Even though the main parking lot closest to the waterfall was full, I was happy to discover that there was additional parking across the street. It was also nice that there's a pedestrian overpass. Definitely makes crossing feel way less anxiety-inducing, especially when you don't always know how fast cars will be driving if you were to cross the actual street lol. I loved that from the moment you arrive and get near the fence overlooking the waterfall, you already get a little preview of the view. Seeing the top section of the waterfall adds to the excitement as you keep walking down the pathway and stairs to reach the main viewpoints. Personally, my favorite spot was the first official overlook. It felt like the view was more centered, and it had that "closer to the waterfall" feeling that makes it extra breathtaking. The lower final overlook was also beautiful, giving you more of the bottom half of the waterfall and a nice look at the river below. Overall, this waterfall is such a gorgeous sight to visit! I think spending about 10-20 minutes here is more than enough to enjoy every angle. It's also very accessible! Like even wheelchair users can enjoy the views, which is amazing!! Plus, it's dog-friendly, which I always love discovering as a dog owner! And if you like browsing, there are two gift shops you can check out while you're here. read more

When I was a kid the road from I-90 to Snoqualmie Falls was like driving through a mysterious, dense forest. It's not so magical anymore. Because of population growth, deforestation, and wildlife displacement, the Snoqualmie Parkway area is now urbanized. Its pretty much a carbon copy of what has happened in Issaquah, Sammamish, and Black Diamond. Instead of a canopy of Cedar and Douglas Fir trees you have a Dollar Tree. You can walk around the upper trail or you can hike down to the lower level. It's a trek back up so make sure you have the right hiking gear and bring water. The falls are pretty powerful and wild when there are rain storms. The sound of the falls is full of rage and the amount of water floods the lowland areas downstream in the Snoqualmie Valley. I'm glad they have a visitor center just like the Duwamish, the Suquamish, and the Tulalip tribes. They've added interpretive signs around the trails too. I'm glad they're preserving and sharing their history and hope to see more of it in the future. read more

We were already in the area and decided at the last minute to swing by Snoqualmie Falls around dusk, and honestly, that ended up being the best decision. It was absolutely beautiful. The falls themselves were stunning, especially with the evening lighting and mist coming off the water. One of my attached photos in particular from the lower part of the walkway came out amazing. The views from both the upper and lower viewing areas were gorgeous. It was a little crowded when we went, but parking was surprisingly easy to find. The upper walkway/viewing area definitely had a lot of people though. There was also a family there taking wedding photos while we visited. They weren't rude or anything at all, but they were using quite a bit of the viewing space, and I personally didn't want to accidentally end up in anyone's wedding album Because we came later in the evening, the café was already closed, so we didn't get a chance to try any food or drinks there. Overall though, it was such a relaxing and beautiful stop before heading home for the night. Definitely worth visiting if you're nearby, especially around dusk. read more

There is free parking to the right and $10 parking to the left. the day we were there there was adequate free parking and it really isn't that much more of a walk so I recommend you give that a try. this is a must-see for visitors to the Pacific Northwest. it's beautiful! My friend and I made a quick stop at Snoqualmie Falls on our drive from Leavenworth to Renton and then onward to Seattle and it was the perfect break in the trip. I love a good waterfall and this one exceeded expectations. While we didn't have time for a hike (there are a couple of scenic trails in the area), we did use the clean restrooms, browsed the super cute gift shop which also has a cafe and then took the short, well-maintained walking path to the viewing area. The waterfall is truly breathtaking, with a powerful, misty cascade surrounded by lush greenery. I very much appreciated the informative placards and displays both in the visitor center/gift shop as well as along the path which highlighted the history of the falls and their importance to the region, including the connection to the local Snoqualmie Tribe and the role of the falls in hydropower production. Even with our quick visit, we left feeling refreshed, and with some beautiful photos! If you're anywhere nearby, I would definitely recommend stopping here - whether for a longer hike or just a quick leg stretch like we did. Pro tip: The upper parking lot is free while the lower lot is paid parking :) read more

We heard about this place from our concierge at the hotel We stayed at in Seattle. This is a free place to see one of the iconic waterfalls in Washington. There are different points of view to see the falls. There is also a visitor center with a coffee shop and gift shop. If you decide to go to the lower viewing areas as we prepared to hike. Today was a video day. It still doesn't capture the reality of how beautiful it is in person. I love the ability to see it from the top and walk a short distance down to the bottom. Either way you will not be disappointed. On this visit it was rainy, misty, and slightly windy. The parking is close by and easy to walk on the pedestrian bridge across. There is closer parking closer, but I believe this is a pay parking area. And of course there are bathrooms. The trail takes you down to the lower viewing area. You can drive down the road a bit and be there, but mainly always just walk. Be ready to walk up the hill if you go down. I have seen this waterfall now in all seasons, always an A+ nature spot. What an incredible experience. The falls viewing areas are easy to access and offer stunning, incredible views. Many opportunities for selfies, panoramic photos, and just beautiful scenery. After about nine months of medical appointments, surgeries, treatment, and difficulty doing anything remotely difficult, and four months of trying to get stronger and build endurance, this was the moment of truth. The hike down was said to be steep, but manageable; however, the hike back up was expected to be much more difficult. As the friendly woman in the gift shop explained to us, "it's not for the faint of heart." Supposedly, the height is equivalent to a thirty story building. That's a lot of stairs. Well, we're here so we might as well do it. What's the worst that can happen? We take our time going back up. If we can get down, we can get up. There were a lot of people walking the trail and everyone we encountered was at varying degrees of fitness-kids, older folks, athletic types, strollers even (I'm pretty sure), people in sandals holding cigarettes. Yep.... We can totally do this. The trail down was indeed steep. There were huge beautiful trees along the way. We were informed by signage of the possible wildlife encounters; we saw squirrels. Eventually we get to the bottom and we were rewarded with breathtaking views. We took in the site for a little while and took a little break before heading back up. The hike up was indeed more challenging and quite steep, but doable. We took our time and took a few breaks and came back up stronger and better for it. As it turned out, we are not faint of heart. read more

During the lead up for our trip to Seattle, I looked up a few places to go hiking and see waterfalls. Snoqualmie popped up consistently on Instagram and AllTrails. I'm, at best, a novice hiker, but can still work a trail. The drive over was very pretty and the scenery spectacular. We knew there were three vantage points and told ourselves we were only going to do two, since all signs pointed to the low vantage being extremely difficult to do. Enter our pride to tell us we could do it easily. The hike down is relatively easy, albeit a bit steep. You're rewarded by a beautiful view of the falls and the sound of crashing water. Going up, though, is a different story. It's steep, it's taking your breath away (in literal and figurative senses), but it's rewarding and beautiful. So, what did ny pride do to get me to do it? Saw a gal doing it with flip flops, saw an older man with cowboy boots doing it, and a few senior citizens doing it while having a fun conversation. You're damn right I did it. I saw these falls on some reality show and bookmarked it just in case I was ever in the area. I love nature and it's beauty and I got things on my list all over the place. Well the day came that I was in Washington and I told my friends that I wanted to check out Snoqualmie Falls. It's just a quick 30 minutes or so drive from Seattle. The drive there was pretty and since it was a weekday, we were able to find parking easily. There is a main lot but they also have lower falls parking as well. We did pay to park via a QR code on signs all over the parking lot. What I didn't realize was how close to the falls you are from the parking lot. Just a quick hop, skip and a jump and you're right there. I've been to Niagara and I knew this wasn't that, but it was still a beautiful sights with lush, greenery as the backdrop. Walk around and you can see little tidbits of information posted around. I had to stop into the gift shop to get my souvenir magnet as well. Overall, this is most definitely something you should see if you're visiting Seattle or Washington State in general. It's quick and easy and you can be one with nature. You can also make a whole day out of hanging in Snoqualmie like we accidentally did. What turned into a quick stop for a drink turned into a few stops in town as well as hitting up the casino nearby. I would definitely come back if in the area. read more

It's nice to have something for free for a change. We walked around a bit and didn't stay too long. Fun trip to see the falls. It was surprisingly large and easily accessible. Parking is easy... both paid and free parking. Free parking is on the other side of the road. You need to walk over the bridge and there you are! We went in the morning and the spray from the falls was evident...once you see the falls it is a "wow" moment. There is also a lower parking lot for those who want to go down and are not able to hike the 1.4 miles. There is a small cafe and gift shop. The trail is doggie friendly. It was worth the 45 minute drive from Seattle to see the falls and learn about the area. read more

Super touristy and crowded at the waterfall viewpoints. The falls are beautiful and it's a nice hike down to the lower falls, but be prepared to be enjoying it with a lot of other people. There is free parking in the lot across the street but it's a little crazy getting in and out of the parking lot, people waiting for spots, and such. There's a pedestrian bridge from the parking lot across the street which makes it easy. The viewpoint at the lower falls is really small and everyone is trying to get pictures. There is a parking lot by the lower falls as well. The hike back up to the upper falls is steep but really pretty. If you go on a weekend, be prepared for lots of people. read more

Yes! Yes! Yes! I highly, highly recommend this gem of an experience and natural landmark! I'm so grateful I got to experience this with my daughters! While visiting Washington we had a free day so we decided to have a girl's day! There is a viewing point for the waterfall on the same level as the main parking lot. However, there is a trail that leads down to the lower part of the waterfall that is absolutely worth the trek! I tracked it carrying my baby so it's not a strenuous hike, the views are soooo worth it! I love this place so much and I look forward to visiting again. Amazing in all seasons. There's a free parking lot across the street (so you have to go over a covered footbridge to get to the park) versus a pay-to-park lot that is next to the gift shop and visitor center and very close to the falls and the viewing platforms. There's also a lower falls parking lot that gives you a view of the falls at its base, as well as a view of the hydroelectric dam. The upper main lot and lower falls lot is connected by a gravel trail which isn't too strenuous, although the upper main lot has a lot more amenities. The bottom lot has bathrooms, and a small informational area that was closed when I visited. The trail itself is very well maintained, and there are informational signs to read next to the trails if you want to learn more about the history and woodland management of the area. read more

Parking: Free parking across the street from the main parking lot. Use the pedestrian bridge to walk across. Or Park in the main lot and pay $7 plus fees for the first 2 hours. $5 each additional hour. Views: From the main lot, short easy walk to the overlook. You see the top of the falls. Next, you can continue on the trail that leads you through the Forrest to the bottom of the falls. This pathway is a bit steep and not recommended for seniors or strollers. It goes down hill first then uphill on the way up. Or From the top overlook at the main lot, get back in your car to drive down to the lower lot. Short walk to the bottom of the falls without going through the Forrest. Restrooms: Clean building in main lot next to gift shop. Or lower lot has Porto potty. We did 2 out of the 3 views. Upper and lower, avoided the river view. We paid for parking so we ended up hiking the trail through the forest and hydroelectric turbines. Since we paid for parking, we stretched our time out with photos and stopping, we finished in 1.5 hours. The falls are beautiful. It gets misty at the view points. The trail is on gravel. It was 40 degree weather but I took off my jacket on the ascent. As far as shoes, we saw a guy hiking in Japanese clogs. Very spiritual place, admire all the life in this Forrest. If you have time, hike. Otherwise park at upper and lower lot. read more

Love this place! The easy trail was steep and sandy but still with amazing views. People were polite but parking was scarce and the machines to pay, only one was working. But it's so pretty! It's not just the falls that are stunning, this whole area is a lush garden with photo opts everywhere. It wasn't too crowded and we could easily take lots of pictures at the waterfall. There are stairs that take you through paths of lush trees that you feel like you're in a secret garden. There are also some decent bathrooms. And all this beauty is free! read more

I love these Falls and have been a visitor since I was a child. Now, I take out of town guests here or come when I need to reconnect with nature and want to do a low-challenge hike. The trail is accessible by 2 parking lots; one at the top of the falls, and one midway down. I typically park up top and do the full walk down and back, ending the visit at the gift shop or the Salish lodge for a drink and a snack (the gift shop has a dog friendly seating area). Unfortunately, parking is no longer free, but you can get valet parking if you have reservations at the lodge. I appreciate that there are multiple rest benches along the way, and you can go all the way down to the water, or choose to hang out at the observation area up top. It continues to be one of my favorite destinations around Seattle. read more

Who likes waterfalls? I do!! We visited Snoqualmie Falls because it was only about 30 minutes away from where we were staying in Seattle. It was a wonderful side trip because we got to see a lovely waterfall. Parking was not an issue when we were there. It was a short walk to the upper observation area. You can also see another view of the waterfall from a lower observation deck. Snoqualmie Falls is a pretty sight to behold from whichever observation area you choose. I believe that there was a trail that leads to the base of the falls, but we did not have the time to walk there. We did stop by the gift shop, though. Never tire of seeing water falls. In my book, Snoqualmie Falls is deserving of 5 stars. It truly is a awesome falls to see in person. read more

Snoqualmie Falls is a breathtaking 268 foot waterfall located in the town of Snoqualmie, Washington. It's 28 miles east of Seattle. Not only is Snoqualmie Falls stunning, but it takes minimal effort visiting to be well rewarded. The Upper Viewing Platform sits right next to the parking lot, within a few steps. That's how easy it is. There are actually two Upper Section Overlook Decks to enjoy the sceneries. But, both perspectives are similar to each other. The primary viewpoint at the Upper deck has good spacing for a lot of visitors to get their pictures in. Once you're finished here, then walk down a staircase and a ramp to the other Upper Lookout Point which may not be as dramatic because it's situated just a little further away from the falls. Next...it's time to take The Trail pathway 1.4 miles roundtrip down to the Lower Observation Boardwalk. It's a casual walk through the heart of the forest which definitely gives off a Pacific Northwest rain forest type of setting. The surroundings are lush and green. The path down has some decline to it but nothing strenuous whatsoever. You'll pass beside an electrical powerplant and onto a boardwalk leading to the Lower Viewpoint. I'd say the Lower Lookout is just average, especially compared to catching the majestic views of Snoqualmie Falls from high above. Reason why is...the pathway down to the base leads you further away from the waterfall. By the time you arrive at the bottom, you're seeing Snoqualmie Falls a bit far in the background. I was watching people take pictures down here and they weren't so memorable. But...if you zoom in with your phone, you can catch up close glances of the falls, which made the appearance better than seeing it with your actual eyes. Overall, the Lower Lookout can be skipped if you're content with the surroundings back at the Upper Overlook. Extra Notes... - Entrance is free. Parking is free too, across the street from the falls. But...if you'd like a spot right in front of the entrance, you can pay a $7 fee for up to two hours. Even those parking spots filled up fast. With parking across the street, you conveniently walk across a footbridge to not disturb traffic and it leads directly to the waterfall. - Snoqualmie Falls can get real crowded, real fast. For those who may feel uncomfortable around large crowds, it can get overwhelming. I happened to visit on a rainy Tuesday morning near the end of August and it was relatively quiet compared to what it must be like stopping by on a weekend or during sunny weather. Btw...the platform boardwalk at the Lower Section is small so actually, it got congested with people to the point it was hard to even move around. The Upper Lookout has more room to accommodate folks. - Park hours are from dusk till dawn. There's a Visitor Center and Gift Shop located next to the falls. Hours are mostly 9am - 6pm, 7pm throughout the year. Included inside is a cafe selling coffee, ice cream and pastries with tables and chairs to take a break from the waterfall bliss. - There's a charming hotel located beside Snoqualmie Falls. It's called the Salish Lodge if you'd like to spend time overnight. - There's an entrance sign that says..."Snoqualmie Falls Park". A lot of people passed it by but I found it to be a photogenic moment. - Lastly, Snoqualmie Falls is (according to what I researched) one of the most popular waterfalls in the state of Washington. It's so accessible and great for a family outing but for outdoor and hiking enthusiasts, this place is probably way too touristy. I had never been here, so it was wonderful getting to experience the incredible 268 foot drop, but I wouldn't return in the future. It's too hectic for my mellow persona. But, thank you for having me and the state of Washington never ceases to amaze with outstanding sights among the great outdoors. read more

A must see when visiting Washington State! This waterfall is actually taller than Niagara Falls! It's around 40 minutes away from Seattle and is worth the stop! We were driving from Seattle to Cle Elum and this was one of the stops we made along the way. We parked in the free parking lot which was a short walk to the Salish Lodge and the lookout point. We took a quick bathroom break. There are clean and well maintained bathrooms throughout. The falls were amazing however, it is very crowded. You will have to wait a little while for your turn to take a picture near the railing. There is a hike down and I must say, after doing it, it isn't as easy as I've seen on YouTube videos/reviews. It's pretty steep and the path is covered in gravel. It took us about an hour to go down and back. Overall, the lookout at the top is the best view! The view at the bottom does get you closer to the end of the falls but, farther away than the top view. Although this was a cool experience, it's a one & done kind of thing, at least for me. read more

We then walked down the trails to get different vantage points, and eventually made it all the way down.
