure we kept it because it also expires in 6 months. Surprisingly they also offer military discount. When they ring up the items the receipt does not reflect the discount anywhere so we had trouble figuring out if they gave the discount without going back to the register to see what the original price was versus the sales price. Oh, you also have to purchase more than one item to get the discount. It does not matter how much you spend. Two items. That was the last straw for me. So many unusual stipulations that are not customer friendly. To be fair there is a sign posted at the register that explains the return policy. The employees are pretty helpful with bringing out shoes to try on and my son has been satisfied with most purchases.I just think they have some shady ways of not giving refunds. Failed to get the managers name. But horrible experience. I'm not going to say the whole story because this whole point of the story is the attitude of the workers there. Primarily the manager. There was an issue with my boyfriend & I's purchase. I asked to speak to the manager, which then announced herself rudely. I told her that we hadn't even been there 5 minutes ago & we would like to return what we purchased. But she again, rudely recited the store policy. Obviously our fault on misinterpreting the store policy, but I just couldn't understand why they wouldn't make an exception if it was not even 5 minutes ago. She just kept getting agitated & rude while I spoke to her calmly and respectfully, I have worked in the retail business so I completely understand when people walk in being rude. But that's not even the point, the point is on how the manager handled the situation she was extremely rude & had such a bad attitude. Definitely not going back to this jimmy jazz (North riverside park mall) hopefully jimmy Jazz, you guys pay attention to the type of people you're hiring. read more
