I was having some resurgent trauma-related problems from being assaulted in the past and was seeking guidance through them. Calling to set up an appointment was straightforward, I had read the online profiles of the professionals and asked if I could see someone in particular (as of writing this review on Saturday 17 June 2023, the person is no longer listed as working at Bluestone). After describing my situation to the receptionist, they said that it sounded like the person I was requesting could be a good fit. So we scheduled an intake appointment in an online format due to the COVID-19 pandemic. At the first appointment we set up weekly sessions thereafter until I was feeling confident enough to part ways with the therapy about two months later. I received a bit of talk and EMDR therapy in my sessions. The therapist was never short with me and I found the treatment effective for helping me work through my problems. She was professional in our sessions and never prying. I have continued to use some of the things I learned in the sessions after stopping the therapy sessions.

I felt that she was very impersonal and straight to the point. I never felt that much compassion from her. In addition, I felt that she did not have great bedside manner or manners with me at all. I felt her customer service to me was not that great. I had to cancel at the last minute a couple of times due to an emergency, and the practice and Dr. Peng told me they had to charge me a fee. Bluestone showed me no mercy, and Dr. Peng did not seem to show me any either. I felt that she also did not properly understand my conditions either. I also didn't like that when I made no follow up appointments with her that Dr. Peng reached out to me multiple times and asked me if I was interested in continuing with her. Well obviously, if I have not called you or made an appointment with the practice in months, it's evident I am no longer interested. In the end, I am glad I left. I would not recommend this practice or Dr. Peng at all. In my opinion, they have no understanding for when life situations come up and I did not feel there was good communication or compassion towards patients either by either Dr. Peng or the staff of bluestone.

I contacted her a pediatrician whom after a check up sent a referral to Speech for Success. From start to finish my experience as a parent working with Speech for Success has been extremely wonderful. The therapist and office staff are all really courteous and helpful. I greatly appreciate how her therapist gives my husband and I tools to assist her home for positive reinforcement. My sweet girl enjoys her therapy session with Ms. Zara, and is actively speaking up more (yay!) A few things that helped my process run smoothly was I called around to multiple speech therapy groups, to verify insurance acceptance and new patient intake availability PRIOR to her appointment with her pediatrician (as you will need a pediatric referral.) Once I narrowed down a group, I gave that group to her pediatrician to send the referral too. Within 24 hrs I contacted the center to introduce myself, let them a referral was sent by her pediatrician, and asked what steps if anything I needed to do while waiting for the office staff to overview her referral. Once her referral was pulled the office contacted me to schedule an appointment and sent a link to a portal, and completed all the tasks within the portal before the day of appointment. Within less than two weeks my daughter had her first assessment, was given a speech treatment plan, and her weekly therapy sessions started that following week.

He would light up whenever he knew he had a session coming, and he'd often ask me, "is it almost time to see Ms. Susie again?" What made Susie so special is her ability to truly see him. She understood him on a deeper level. He once told me, with a smile, "she always seems to know what I'm thinking," and that kind of connection is priceless to see as a parent. Susie brought immense heart, compassion, and conviction into every single session. She gave Everett a sense of trust, confidence, and joy that he will carry with him moving forward. We were scheduled a week later for our exam after we called. The wait times were long, on the day of appointment we waited about an hour in our car in the parking lot (the office is small and they try to maintain social distancing). The doctor was very polite and curteous and didn't schedule any unnecessary tests. The fees were the lowest in the region at $180 per person for the exam. The office billed our tests to our insurance. Two days later the doctor called back with a vaccination that we could do at the time of picking up paperwork (or at any other pharmacy before that). We did not have to schedule an appointment for picking up our paperwork but the doctor was taking an early lunch that day (the staff kept us waiting for 45 minutes without telling that upfront :( ) But once the doctor was back, it hardly took 5 minutes.

Not only was check-in quick, but I waited less than 10min to get her blood drawn. The phlebotomist was nice and they had a cartoon playing during the blood draw. She didn't even cry once! She was absolutely amazing. She explained everything so clearly, gave us all the information we needed without pushing any particular path, and empowered us to make our own informed decisions. Those classes taught us so much that we walked into the birth feeling truly prepared and confident. I truly believe they played a major role in how smoothly everything went. When the big day came, Charlotte and Amy were the ones by our side. They were outstanding. As someone who grew up in a family of 8 where nearly everyone went into the medical field, I've been around professionals my whole life -- and I can spot the real deal. Charlotte, Amy, Molly, and the entire special delivery staff are true professionals who know exactly what they are doing, they made my wife feel safe, supported, and as comfortable as possible during labor. The walk-in showers were another thoughtful detail -- my wife was able to shower comfortably afterward without any difficult movements. Because of how comfortable and well-cared for my wife felt at Special Delivery, she was able to progress through her contractions without any setbacks and had a smooth, problem-free birth.
