We got in late when we arrived but had no problem with checkin. It is easy to find and has a small car park. Our room was clean and the bed firm but comfy. We were plenty comfortable with a fan circulating air. They had nice tips on things to do and restaurants to eat in. I'd happily stay again.

Luckily I heard of this place. Situated near Llandberis and down a long windy 5 mph road is this gorgeous farm house. Strangely enough their website is poor..yes we know it's a place to stay..but did you know that anyone can pay £8 to use the sauna and pool? Or even better £19.95 to use the pool, sauna AND enjoy a two course meal after? So we arrived around 11am while the kids were off school and was greeted by the lovely receptionist who id spoken to via the phone previously. After checking in, we were provided towels and directions how to reach the pool. The changing rooms were TINY..one small cubicle, a sink and a fold down baby chance unit..stalk like I had to balance on one leg to undress while trying to remove my knickers..without dropping my clothes on the sodden floor!! Annoyance cast aside we went to the sauna while the pool quietened down . Both sauna and pool were not the largest but did the job. After RE dressing we walked into the restaurant where we were informed it was busy. Graciously a waiter led us to a quiet conservatory where we could eat privately. The menu consisted of veggie risottos, steaks, seafood and other posh pub grub. We all chose the eggs Benedict with smoked haddock for starters, for mains I had the seafood tagliatelle , while my mom and sis chose the fish and chips. The starter arrived promptly, well seasoned cooked and perfect presentation...but we were left for awhile afterwards , no one checked about our situation or our meal.. Mains arrived in good proportion, however mine was very weighed down with mayonnaise like sauce..the girls enjoyed their hand cooked chips and lightly battered fish . Overall for £20 each for a swim, sauna, and two course meal I find this ideal. But why not advertise this on their website?? Also they need to increase their changing room size..and slightly modernise it all.

In general the building seems well maintained, but some of the public areas were being patched and re-painted whilst I was there. My room was spacious and comfortable with free DVD movie rental which is a nice touch. The cooked breakfast was better than most, although 3 staff members were chatting loudly by the entrance which is unacceptable at the level they are trying to pitch, although the rest of the time they were generally very good. Bar snacks are good, but the food and drinks are relatively expensive: expect dinner in the restaurant to cost £30+ per head. Overall though I'd return: especially if I wanted a quiet nice weekend away with a friend. It is a lovely quiet, calm rural location.

The kitchen/living room is well equipped (we enjoyed a superb home cooked dinner) and the living room is comfortable. The bedroom is upstairs and the bed was extremely comfortable. The bathroom was well equipped with a good choice of bathing products (just in case you forgot your own). We only booked short notice, so the cottage was not available on the last night, so we switched to the B&B. The room was large and the equipped with the usual : Sky TV, Tea Making, etc. The beds were comfortable. The owners , Tim & Kerry are very friendly and Tim cooks a fab English Breakfast! Will definitely be returning next time we visit North Wales.

Now all Liverpudlians and the rest of ya hearrrr me now!!! If you truly want to escape for a weekend or a night during the week. Escape B&B really is a find. By golly they really have taken the concept of B&B to a whole new level. Once you've been here the idea of B&B will be transformed in your head. With only 9 rooms you'd want to keep coming back until you have experienced each and every room. It will only be fair if I give my brief estimation on each room. Why? Because attention to detail turns me on. 1) The first room for example is attention to detail personified. "Contemporary eclectic" may well have some hidden artistic meaning, for me it is a strange fusion between 70's colour schemes and dark modern contemporary features that grow on you. 2) The second room "Urban cool" justifies its name, the room has a minimalistic theme. I love that word and what it stands for, minimalist!!!!!! Must be my undying love for the movie Wall Street and Sheen's minimalist pad he buys when finding his riches with Gecko!! Must be....hmm.. this double bedroom has a boombastic chocolate leather headboard with concealed back lighting which are too cool for school, sexy as hell!! 3) For the next room not that artistes amongst you will not like the other rooms but the Contemporary deco room really will turn on your lights. Stepping in here makes you feel like you are in a Milanese art dealer's home. 4) Retro green is the only one that doesn't take my fancy but I'm sure it will rub someone up the right way. In fact if you ask me it is hideous, but each to their own. It seems to me when they were building/rennovating it they ran out of money couldn't afford to repaint the hideous green walls and decided to be clever and make it a retro green. I hope they did anyway because if it was on purpose je detestez silvouz plait commencez allez!!!! 5) The same cannot be said for the retro red room however, which does carry bit of personality, perhaps it is the chesterfield black leather headboard. The 70's style lights are also fantastic. 6) The Boudoir has to be one of the finest rooms here. It really is all in the name and the theme is so complimentary of a romantic yet suggestive nature. One that will turn on almost anyone. Plus how often do you get to lie in your "boudoir" and admire the LED wallpaper encrusted with crystals, right? 7) For the next offering escape into the space dimensions of your mind in the calm & light room. Spending time in here is an uplifting experience. You see normally the point of B&Bs is just a place to sleep while you do other stuff during the day. This isn't on of those places. You want to spend time in this room with its floating bed. As soon as the sun goes down then on come the mood lighting featured in both the overbed canopy and below the bed itself. I am in love with these lightings effect in the bedroom, off I go to Ikea to copy the theme here. 8) Modern Romance themed room is strictly catering for a female audience. Personally I did find it hideous once more. The wall paper is ridiculous, and it feels like a dust gathering 1940's apartment. The bathroom especially with a tacky "bathe" sign and units just an afterthought, the room is not my cup of tea. 9) Which brings me to the grand finale that is the last room in the loft. I really have saved the best to last. This gem of a room just seems to bring out the giddiness of childhood in me, at the same time catering for the adult appreciation for great design and specification of an immaculately designed living space. For some reason it also makes me feel like I'm in a pad in New York. The limited amount of space available is utilized in the most precise fashion, pimping it up to the max. Just look at the two sets of stairs going up to the bed as if it's a throne or something almost holy is about to happen once you reach your destination. This place is priceless, never mind Paris Je T'aime. Escape B&B je t'aime!!!!! You have no excuses people, 5* B&B and as good as it gets indeed, and I haven't even mentioned the amazing views from the rooms. Boom!!

We were welcomed and told all about the house in a really friendly manner and offered a drink before being taken up to our room on the top floor. We stayed in the loft which was a split level apartment. The room was furnished to a high quality and included an ipod dock & tv/dvd system, dvds for which were available from downstairs as well as an honesty bar. The manager gave us excellent recommendations for dinner and a two course breakfast was served in the dining room from 9. Very much recommended should you find yourself on the North coast of Wales

I honestly wanted to just stay in the cosy, beautiful room and watch the UK top 40 on my tv all day long and rest and relax and enjoy life. forget the ridiculously expensive hotels that face the sea. this place is a hop, skip and a jump from the boardwalk. and nothing beats the service of a bed and breakfast. so personal and friendly! It's a family-owned and managed bed and breakfast and i swear if i'm ever lucky enough to return to Wales, I'm staying here again. I was on a 2-week long trip to Europe and going all over the place and had a huge suitcase with me and i didn't know there was no elevator. I have a bunch of herniated discs in my neck and lower back so I'd asked if anyone could help me with the suitcase and his young daughter said that she'd take care of it for me and i looked and her and said oh gosh no, let's do it together! but then her dad came by and did it himself and insisted on it and not taking a tip and i felt so horrid but so grateful. they also helped with directions and suggestions on where to go and what to see. i didn't have breakfast there but they have a beautiful breakfast area and people there were enjoying their Welsh b'fast. i grabbed some juice and was off to explore this phenomenal and unbelievably friendly town of Llandudno. The room was super clean, the bed was super comfortable, the tv had a million channels including American ones, but who's watching American tv in Wales? not me! the bathroom was excellent. great water pressure, abundance of hot water, the shower area might be small for an american dude but it was perfect for me. the day i left i had to catch an early train to london and the owner's son was SO kind and woke up at 5A.M. just to help me lug that damn suitcase downstairs. WHO DOES THAT???? i insisted on tipping and thanked him profusely. and in case you're wondering, that suitcase finally died in London and i bought a smaller suitcase to fly home with. so don't worry guys, next time i'll handle my suitcase myself ;)

There is no parking, as advertised and I didn't think it would be as much of a problem as it was. In the end only parked 5-10 minute walk away and it was free. The outside of this place is one of the best in Llandudno let alone the street. It looks like it should be some where warmer, there are palm trees and everything is a sandy colour. The room itself is on the top floor, there were sloping ceilings and a very dark corner of the room but it is well decorated as is the bathroom. There is a bath with a shower attachment which cannot be mounted to the wall because of the low ceilings. The bathroom itself is large and airy with good lighting. The only pet peeve I have is it is fitted with a saniflow pipe system, this is when there is a box plumbed into the toilet and all pipes from bath and sink go directly into it and it pumps water out of that part of the house; usually used when there is no existing plumbing. The noise, oh the noise. I'm surprised we didn't have complaints when both of you want a bath and the water has to drain through that motor. The breakfast room was beautifully decorated with bay windows and a filling again like you should be abroad somewhere, the food was delicious and the portions good considering that it was free. Staff were friendly and courteous. I would stay again, but would think hard about it in the busy times for parking. I would also request a room on the lower floors.

The amenities were exceptional - an ensuite bathroom with a shower, a small refrigerator pre-stocked with water bottles and snacks, bathrobes, slippers and more. But even more than all that, Eileen was a wonderful hostess. Her thoughtful suggestions made our trip more enjoyable. She knows innumerable details about towns, gardens, hikes, etc. Although we had a car, she suggested that we consider taking the train to some locations (Conwy and Blaenau Ffestiniog). We did so, and enjoyed the scenery and were more relaxed when we got there. They helped make dinner reservations for us at a couple of local restaurants (which can get quite busy on the weekends). When you stay here I suggest telling Eileen where you're planning to go and get her advice. You'll be glad you did. They have a reading nook on the first floor with guidebooks, pamphlets and other material on Wales, the Welsh language, and everything in the area. Breakfasts were excellent. My better half greatly enjoyed the porridge and I particularly liked their scrambled eggs and smoked salmon. The center of town is a ten minute walk. You'll find a number of restaurants (including the superb Olif for Welsh tapas), train station, and a visitor center for Snowdonia national park.

A couple things I'd highlight: -We met one of the owners (Colin, I believe) and he was super welcoming and suggested a great local restaurant around the corner called Watsons Bistro. -The rooms are very tasteful and the beds are comfortable. -The breakfast was tasty and the service was great. -The chapel is really very beautiful/special/fantastic/all the adjectives. -We parked right outside the walls for a cheap price. It was only a few minutes walk. No big deal. Conwy and Snowdonia were our favorite places to visit on our Wales trip, and the Gwynfryn Guest House definitely contributed to that! We would happily go back.

As of last Sunday 5/20/2017~ish, the new kitchen and breakfast room has been relocated to the old church chapel - it's awesome! So, the room I stayed in was in the "vestry" and was superb! All brand new, clean and cozy - the room was perfect! The ensuite bathroom was very nice (only needed some hand soap.) During my recent trip, I stayed twice, but a week apart...kinda coming and going. Both visits were stellar. Colin was extremely cool and accommodating (only met Monica briefly - she was quite friendly). I'm not sure how soon I'll be back, but I will only stay at Gwynfryn during my next visit to Conwy - it was PERFECT! 5 stars...so SOLID!

I stayed at Mairlys for 3 nights this past spring over the royal wedding weekend (I had to get out…read moreof London for that). Normally I'm not a B&B type, especially travelling solo, but I was very happy with my stay at Mairlys. I had their single room, which I don't think was used too often (I could be wrong) but it was still kept clean & was ready for use. The room had a bathroom, but the shower was in the hall just outside. Technically its a shared shower room, but even with the house full I had it to myself. Bernard & Marian were great hosts. The breakfasts (I always got the full Welsh breakfast) were very well prepared and for my trip up Snowdon they made me a nice take away breakfast & lunch that was ready early in the morning. Its in a great location on the main road not far from the railroad & center of town & its an easy walk to everything. Someday I'd like to get back to North Wales & Betws-y-Coed, & when I do I I'd defintely stay here again.
