I'm really disappointed in my nail experience here. I was really hoping I had finally found a great nail tech, with the addition to her being a black nail tech. Now, I've only had my nails professionally done with nails added once before but I know what quality is and what it's NOT! At the beginning of my nail appointment I was unsure of the color I wanted so I asked for assistance in picking out a color. I only had two specific no no's - pink and anything bright in color. And what do I get... something bright but not only that it's mood changing (this is after the color has been applied). Okay, so besides the awful looking color, I thought I could get through three weeks of this color because it's October and Halloween is at the end of the month.... the nails didn't even make it past day 5!!!!!!!!!! Trust me when I say you're better off spending your money somewhere else or purchasing your own supplies. Now I have to go to homecoming and walking around with my nails looking janky. Also, nothing was done to my cuticles at all, aren't they supposed to be pushed back and cleaned up before applying nails? There were a lot of steps that I know for sure she did not do to my natural nails or the fake nails. The first day I was surprised the nail fell off... I'm at the 2 week mark and I'm not even surprised at the 5th nail (and counting) that fell off ... sigh. Although I haven't been to Snob Nails since the mid-summer (it's November now). I wanted to leave a review just to tell of my experience and show pictures of my nails that I've gotten done there. First time I went there it was when the shop had JUST opened in April (had been open less than 2 weeks). I was super excited because like everyone else, I saw the work London had did and was eager to support a black owned business. Another reason I wanted to go here was because I found out that the Asian salons use fake acrylic (I always wondered why it was so hard to get off) and knew that her salon would use real acrylic. So I booked an appointment and I had never experienced having to pay a deposit for a nail appointment but I knew I'd have to because I was booking weeks in advance due to her high demand. Now to the appointment, my appointment was on April 26th, 2018. I walked in the salon and first thing I noticed was that the shop was half decorated, looking as if they were still in the works of finishing it. That stood out to me because if I was opening a BRAND NEW salon I'd make sure it was fully done before hand but ‍. I walk in and immediately I realized I didn't know who I was booking with (I knew her name but not her face, bc I booked through the Snob Nails page not London's) so one of the technicians at the front greeted me (which I ended up liking the most and made my new tech) and asked me who I booked for and I said London. I then hear London from her station at the back say "Girl, how you book an appointment and don't know who you booking with?" and I am a light hearted person so I picked up on it as she was joking. I went and sat down and show her my inspiration picture (some orange ombré nails). She responds with a nod and gives me some orange acrylic swatches to pick from as she cleans the station and gets things ready. As the appointment went on, she was like the other reviews, talking across the stations to the other technicians. It didn't bother me because I'm a female and we gossip lmao I'm kinda used to it. But what did bother me was the combination of loud music, TV (for her kids that were in the shop at the time ‍) AND a loud conversation. Very unprofessional and rude for your customers. She didn't make much conversation with me but I'm introverted anyway so (win-win) lmao. But, she did ask me what inspired me to pick the nails I did. In the end, the set came out great and it was the best work I had gotten done (I've been to maaaany salons). It also lasted fairly long but I just didn't feel that she was worth coming back to (HIGH prices and mediocre service). Next time I went to Snob Nails, I ended up going to the lady who had greeted me when I came there the first time, Jaye. I switched to her because (at the time) London was booked for month and I needed my nails done. Now, this appointment stood out to me a lot. It made me notice that every one of the technicians were students or (graduated students) of London. Which meant that most of them were just learning . With this appointment everything was going great (great customer service, she made conversation with me, was patient, made sure I was comfortable). Jaye was amazing but she took FOREVER to do nails. Literally took her almost 3 hours to do a full set (Appt was around 3 and I ended up leaving at almost 6). It was so aggravating because I specifically told her I had to go take senior pictures the same day. In the end, my nails came out great, she had did the design I wanted perfect and the length and shape were perfect. (pink camo nails; picture at bottom). After that, I had came back to Jaye about 3 or 4 other times (although now I made sure I went on free days so she had time ). Each time I went back it seemed as if her skill was decreasing, like she'd do a good enough job but it wasn't amazing. So eventually I stopped going back because I was not about to pay $50-80 for a "good enough" set. After I stopped going, a couple months later I saw that Jaye (@beautyindustryjaye on IG) had switched salons and was no longer working at Snob Nails. ‍ so now I definitely have no interest in going back. I don't know how London is now and by reading reviews I don't want to know. Since I live by this nail salon, I walk past it all the time and it is always packed, they have turned down the music some and their pedicure chairs are finally installed. I booked through the website, sending my deposit and all needed information. My first appointment with her i was nervous, as i have anxiety, but Mysz Londyn(who is the owner of snob nails brand and salon) was extremely nice to me. We had conversations about any and everything, she put me at ease while she slayed my nails! I got a slight white to pink ombré the first time. Done with all acrylic. My second appointment with Mysz Londyn was amazing too. I'm recently pregnant and she had no issue with me eating crackers & Ginger Ale for my nausea. I scheduled an appointment for a fill, I went during lunch to the snob nail location and was told that I had to reschedule due to lack of proper time management. I was not compensated for any time lost etc Things happen , I understand . I rescheduled my appointment . During my second visit I noticed that my nails weren't done the same. Wouldn't spend anymore money here. I, like many other people, found the owner/salon on ig. Great page but bad attitude. I paid a lot of money to take a 1 on 1 class. But I feel ripped off. London was not a very patient teacher, the music was waaaaay too loud. How are you going to teach me and have the speaker blasting music right next to me?! There were children constantly interrupting and overall I just felt like she didn't want to be there. Yes I learned a few things but I would definitely not spend 1,000 for that class. What you see on Snob nails Instagram is the owners work. I was super excited to work with her as my nails are important to me and where I moved from I was getting them done the same way. I immediately reached out asking about ways to make a deposit other than cash app because I have been locked out of mine for years. The first time I contacted I got a response to "read the website" which I had already done and wouldn't have reached out if the answer was on there. I even offered to drop the deposit cash at the salon as again, having my nails done by a professional who knows what they are doing is important to me. In any case I got no response and my apt was declined due to no deposit. I then figured oh well I will try to have someone else make a deposit for me so I could get in. I followed the instructions of having date, time and name attached. Guess what I got another decline the day before because I put my first name with my last name initial it didn't have my full last name. The reason for decline was "name didn't match deposit". She texts me at 10:40 saying I can come early (appointment is at 11) I don't just hang around iverson mall...I get there and it cash only... hmm okay. The music is too loud and laced with profanity. I sit down and she's like pick a color acrylic. I did so quickly because I felt rushed. She asked me the shape and length. I told her what length I wanted. Her response was "I don't do short nails" first of all the length I requested was not short. It was professional so I can go to work.... & even if they were short what is the big deal you're going to turn down customers because they want them a centimeter shorter??? So I tell her to do the medium the shortest she feels comfortable doing..... y'all . I couldn't pick up a damn thing with those nails.... it just doesn't make sense. People who work 9-5's are how your business stays afloat. Why cut off a whole portion of your market because they don't want ghetto long nails? Anyway long story...still long, I had to go to another shop to get them cut down... Her instagram is super unprofessional too. I saw her argue back and forth with someone about reading her policies on Instagram and her website. Very trash. Very unprofessional. If I could give negative stars I would as well. She has a very strict late policy and she was late by 15-20 min. She strolled in (literally) then proceeded to do my nails terribly. I wrote a detailed long email about why I disliked my nails and I requested she (the owner, who did my nails) give me 50% back. I also included pictures along with email to show her why I was not satisfied with her work. I even screenshot ted the email and DMed it to her to make sure she got it. I made sure I said in the email that I wasn't going to post the nails on social media blasting her because I want to uplift black businesses. The result: no response to the actual email and she BLOCKED me from the IG page. She DID give me 50% back as requested. I guess she was worried I was going to tag her? Which mind you I still have never posted the nails on social media. But I will write a review on her business so people can learn from my experience and mistake. Anyways save your money. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!! I took a chance on this nail salon after seeing their work on social media. I was a little weary at first by some of their posts I saw that didn't really seem professional, but I decided to go ahead and book an appointment with them anyway. After booking, I immediately received an email with the instructions on how to reserve the appointment with a $25 deposit through cash app. The deposit was placed and I heard nothing from the salon or the owner. I figured since it was the weekend I probably wouldn't receive a confirmation of deposit until regular business hours on Monday, so I decided to wait until then before I contacted the salon. I reached out through text to the number and the email that was provided on their social media accounts and heard nothing back. I then proceeded to direct message both the salon's and owner's Instagram accounts and still heard nothing. As a last resort I tried calling the number they have listed. Someone proceeded to pick up the phone and then immediately hung up. I tried calling back and my call went straight to voicemail. By this point it's the day before my scheduled appointment and I still have heard nothing from the owner or the salon even after paying my deposit. After calling once more and receiving no answer, I get an email saying my appointment was declined due to a scheduling conflict from lack of deposit, and asking me to reschedule. I'm beyond annoyed and decide to text that same number saying I WILL NOT be rescheduling and I would like a refund of my $25 deposit. Thankfully I was able to get my money back, but she has now lost another of many potential clients. I should have read the reviews before booking, it would have probably saved a lot of time and money. I'm sure the salon won't last very long with all the bad reviews and reputation that it's been getting. I haven't been practicing as much as I should but with the amazing skills we were taught I was able to do a few sets that lasted weeks on end. Retaining what I learned was the easy part. I been on her IG many times over the pass year or so. I was interested in coming to her back when she was in laurel, but the fact that she didn't do fillins if she didn't do the origin set always kept me from making an appointment. I finally made an appointment because I thought by going to a nail tech like herself instead of the regular nail shop that's in every shopping center I would be getting quality service and work but I was very wrong. Besides all the the rules and requirements like a deposit and coming with bare nails the first thing the rubbed me the wrong way is that she texted me a little over an hour before my appt telling me I could come in early. I told her I was almost there but still needed a soak off. She responded with " as stated in my booking info I do not take off or do fill ins on others work". I wasn't coming to have her to do so I thought I would come to her shop to support her other employees since they take walk ins but after that text I just went to the nail shop across the street got my pedicure and take off done. At that point Something kept telling me to forget the appt and let her keep the deposit but I talked myself into going since I drove an hour in heavy rain with my son but now I wished I didn't. I feel like I completely wasted my money and could of gotten better quality work done for way cheaper at a regular nail shop. I thought since I was paying so much for her service that letting her free hand the designs on my nails it would be beautiful like on some of her ig pics but no I got basic work. I've gotten better designs and bling from a regular shop then what She gave me. First I wanted pink. The same pink that every other nail shop has for ombré nails she said she didn't have it so she used another pink which looks like pink/white color. It's 4 days later and the color is very dull. There's no shine to it and the color looks streaky. My boyfriend who knows nothing about nails said she didn't do a good job because when he was rubbing my hand he could feel that my nails was bumpy instead of smooth. Also not all of my nails was the same shape. I can notice some are crooked and some short and fat But what I was most upset about what the designs that she put on my nails. The service I booked include 2 nails with a designs and I paid extra to have 2 more done and I told her to use bling and do whatever design she wanted. All she did was put the bling in a straight line on all 4 fingers. So I paid all this money for the most simple design ever . And that's not all. The bling she used was so cheap. Not like what she has in hers pics on Instagram, no. She used some all silver stones and the next day they had already turned green. So now my nails look even uglier with these brown green stones on this light pink nails with some multicolor stones. Also the day after a piece of my thumb nail chipped off. She barely put any acrylic on the tips so it was easy to break and get cracks. I will post pics on yelp. It's been 4 days since my service and my nails look like I had them for weeks. Some of the bling have fallen off too. For the high price I paid and the quality work that I did not get is why I give her 1 star. I wasted my time and money but it's my fault because I didn't listen to my gut feeling from the beginning. I been to the nail shop inside of the Wal-Mart and got 4 nails with bling hand paint designs glitter and foil for 40 dollars cheaper. I contacted her to let her know and she was very unprofessional with this matter. She BLOCKED my phone number as well as my Instagram after She "agreed" to fix my nails. I walked in to have my nails done on Friday. Place was crowded, 2 techs doing nails, one doing eyebrows. Nobody greeted me, even looked up. I waited an hour with about 4 other girls . The techs were talking, laughing with their customers, ignoring those waiting. They seemed to be taking their time, in no hurry to service the now 7 customers. At 6pm one of the techs has the nerve to make an announcement "We're closings at 7 so some of you are going to have to come back ANOTHER day . I left and everyone else waiting LEFT and I will NEVER be back. Their entire business approach is WHY I prefer nail shops ran by Asians. They're about their business, the act like they're glad to have you in their shop, ALWAYS greet you and are WORKING not taking their time gossiping and carrying on. I will take accountability for not doing as much research as i should have but granted if your thinking about pursuing your education here let me just tell you now... run lol. I paid over $5000 in tuition plus an additional $500 for the kit. Everything in the kit was from amazon and totaled $200.... where the rest of the money went is beyond me but its okay i learned my lesson. Aside from the price being a total rip off, london doesnt care about her students how she says she does shes just looking for your money. In the three months i went there i didnt learn anything. Class was majority virtual and we would read from the book for 2 hours and thats it. Thats no way to retain information. We probably got 4 days of hand on work if that and even then she didnt even watch us work... she stayed at her desk on her phone the whole time. The salon is dirty and so is londons attitude. I went to the shop back in July for a full set. I've seen all the techs work on instagram so it didn't matter to me who did my nails. The shop is small & there's a lot goin on (e.g. nails, pedicures, makeup, lashes). The owner was also running a special that day so the shop was packed. The music was way too loud because I had to walk to her station just for her to hear me. She asked was I waiting on her and I said no so I walked back to the front & another tech greeted me then told me she would start my nails next. I think her name was Jai, she was super sweet but I don't think she works in that shop anymore. I ended up getting a light blue & white ombré full set & she put some crystals on a few nails for me being there so long. I got there around 3 & didn't leave until about 6. I loved my nails & enjoyed my nail tech but the shops atmosphere isn't really for me. If you like a more relaxed setting when getting your nails done, this is not it sis. I wish I still had the pictures of my nails. I didn't have any problems with them, I think I lost like 2 crystals but with the placement of them you couldn't tell. I ended up breaking a nail my third or fourth week so I just soaked them off & got a full set elsewhere. read more

I am so excited to finally have some time to write a review on this place. So i visited this shop twice in the last months to get my nails done by London for my birthday and to get a full in. On both occasions i was more than satisfied. Overall I am very impressed with the shop and her both as a nail tech and shop owner. She was very professional and really took her time to make sure my nails were perfect for my birthday. Not only did i enjoy the work she did, i enjoyed our conversation and how personable she was. My cousin and I were excited to get our nails done here after seeing work on IG. We got there at 2pm it wasn't busy and we were the only ones waiting. I got my acrylic soaked off and waited an additional 2 hours for service. I told her I'd pay for it and she charged me $15 for a SOAK OFF. No other service, just a soak off. My cousin waited 3 hours to get her nails done and he young lady took another client ahead of her. We left the customer service and communication was horrible enough for me to never return. read more

So I literally just left the shop. I definitely understand all the comments that have been said. She plays music incredibly loud, but at least it's the clean version. She was a little rude when I told her what I originally wanted (2 colors but in a specific order) and she was like "okay you're doing too much now 2 colors is already extra and putting the colors on different fingers is going to be more." I mean for the area her shop is in I wasn't really surprised by how she came off but at the same time it is a business. Overall her shop isn't terrible I've been to worse. My review only pertains to snobnails acrylic system and 1 on 1 class since I've never had my nails done at the salon. I was a bit apprehensive about leaving a review due to others communicating bad experiences. I will say London is great instructor and I'm satisfied with what I learned & the cost of the class was reasonable. I truly believe she wants to help other nail technicians succeed whether you're a beginner or want to learn a new technique. I also ADORE her acrylic system because of how it lays, how long it lasts, low odor, etc. I definitely will continue to purchase her acrylic systems and take advantage of any other courses she will offer to help me perfect my craft. read more

My thoughts ladies, I've been following Snobnails I.G. for about a year or so, I will be in the area this Thanksgiving weekend to pick her brain and get my nails done. I'm also interested in being the first black own nail spa in my community which is amazing! My ? is do we give this same energy to Koreans, Chiennes, Cambodians, and Vitemanes nail shop owners. You will never be able to satisfy "EVERYBODY" but, come on my Black Peeps we are the only ones that talk and belittle our own people!
