This snow cone hut has been a Santa Fe staple for over 25 years!…read more The ice texture is pretty solid, gives you a good crunch and doesn't melt super fast in the summer sun. They don't drown it with juice, so if you like your bordering on the slushy side then get it with extra juice for $.25 no matter what size. They have the standard flavors, with some sour versions as well. There is diet flavors and what they call deluxe flavors, with such things as banana cream pie and strawberry shortcake. The price for those aren't on the menu so I don't know how much extra they cost. No flavors too out there, except for the recently added jalapeno, that comes with a warning that "beware it's made with real jalapenos." Their prices are pretty cheap compared to places in Houston or Galveston, small $1, medium $1.50, large $2 and the quintessential jumbo $2.75. They offer cream, chocolate or ice cream for a little bit extra. They also have smoothies for $3.50. All in all this place is pretty great. The hotter it gets the more packed the parking lot is, and there isn't any defined parking so it can get a little difficult. They season is about April to September every year, but it really seems to be based on how early and how late in the year it stays "summer temps." They usually close when it rains, the best way to know if they are open is when the flags are out!

Found this place my chance as we drove by getting boba and decided to try this place instead!…read more The inside decor is nice and spacious. Looks great to study in! Will definitely come back and test their wifi another day. Staff was nice and told me their recommended drinks. Will come back and try their number 1 another day, wasn't craving brown sugar today. I ordered the almond milk tea, 50 percent sweet and less ice. The flavoring is nice and the boba is ALMOOOOSST perfect, slightly on the chewier side. Will definitely come back and retry other drinks and make final verdict in the future. For today, this place is a 4/5!

I've been coming here for about a year and a half now and it used to be great. Haven't been in…read moreabout 4 months though. Today I went and the cup sizes look like they've gotten smaller, which, okay I understand if you want to save a little more money. We ordered two drinks (a taro milk tea with tapioca and a taro milkshake) and a bubble waffle. WE WERE THE ONLY PEOPLE IN THERE. WHY DID IT TAKE 32 MINUTES FOR OUR ORDER. We wanted to be in and out, and we usually are until today. I asked about the waffle and the lady said it's almost ready, takes 4 minutes to cook. Okayyyyy then why have we been waiting 30+? They said they started the order late because the PoS wouldn't print receipts, but good customer service means starting the order, not making your customers wait. One guy looked like he was confused and the lady kept running to hide in the back.

My kids loved it, the adults loved it and Anna Lisa was fabulous! She went above and beyond and made each of us feel special! They have game machines, plenty of seating inside and out and a little area for littles to sit as well as games to play! You can also view the inside of their kitchen (where they make their fresh ice cream) from the sitting area, which is cool! You must visit!

May 7, 2022 5 stars…read morefor the ice cream ONLY ice cream shops are exciting, no?!! The front window even says, "ice cream makes you happy!!!" I'm 60 years old and I still get giddy when I eat it whether at home or out... especially out though! It just makes you smile, right?! I mean..."he likes it, hey Mikey?!" But, I digress...the reason I'm disappointed is the youngsters, Robert (owner) has working for him...NOT impressive. And the asethetics of the inside is blah. Nothing like the photos of when it first opened. The Galveston staff is more engaging but, this girl today...she had 1 person checking out when be we walked in and then never acknowledged us when she was done. Just waited for us to order, no verbal engagement. My friend (a lifelong resident in of Galveston co) had never heard of this place...soo, heck yeah, WE ALL SCREAM FOR ICE CREAM! Let's get it! I moved to Galveston from Houston in 2013, and shortly after when this place moved to Post office Street (in galveston) is when I started keeping up with this small business. I told my friend the background story about the owner (Robert's dad, Mike) following his passion after leaving his profession and how he started making creative versions of this creamy goodness in his garage in Idaho...how I met Mike several times when he first opened. (what can I say, when I love food/dessert I learn the stories!) Anyway, this location has a smaller selection of ice cream and toppings...and, no cookies or brownies here either to buy (boo) My friend was excited and impressed because I was excited...I created the magic NOT the employee. This girl knew from overhearing us talking that my friend had never been here before but, meh so what. No offer to try one or any communication at all from her. THAT is a pet peeve of mine. Can y'all tell?!! Anyway, my friend got cake and brownie batter scoops in a waffle cone; she's in love with Mikey now! And she will tell her people and bring her grand kids... WHY? because, of the wonderfully rich ever flavorful...ICE CREAM PS: tidy up as the day goes on because the display glass was cloudy from not getting wiped down throughout the day AND, the restroom? A wreck...paper on the floor, no paper towels but, I bet with that phone in hand, she didn't miss a text today honey! Keep making that magic, Mikey...Robert Bouvier! Can't wait to try the banana oreo!
