The caboose itself was the highlight of the trip for the kids. They thought it was soooo cool and loved their own little bunks up high. The caboose had its own deck area and we appreciated the amount of space we had. The kids also fell in love with the resident goats, bunnies and chickens on the property, as well as partaking in numerous games of horseshoes. The check in process was smooth and we loved the personal touch from Matt and his family. To top it off, we were rewarded with a gourmet breakfast made to order in the morning that was on par or better than any high end restaurant. We will absolutely return here next time we visit the area.

The Iron Horse Inn B&B was converted over 30 years ago from a long-empty lodging house for railroad…read moreworkers into a bed and breakfast, one I frequented over half a dozen times over the years. In late 2019 a chimney fire spread to the whole structure, luckily when there were no guests present, and the inn burned to the ground. Others might have walked away, but the owners didn't, they rebuilt it better than ever. The new Inn has four spacious bedrooms on the main floor, plus an expansive common room where one can lounge on sofas by the gas fireplace, make a cup of tea, chat with other guests. It also has tables for breakfast, which featured delicious egg dishes with eggs the owners let our granddaughter "harvest" from the chicken coop nearby when we arrived. The new inn is quite a change from "before the fire" when the original room configuration was small rooms and common bathrooms down the hallway, just the way the railway workers had it. But there's something to be said for spacious rooms and private bathrooms, as it is now. Over the years the inn also acquired four cabooses. These have been open while the inn itself was rebuilt, but without breakfast as there was no common room or kitchen for that. Breakfast in the main inn building is now part of the deal for the cabooses. Our adult son and his wife and two kids (7& 11) were over the moon over the experience of sleeping in a caboose! They all shared one of the two cabooses that have child-sized beds in the former cupula sitting area atop the caboose. The adults had the queen bed on the main level of the caboose and the kids were up high, similar to the top bunk of a bunk bed, with windows giving them a 360 view when the curtains were pulled back. We are SO happy to see the Iron Horse Inn B&B back at "full steam" again. Our room, the common room and the caboose were spanking clean, the breakfast tasty and filling, the coffee endless, the hosts some of the friendliest b&b owners we've encountered over the years. The Inn is also connected by a short path to the former rail yard of the Milwaukee Road train line that closed up shop in the 1970s. Train buffs will want to spend a bit of time walking around a self-guided tour of the train yard, where the station is still there in fading glory, and remains of the former roundhouse and other structures may be examined like archeological ruins. This is also a great area for biking, and many years ago I led a bike club trip from the inn. Quiet country roads parallel I-90 for many miles in both directions and also off to Roslyn and Lake Cle Elum, and the path of the Milwaukee Road train line is now a bike path that runs from the Seattle suburbs to points east of the Columbia River.

Beware of which room you book!…read more Suncadia was our pandemic favorite since we for once wanted to drive somewhere close: not fly! And take our fur baby too. We used to do a lot more Oregon coast or Whistler but with border closing and Oregon shutting down! Can't do much. Love: we love suncadia. Our recent trip this month was for my birthday. So I decided to splurge and get a penthouse. We didn't need that much room but figured why not! Not all rooms were created equal. That's for sure! We checked into our penthouse to find deli fried chicken someone left in the fridge, m&ms under bed, dust all over! Especially behind the tv stand, very visible area. Also candy wrappers on the floor. It was very poorly cleaned especially for pandemic! I went to front desk and showed them the photos of all the dust, chicken and candy wrappers. The girl was nice apologized and gave us resort credit. You can use it only in the lodge building restaurant/ bar and gift shops. Which came in handy later when we found out the fridge didn't work and ended up having to dump all our food. Also: Devon from front desk: first told me he'd check with manager for changing rooms. Later, turned out he was the manger. That was weird and left a sour taste. Back to the room: It's a full size massive fridge. I brought cakes, food and other perishable items in cooler bags with ice. Also a blue tooth device for the fridge just to keep the temperature in checked. It took 4-5 hours for the fridge to cool down / below 50 degrees. Ended up having to dump the food because food in warm fridge? Just unnecessary! They can't do much to help except give me ice. They did send someone up but he told me he doesn't trust anything with smart phone devices. And told me I was wrong. aka the blue tooth's temperature! Overall, love suncadia and previous stays. Hate suncadia penthouse stay/ experience!! Would not come back for this. Or if we do, definitely skipping the penthouse!Too many errors for one room. Totally not worth it and ruined our happy spot. We still made it happy somewhat. But all the stress could've been avoided!

This is a really nice campground right off I-90 east of Snoqualmie pass. The place is HUGE. I'm…read morenot sure how many camping sites there are but expect to drive a good distance from the front gate to your site. Lots to do including a horse back riding, a crazy big water slide and nearby hiking trails. The one thing I don't like about this place is that it is very close to the intertstate and there is always some background noise. It is not a wilderness experience to be sure. However it is a great family camp ground for a reasonable price.

The water pump didn't work either, but maybe it was just frozen. There is also only one trail, the Discovery Trail, which is a very short but pleasant walk. My friends and I came on a cold and rainy weekend to break in the season but still managed to enjoy ourselves. We stayed at Site 8 which was large and private. This campground is convenient to get to and we will probably come back to this one another time. Would recommend for a quick and easy weekend getaway but there's not a lot to do for a longer trip if you're not driving offsite to other trails.

We slept outside without a tent (July) and we planned to set up a mosquito net but there weren't any mosquitos. I liked the bear lockers at each site. Sites are a bit close together. No showers or bathrooms. There are pit bathrooms and while they are clean they smell terrible. Lots of dogs, but all well behaved. There is a TA travel stop a few miles away where you can get showers for $18. There is a Safeway a couple exits away if you need anything. Convenient location.
