Stay away from this place! I came in because I just wanted my nails repaired and what should've taken about 30mins at the least took almost and hour. Y! The place was no where near busy it was 45mins to closing and I'm sitting at 20mins after still waiting for the girl to come back and fill my nails in? I am so excited about this place. I moved to the DMV area about a year ago and was on the hunt for my go to nail spot! I finally found it!!!! Pinky did my pedicure and full set! I was a walk-in and I guess since it was the middle of the day on a Tuesday it was not busy and she was able to get started right away. There is a sign on the door that says appointment only...glad I slipped through though lol. I asked Pinky a bunch of questions and she answered them all. She was friendly and nice enough to answer my questions. I showed her a few pictures of what I wanted and she delivered she even added to what I asked for recommending snowflakes under my mail instead of painted on! Why is it so hard to find a nail salon that I love? I'll start with the good: Brenda who did my nails was very thorough, she took her time with my pedicure, including a very nice massage. She also worked really hard to salvage my natural nails. I had acrylic tips on my fingers for longer than I care to admit and they looked terrible. My natural nails were brittle and ugly. She worked very hard to make them look good, which I appreciate. Hundreds of nail polish options. The bad: This place needs to be cleaned up. The floor needs to be vacuumed, mopped, replaced. There's a very grimy look. It's also very messy and cluttered. Stuff everywhere. They need to close for a week and just clean, sanitize and organize. Although she worked hard on my nails, she did too many coats. Up close, my nails look lumpy and bumpy. She did about 4 coats of gel which isn't necessary at all. They look pretty ridiculous, as though I have deformed nails and I don't. My experience wasn't the worse, but not good enough to be back. I won't be back, unfortunately. read more

I haven't been here in years....I was in the area and pressed for time so I stop in Bad move I requested a pedicure with matte black polish.....of course they want to upsell so they only do gel First sign to go to my regular tech I stay and proceed with pedicure.... 6 pedicure was good until it came time to polish my toes I tell the tech and the other lady I ONLY WANT MATTE BLACK..... What does the tech do give me the shiny black I tell her I said MATTE BLACK... Not only does she dismiss me she starts to speak in her language rudely (about my request) to the other tech She then tells me I can come back next time and get it.... Now I'm pissed...I could have just gone to my tech and gotten exactly what I wanted and not have gotten the smart remark when I'm spending my "Coins" Then she decides she's going to attempt to remove the polish/gel....No Mam I'm now really pressed for time This will never happen AGAIN I DON'T GIVE BAD REVIEWS... 8/4/2021 I had an appointment scheduled with Jenny, but the guy that did my pedicure ended up doing my nails. He was very nice and did an amazing job on my pedicure. My nails look like red chiclets and I hate them. I was ten minutes late and ended up getting my pedicure first. This happened two weeks ago. I will be going back today to get the chiclets replaced with a full set. I will also be getting a gel pedicure. I will update my review today. Update 8/20/2021 Five stars across the board. I wish I had taken a photo of my toes too but they look amazing. The nail tech, I can't remember her name, was very nice. I was a bit demanding, not rude (just particular about what I wanted) and she was very patient and polite the entire time. Great service especially for the price! I got a pedicure, full gel set, shaped and four designs on my nails. I will definitely be back, it's in my neighborhood too, the nail tech Tina has got to be the the best because I've seen so many reviews and while I was in the shop she received several request for her over the phone. It was my first time here and I love the way my nails came out! I came in on a Saturday at 1005am and was seen 30 minutes afterwards which isn't too bad on a Saturday when you don't have an appointment. Jenny did my full set & Tina did a polish change on my toes which came out great as well. I didn't opt for an actual pedicure because they don't use throw away plastic bags inside their pedicure stations which is why I'm giving the 4 stars. She did my nails tonight and not only was she gentle with my nail take off, but she added complimentary jewels to my ombré nails. She also gave me a break in what I would normally pay! I've come here on three different occasions for pedicures. The first two times were acceptable and uneventful. This last visit was horrible. The tech drilled down on my toenails so much that they're thin and breaking (they were in great condition before). In addition to ruining my nailbeds, the polish came off one nail within less than 24 hours. Shortly after, another nail loses polish. The service was not that great, to begin with, but for the product to also be faulty was highly disappointing. I won't be coming back here again. read more

4 stars my ass.. they are rude. I walk in and it's 3 other people in there.. wait first let me start with the phone call I should have saw the red flag then.... I call and ask Can they do a pedicure and she says how long will it take you to arrive. I said 10 minutes and she said talks to her coworker and then says " I don't know if she serious" So then I say I live 8 mins away I'm serious. She say ok come on... WTF how unprofessional. I get there and they have granauntie doing my feet and she instantly talks shit about me.. with her two label wearing ass..( who wears Adidas with Reebok) anyways. I then ask if she has sugar scrub and she starts speaking her language and playin the speak no English game... ok coool.. my last strike is when she put the callus remover in the trash with other trash and then grandniece puts dust pan trash on top. This use to be my go to nail salon. I will never go back here. First my daughter and I came in for fill in. The girl that was working on my daughter nails who I might add is only 12. Kept trying to talk her into getting expensive stuff done to her nails. This she said she couldn't do a fill in she has to remove her nails. I have never heard of someone having to remove 2 week old nails just do them. So they charged me 45 for her nails. Then when my nails got done she wanted me to hurry up and pay. I came here on Friday February 1st for the first time. A friend recommended that I go and ask for Jenny. I'm so glad that I did. I went without an appointment and Jenny saw me as soon as she came in. She was very sweet and attentive to me. I showed her a photo of what i wanted and she worked with me to get it just right and as close as possible. My nails turned out better than i could have imagined. I am in love with them. I will definitely go back. I have gotten so many compliments over the weekend. Everyone said they looked "flawless" "fantastic" "stunning". I really did I know what to expect as far as how my nails would turn out but it was clearly a good decision. The inside of the shop isn't glamorous or anything but they know what they're doing. I definitely recommend Jenny. She did an amazing job and I hope she is my nail tech for a long time. I've been a customer for about 7 years and like any nail shop, you have good techs and not so good. I have my own nail tool kit just for me. However, their customer service is I have to say the best in the area. Prices are great!!! Reasonable!!! They give you water bottle(s), eyebrow session includes one of the best head/neck/arm massages all for the same price. Gigi moved to PA, she was the BEST nail tech!!! Gel manicure was on point always & she was funny! Tina is great too, she's my nail tech now. Ben is the PEDICURE master!!!! Towel, callous (wrap feet in baggie too) calf massage services all included in the $25 price! Takes his time every time. I moved to the Brandywine area and tried out 2 different places near me and I just can't do it, over priced and not impressed. I continue to be a loyal customer of Nail Tek. I've never witnessed any of the employees being rude to customers, in fact they greet you as soon as you open the door.
