I was at this place 4 yrs ago and I told my friends about it this time and they decided to check it out. First there's parking on the restuarant side but you have to pay for those spots. Across from there the parking are free and there's a bridge that you can walk across. It takes just 3-5 mins walk. A short distance from there is a viewing deck where you can see the top of the waterfall. However if you have at least 1hr-1.5 hr, I highly recommend you do the hike down to the lower viewing deck. It's totally worth the uphill walk back lol unfortunately my friends had an 8pm dinner reservation so we were in a rush so the uphill hike up for me was a nonstop rush. Wheew but I did it!! heheh... Check out the photos tho. Isn't it worth it? And it's freee!!!! I really recommend that they set up a small vendor or small stand selling hot dogs, fries, tacos, ice cream or small snacks and drinks tho. It would be really helpful for the thirsty and hungry hikers. Have plenty of time and want a nice sit down meal? There's a restaurant next to it that you can dine however it's a bit fancy so reservation is highly recommended. Otherwise bring water, sunglasses, and a hat and wearing a comfortable walking shoes is a must! Enjoy!
Such a beautiful way to start off our vacation.... Snoqualmie Falls is a stunning 270-foot waterfall featuring upper and lower observation decks for different views, a park, and the historic Salish Lodge. It's a sacred site for the Snoqualmie Tribe, a popular tourist spot, and the location of a hydroelectric plant, we were lucky it wasn't full and we got to enjoy the views without feeling rushed. After we decided to check out the gift store and purchased locally made candles for our home, can't wait to burn them! So many unique finds in this store which is also attached to a bakery/ coffee shop. I recommend coming when visiting Seattle!
I really love how peaceful and relaxing this trail is! It's about an hour hike from the upper parking lot, and the scenery along the way is beautiful. The waterfall is definitely the highlight and so worth the walk! It's a great spot to enjoy nature, take pictures, and get away from the busy city for a little while. I would definitely recommend checking this trail out if you're in the area!
Hiked here by myself because this was rated as the best waterfall in Washington state when I looked up that question online last night, but it was not something that had me in much awe. There is so much more that this state has to offer. Place extremely crowded that you have to rush pictures, or wait like 10 minutes to get a spot to yourself to take clear pictures of the falls. I like that there are upper and lower falls sites to photograph from, but still...so many people. $10 parking fee at front side for 0 to 2 hours. Some people brought the float tubes to coast off the river at ground level. But, not too impressed at this sight because truly...there is more beauty out there in Washington state
Even though the main parking lot closest to the waterfall was full, I was happy to discover that there was additional parking across the street. It was also nice that there's a pedestrian overpass. Definitely makes crossing feel way less anxiety-inducing, especially when you don't always know how fast cars will be driving if you were to cross the actual street lol. I loved that from the moment you arrive and get near the fence overlooking the waterfall, you already get a little preview of the view. Seeing the top section of the waterfall adds to the excitement as you keep walking down the pathway and stairs to reach the main viewpoints. Personally, my favorite spot was the first official overlook. It felt like the view was more centered, and it had that "closer to the waterfall" feeling that makes it extra breathtaking. The lower final overlook was also beautiful, giving you more of the bottom half of the waterfall and a nice look at the river below. Overall, this waterfall is such a gorgeous sight to visit! I think spending about 10-20 minutes here is more than enough to enjoy every angle. It's also very accessible! Like even wheelchair users can enjoy the views, which is amazing!! Plus, it's dog-friendly, which I always love discovering as a dog owner! And if you like browsing, there are two gift shops you can check out while you're here.
If you're looking for be soothed by nature, you should come here! You can enjoy the spectacular waterfall, the abundance of plants, and the fresh air. The hike is a bit tiring, but it's the perfect way to relieve stress.
We were already in the area and decided at the last minute to swing by Snoqualmie Falls around dusk, and honestly, that ended up being the best decision. It was absolutely beautiful. The falls themselves were stunning, especially with the evening lighting and mist coming off the water. One of my attached photos in particular from the lower part of the walkway came out amazing. The views from both the upper and lower viewing areas were gorgeous. It was a little crowded when we went, but parking was surprisingly easy to find. The upper walkway/viewing area definitely had a lot of people though. There was also a family there taking wedding photos while we visited. They weren't rude or anything at all, but they were using quite a bit of the viewing space, and I personally didn't want to accidentally end up in anyone's wedding album Because we came later in the evening, the café was already closed, so we didn't get a chance to try any food or drinks there. Overall though, it was such a relaxing and beautiful stop before heading home for the night. Definitely worth visiting if you're nearby, especially around dusk.
A fantastic weekend getaway. It's famous from the TV series twin peaks. In summer, the water volume is high. The lower parking lot is closer to the falls and river access. It's a little rocky near the river.

This place is absolutely mesmerizing. Whether the river is full or not, it's always incredibly beautiful and makes for a fun, short hike. My pup Hope enjoys it every time too! I've brought countless friends and family here to soak in the greenery and take in the breathtaking views. The area is well maintained and always bustling with visitors. The restaurant on site is also excellent and a great way to wrap up the experience.
When I was a kid the road from I-90 to Snoqualmie Falls was like driving through a mysterious, dense forest. It's not so magical anymore. Because of population growth, deforestation, and wildlife displacement, the Snoqualmie Parkway area is now urbanized. Its pretty much a carbon copy of what has happened in Issaquah, Sammamish, and Black Diamond. Instead of a canopy of Cedar and Douglas Fir trees you have a Dollar Tree. You can walk around the upper trail or you can hike down to the lower level. It's a trek back up so make sure you have the right hiking gear and bring water. The falls are pretty powerful and wild when there are rain storms. The sound of the falls is full of rage and the amount of water floods the lowland areas downstream in the Snoqualmie Valley. I'm glad they have a visitor center just like the Duwamish, the Suquamish, and the Tulalip tribes. They've added interpretive signs around the trails too. I'm glad they're preserving and sharing their history and hope to see more of it in the future.
Free! There is free parking to the right and $10 parking to the left. the day we were there there was adequate free parking and it really isn't that much more of a walk so I recommend you give that a try. this is a must-see for visitors to the Pacific Northwest. it's beautiful! Snoqualmie is a great place and The wider community has fantastic restaurants and wineries and it's just a great day trip to come up to the mountains and enjoy the falls.

This place was BEAUTIFUL to say the least. Parking is actually free, at the upper falls and lower if you just find the correct lot. It was nice to see such a huge waterfall and not have to hike to it (I have a toddler who's a mess lol but this was toddler friendly. Don't miss out on the lower lot, you can ask the gift shop for the directions and they'll give you a card! Gift shop had a small coffeeshop that was reasonably priced too! read more
One of Washington's most impressive natural landmarks, Snoqualmie Falls is a must visit for any outdoorsman or woman. Its was pretty but not the best imo. It was just a short nice drive from Seattle and parking here is a bit confusing. There's a free parking available and a covered walkway connected to the area provided. On the other area where paid parking is also available where you only walk for a short time to get to the falls. Several trails are available to explore and will give you a different view experience on the waterfalls. The main view deck for viewing is probably one of the worst to view it when the sun is shimmering so bright coz it ruin the view. Taking good photos will be so challenging so I suggest to come visit a peek around 3pm onwards. Just like other falls this one is used to generate power and reading the scripture will give you knowledge how some stuffs work in here. I find it a bit interesting. Other than that, I'm not sure to come here again. One time visit is enough for me and still glad I did check this one. Plus, this one is way too commercialized for me. No hike required to see the falls. You can park at the lot next to the lodge where you pay $7 for 0-2 hours or park across the street in the visitor parking and it's free. The visitor parking has a bridge that connects to make crossing the road much more easier and it's just a few stairs down and you can see the top of the falls. I didn't do any trails or hiking. I went on a gloomy day so it was misty but I thought the falls were magnificent. Dog friendly place too! read more

Love the lower falls, a pretty steep hike if you start from the top and have to go back up, so be warned. We enjoyed the lower falls viewpoint, and access to the river to rockhop. read more

About less than an hour from downtown Seattle, Snoqualmie Falls is a nice attraction to visit when in Seattle. There are ample paring both at the top and bottom of the falls though the vantage point at the bottom is far. The falls is very pretty and there a lot of spots to take in the views and capture pictures with family and friends. read more
Snoqualmie is one of Washington's most popular scenic attractions and a must see to bookmark. It's east of Seattle and it took us over an hour from Renton, WA to get here. Parking was a b*tch as there were so many people and it was 86 degrees when we came. We could not get to the waterfalls from the parking area but I did see some folks down there hiking to the waterfalls. There is a short trail to get to up close to the waterfall but we didn't go as it was just to hot and no shade. Its just me chasing waterfalls again! Good for a quick trip to see the powerful waterfalls that I heard runs power plants. Picture worthy. There is a gift shop to go to in the area. [80th R] read more

Natures wonder . Visited seattle and couldn't miss this amazing falls. Free parking .. though it was crowded we luckily got a parking .. we went on a weekday , and it helped . On the other side of the road closer to the entrance , parking isn't freee I think . When we entered and had a look at the falls from the top view , it felt ok . I thought this was was hyped a lot . Then we went a little bit lower and the view was again ok . Didn't excite us at all. We thought of going back but then someone said there is a small trail to the lowest part of the falls . Thank god we didn't miss it : the view was just splendid from the bottom most part . Loved it . It was a short 10-15 min walk and worth it . Loved it overall .. amazing for a free visit to a natures wonder .. read more

Every time we visit the falls I'm mesmerized but the beauty and sheer power. The hike down is steep and if you don't workout regularly could be more of a challenge. The posted information about the hydroelectric power and the Snoqualmie Indian Tribe is really interesting. My favorite view- hands down- is from above. While there most recently the weather was pretty chilly in the 20sF with some icy areas on the walkways. We've only been to the falls during warmer months so it was super cool to see the frozen areas around the falls plus ice below the falls. Respect nature- don't leave anything behind and the only thing you should take are pictures. Remember nature is for everyone to admire and respect and it doesn't belong to you so NO graffiti! Be sure to check out the nice gift shop near the lodge. read more
Yes, the falls are gorgeous. But for me simply too commercialized and touristy to really enjoy. We spend a lot of time on trails, and greatly enjoy taking in the beauty of any falls. I've had Snoqualmie on my list of must-sees for some time now. So during our recent hiking road trip around northern WA I planned to be sure these falls would be part of the itinerary. I knew I wouldn't be taking in the falls out in the middle of the forest, but I guess I wasn't quite prepared. Arriving at the falls had the feel of arriving at an amusement park. Packed with pushy tourists all vying for the best shot and spot. We parked at the upper falls lot and took in the view from above first where you'll find a couple overlooks. We then took the gravel path down to the lower viewing area. It's a pretty steep and crowded walk down and back, not for everyone I am sure. The lower viewpoint is fairly small, and to me it wasn't as good as the top view, so if you aren't able to walk between I'd recommend the top. Ultimately we spent much more time walking between viewpoints and people than taking in the falls. Please don't get me wrong, the falls are beautiful. And if you don't get to see falls often and don't mind crowds I'm sure you'll have fun and enjoy the experience. Just wasn't worth the hassle for me, I am just not a lover of crowds and prefer my waterfalls within the quiet of the forest. :) read more

Definitely worth the stop! You can spend as long or as short as you'd like. Parking was easy (I recommend the free lot across the street and taking the bridge across) and the upper deck viewing is just a short walk away. If you walk a little further there is a secondary viewing spot. I believe you can also hike to the lower deck for a different perspective. The falls were absolutely beautiful even on what locals said was a "light" day. read more
Simply Immaculate! Snoqualmie Falls is one of the most striking waterfalls that I've ever seen. Large, powerful, and flourishing! A visit to these falls has been on my bucket list for the past few years now, and it was absolutely worth it. The falls are only about a 30 minute drive outside of Seattle. There are two entry points; the Lower Snoqualmie Falls Viewpoint and the Upper Snoqualmie Falls Viewpoint. There are parking lots at both entrances and you can actually drive to both, but the hike between the two is pretty short. You might as well make the best out of your time here and hike from one viewpoint to the other (if you're able to). Plus, finding parking in the middle of the day can be quite tragic. The hike is about 1.5 miles roundtrip and has an elevation gain of roughly 350 feet. Although it's fairly easy, the hill going back up from the Lower to Upper Falls is pretty steep. If you want to get the hill out of the way, I'd recommend starting at the Lower Falls and then hiking up to the Upper Falls. I actually started at the Upper Falls and then hiked down first. Underestimated how steep the hill was going to be, and was basically sweating my makeup off by the time I made it to the top. I visited during mid-summer last year, so it was pretty dang hawt! If I had a redo, I'd definitely not wear jeans and makeup (especially on a hot day). I had some other activities planned that day, so that's why I was dressed that way. Both viewpoints will be pretty busy, but it's so much easier to actually see the falls from the Upper Viewpoint. There's a lot more space on the ledge to spread out, so you won't be fighting to get pictures. The Upper Falls Viewpoint is more of a distant view, but it's still absolutely gorgeous. Along with the view of the falls, you can also read up on some of the history of the falls through the posted informational placards. The hike is also pretty fun because it features several different types of trees and plant species, all of which you can read about as you make your way back to the falls. You'll be hiking through a mini forest. The Lower Falls will afford you the best view of the waterfall since you'll be viewing it from the bottom. There's a paved path that will take you to a wooden deck where the vista of the falls sits. This view point is a lot motor popular and there's also way less space. People basically line up here to take a picture in front of the walls. My patience is not the best, so I didn't wait. But, I did enjoy some time near the river. The Lower Falls grants you direct access to the Snoqualmie River. The river was literally gushing! It was so beautiful to see. There's also a cute little picnic area near the Lower Falls Parking lot, but there's not much shade. Restrooms are on site and easily accessible. They've really done a nice job with the organization of the hiking trail and scenic viewpoints of the falls. If you have some time to kill and want to take a break from the big city, a visit to Snoqualmie Falls is perfect for that. read more

This place is super cool. It was nice exploring with the family. It was rainy and cold the day we went to visit. There is discover pass parking connecting to the path. There is free parking across the street. You can take the walking bridge to avoid traffic. Next to the falls in the lodge. They have a gift shop and restaurant. If in the area, don't miss out and check this place out. read more
Absolutely beautiful views at Snoqualmie Falls and if you've never been I definitely recommend. During my visit we decided to just pay $8 for parking instead of doing free street parking and walking over. If you are interested in using their parking lot I would recommend coming early before 10 am because it does fill up. They have restrooms also that were well kept. My family and I hiked through the entire trail on our visit. It's very beautiful and my two younger kids had no problems keeping up. I noticed a gift shop, but didn't get the chance to check it out. There's also a picnic bench area with a lot of seating if you want to sit or enjoy a lunch there, etc. Also - if it's not obvious this is a touristy spot.. so if you're trying to enjoy a peaceful hike that is not crowded there are a ton of other options locally.. this is wouldn't be for you. read more

Beautiful! Very convenient to get to and a super short walk to see the awesome falls. Wasn't too crowded on a Saturday in September and the weather was great. Free parking right across the street, so take the easy bridge and get a few steps in. I have no idea why some people were paying $7 to park. There also is a hotel/spa/restaurant right there which would probably be awesome to stay at. They even appear to have giant spot lights that shine on the falls at night. This was a great stop on out mini sightseeing in Washington before I ran the Tunnel marathon the following day. The minimal walking for this view was definitely a plus! read more

Absolutely stunning! Went during the weekday to avoid crowds- best decision. Parking right by the entry is paid parking, but right across the street is free parking. Just take the bridge that is above the road to get to the other side. The view of the waterfall itself is steps away with rails for our safety. You can also hike down and up for the different views. Elevation is about 400ft, more or less. There's also a lodge with a restaurant on the property, and restrooms on site. It's an absolute magical PNW experience. read more
If you want to see what it looks like when mother nature kisses the earth, visit Snoqualmie Falls. The falls are absolutely magical, and every time I visit, I'm reminded of the beauty of nature. As a sidenote, if you've ever watched the original TV series Twin Peaks, this is one of the areas that David Lynch film the series at. This is a wonderful place to walk around, or just stand, and admire the beauty of the falls. The rush of the water, as it hits the floor of the canyon and flows down through the river, which is surrounded by beautiful trees, rocks and in the springtime flowers. It's truly breathtaking. It's worth the drive. Parking is reasonably priced and plentiful. There is a little gift shop there that is open occasionally. Scenic beauty is worth the time and effort to get there. It's truly an epic sight to behold. read more

Despite it was drizzling in mid October, we decided to take up this recommendation from travelers to visit Snoqualmie Falls when visiting Seattle. It is located about more than 1 hour away from downtown Seattle. Drive was smooth. Love seeing the change in color of trees from yellow to red. We parked across the bridge and it was a good hike round trip despite continued wet weather. Great for families and dog friendly. There is restroom outside their restaurant. Restroom located inside the lodge is only available for those staying in the lodge. If you plan on visiting Seattle, I would recommend checking this attraction especially if you like nature and hiking. read more
I visited here in mid-June with my husband and baby. The falls are really beautiful and there is a great walkway where you can see multiple views of the fall and get great pictures. Parking is free and easy, with a walkway that's attached to the main site. You can do a moderate-intensity hike to get close up to the falls. It is really worth doing! If you go on farther, there's a rocky beach that is great for relaxation, and you can even dip your feet into the water. The water was very cold! The best time to visit is May or June. I would anticipate spending about 2 hours here. I would highly recommend visiting Snoqualmie Falls to all! read more

Snoqualmie Falls is all the Pacific Northwest vibes and so much more! I knew I wanted a day out of the city and spend some time in nature. We had a FULL DAY schedule packed with things to do so it had to be quick, but still pretty. Snoqualmie Falls was the perfect spot that checked all the boxes as it is just 1/2 an hour from Seattle and simply beautiful. We got to Snoqualmie Falls around 10:00 am and the parking lot was pretty packed! There's a paid parking lot right next to the lodge and then across the way is the FREE parking lot. We managed to score prime parking in the free lot and in front of our car we spotted all these blackberries growing wildly. My other half picked a handful and said they were the sweetest blackberries he's ever had, lol. Proceed with caution if you decide to be adventurous. Anyway, from the parking lot, cross the footbridge to get to the other side and follow the path down to the viewing area. After a few minutes walk, you'll be rewarded with gorgeous views of the waterfall. Read the signage to learn a bit more about the waterfalls and the area. There are other viewing decks to get different vantage points so definitely take some time walking around a bit. We randomly ended up taking the whole trail down to the bottom of the falls which was about a mile round trip. It took about an hour-ish total and was a relatively easy hike. Unfortunately you can't really get super close to the bottom of the waterfall anymore, but it was still pretty to see nonetheless. On the way back, if you have little ones with you, be prepared to carry them as they may get tired and most of the hike is uphill. If you're hungry or thirsty, there is a gift shop next to the parking lot for drinks, snacks, and other knick knacks for a little treat after your hike. While we were next to the river, it looked like there were people rafting or doing some kind of tour, so I would definitely look into that in the future. The lodge & casino that overlooks the falls would also be the perfect spot for a getaway. I was totally getting the "Twilight" vibes the whole time as we took in the views and walked through the forest with the sunlight peeking through the canopy of trees. I loved it and it totally made me fall in love with Washington even more. Highly recommend a stop here! read more

About 45 mins from Seattle and you have to pay for parking but the waterfall is pretty cool to see. There are three different view points and the one further from the falls has the best view. There's also a visitor center for souvenirs and food and a movie that tells some history about the area. I think there might be free parking across the road that connects the two sides by a bridge. read more

Who wouldn't like Snoqualmie falls. The exotic native American name, ingenious engineering, awesome inspiring nature, and inquisitive visitors. Almost a couple of million visitors annually! Hydro electric power plant and a calming and achievable hike. read more
A gorgeous view of The Lodge! Stop by and watch for owls. ;) The falls overflow at times during heavy rainstorms. Gone are the days when we could hike down to the bottom of the falls and be near the river. Fencing has been added. There is a south park of the falls if you head west. Use GPS if needed. The side road is suddenly there was limited signage. There are two trails at that park down to the river; one is all dirt and slopes down, the other has stairs. There are picnic tables and restrooms. They've added paid parking requirements to the closest lots. Free parking is still available across the street. There are some paved pathways and tourist signage added as well. read more
I have visited this place for the first time in April 2012. Came with my friends and enjoyed the Spring time at the falls. And visited again after almost 11 years. A lot changed around this place. But the fall is still BEAUTIFUL! It's probably an hour drive from Seattle on I-90 east. Easy to access. It has two observation points. The one at the top is more popular due to the easiness of parking and the restaurant access. But if you really want to enjoy the beauty of this fall, you must go to the lower observation deck. Parking is limited. Both are photo-op spots. You can capture some nice pictures with family & friends. If you are interested there are some trails you can go to. Never tried them so far. May be in coming Summer. A BEAUTY nevertheless! read more
It's so nice being outdoors and seeing all the beauty around you, FOR FREE! We walked, talked and took tons of pictures! It was beautiful, and the smell of the water and trees are amazing. It was busy and everyone can crowd in certain areas but just wait it out. People love around fast. We spent about an hour here, walking the trail and taking pictures. The hike back up is a little tiring and might be sore the next day. Very steep uphill. Also, very dog friendly! We saw so so many dogs of all sizes! Just make sure your dog can walk 1.4 miles. I would love to come back if I have a chance. read more

It's completely paved if you just rant to view. If you wanted to hike Dien to the base, it's a super steep hike but I don't think most people do that one

You can see the top of the waterfalls from the platforms just off the parking lot by the Salish Inn, or from the lower falls parking lot and a short walk.

Don't Uber or Lyft it's better to rent a car. It's 20-25 miles east of Seattle. Good luck plus if you rent a car you can do sightseeing.
Isn't there a trail that goes from the town of Snoqualmie to the bottom of Snoqualmie Falls.?
Yes, there is. It is very pretty with a lot of tags for plants. There is also a parking lot near the bottom of the falls if you do not want to do the hike. The lot was pretty empty when I was there in early May.
