I highly recommend people stay far away from this breeder. Years ago I had purchased one of her kittens and it died within 30 days of me having her. I was given a replacement. Fast-forward years later, my replacement looks nothing like a true Siberian. My cat never developed the 3 layers of fur. We had adopted an 11 week old kitten, named Penny, from Anastasia in Jan, 2023, who to our knowledge is healthy. She is a sweet, precious 2 1/2 year old. She and our Samoyed, Sully, quickly became best friends:) However, our Sully died last August, and it was evident that Penny really missed her buddy. So, in Dec. of 2024 I reached out to Anastasia to see if she might have a litter of kittens that would be available next summer. She got back to me right away saying she had 2 five month old sisters available right away and would give me a "deal" if I'd take them both. Against my better judgment, I purchased "Abby", one of the two in Jan. of this year. At my first vet appointment with Abby, she was diagnosed with Giardia. We, of course, had to treat both Abby and our older kitty, Penny. I contacted Anastasia to advise her to treat all cats at her residence since Abby obviously came with Giardia (Penny tested negative). She told me Giardia happens occasionally with all breeders (but I don't believe this to be true with breeders who have strict hygiene procedures). Abby was adorable (as all kittens are) until she died quickly of FIP on March 28. We had been traveling for two weeks prior to her death and family members (who were caring for our kitties) were devastated at how she became ill so quickly. It is a horrific illness and horrible to watch a kitten die of this! I realize a breeder is not "responsible" for causing FIP. However, in reading more of the reviews of Anastasia and her breeding practices, I, along with the two veterinarians who treated Abby, feel she bears some responsibility. Kittens that develop FIP are often "stressed", due to a crowded cattery, and knowing she came with Giardia, Anastasia's sanitary conditions in her cattery are questionable. I'm now wondering why Anastasia had these 2 five month old kittens that she was anxious to get rid of? Especially since there are such waiting lists for Siberians at most reputable breeders. Another red flag (that I ignored) was when we asked Anastasia about Abby's parents. She quickly told us the mother's name, but was vague when I asked a couple times for information about the father. I believe she didn't know which male was Abby's father, because in reading other reviews, it appears she allows some males and females random access to each other. Once Abby was diagnosed with FIP, I ordered the newly approved drug to treat her and paid for overnight delivery. Tragically, Abby died that evening, before the drug arrived. She was inconsolable, going to the litter box several times, trying to urinate. She lay lifeless on my lap with a bloated belly (after the ER vet had removed 450 mls. of yellow fluid from her abdomen the day before). I reached out to Anastasia about Abby, and she was sympathetic at first, saying she hadn't seen a kitten with FIP for a long time. I hadn't purchased pet insurance (my mistake), because quite frankly, I'd never had an issue with the many cats we have had over the years. I listed my expenses for our 3 months with Abby: almost $5000. I told Anastasia I didn't want another kitten (I'm still devastated). However, in light of the reviews I read after Abby's death, I asked Anastasia to reimburse me the cost of Abby: $1800. I have not heard from her since! I believe Anastasia suspected that Abby wasn't healthy, and thus was anxious to sell her. I encouraged her to read more about Giardia (and it's transmission) and also FIP, and the early warning signals (Abby was only a little over 5 pounds at 5 months old when we got her). She was the same weight when she died, after one pound of fluid was removed. If Anastasia had called to talk to me, or even offered to split the $1800 that I had just paid her for Abby not even 3 months earlier, I might not feel so badly. I cannot recommend her to other folks looking for a Siberian. There are many reputable breeders, who don't sell kittens with Giardia or kittens who die of FIP, shortly after adopting them. We purchased 2 kittens from Anastasia. Both had giardia w/ diarrhea which we treated. One of them got a very bloated belly which ended up being FIP. We had to put that kitten down at 7 months of age. My 9 year old daughter was completed devastated. A year later and she still cries over her kitten in heaven. It's completely heartbreaking. Update: Please listen to the other negative reviews and save yourself enormous heartache and expense. There are many customers saying the same things about their kittens. Maybe it's a coincidence, but it's worth considering. Also know that anyone who says anything negative about her gets publicly attacked - see her Facebook page, the thread on the complaints board, comments here on yelp. The cat we purchased from Snowy Hollow was sick from the moment he arrived home. I can't say for sure if Anastasia knew he was sick or not, but she did report that he wasn't gaining weight very quickly and had to clean him up before we picked him up. We loved him fiercely and did everything we could for him, but he did pass away at just two years old from his chronic stomach issues. You may not have the same issue I did, but PLEASE do some research around the practices of a reputable breeder (not letting you see the kittens before taking one is a huge red flag, for example) and consider very carefully. Siberians are beautiful cats with awesome personalities, and they make amazing companions, and there are several very good and highly reputable breeders in the Midwest who would be a great choice. read more

This was probably the most heartbreaking experience I have ever had. First off, at the beginning the experience was great. Anastasia was in contact with me and continued showing me updates on the kitten. I wish I had really listened to the review prior to mine. (visit the complaint boards.com page and you will get all the answers you need). Anyways, I was super happy that I was getting a Siberian colorpoint kitten (my first kitten!) and we had arranged for the kitten to come by plane to my location. The sitter that brought the kitten through the plane kept notifying me as well and i was informed that the Milo (my kitten) had mild diarrhea. I was told it was normal as the cat had gone through so much stress. I took him to a local vet as the diarrhea kept happening for about 1 month. The local vet told me it was Giarrdia (parasites) that were causing it. This was semi-minor issue and we gave him antibiotics. Later that week, we rushed to the ER because Milo started having breathing issues and his eyes became filled with mucus. I am new to owning cats so i was super concerned because I felt this was not normal. The ER vet told me it was a URI - Upper Respiratory Infection (which is also known as a kitty cold). I contacted Anastasia and never heard back from her from this point onwards. I did not message her a hostile message. It basically asked if she has ever had this happen to any other cat and if so, what did she do. No reply. We paid over 300$ to get all these issues resolved. My kitten is now 7 months old and faces a severe issue. FIP - a fatal disease. I read through the complaint boards.com page and noticed several other people that have dealt with FIP with this breeder. Milo no longer eats or drinks and has fluid in his abdomen which is extremely dangerous. I was hopeful that it may not be FIP but something else, but after reading all of these reviews and having consultations with multiple vets, it is for sure FIP. Update: We had to put down Milo as he completely stopped moving and basically gave up. I miss him dearly as he was a member of our home. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THIS MESSAGE LIGHTLY AND DO NOT BUY FROM SNOWY HOLLOW. She messaged us saying she would give a full refund or replace the cat (we do not want to replace the cat as others might be infected). After contacting her after we put Milo down, we received no replies. I don't even care about the money, putting kittens through this is just so horrible. read more

I have nothing but positive things to say about my experience with Snowy Hollow Siberian Cats. My husband and I adopted a kitten, Leonidas (Leo), from Anastasia in mid-September and she was easy to contact and eager to answer any questions we had both before we took home our new baby, as well as after. We had initially intended to get kitten from a litter she was going to have available in early August, but due to circumstances changing with our move we asked if we would be able to transfer our reservation to the subsequent litter, that would be ready to go to their forever homes in mid-September. She was very flexible with this and made it easy for us to reserve the exact kitten we wanted once he became available. She provided us with her recommendations on good food, activities, veterinary care, grooming, etc. and made us feel that we were well prepared to welcome our new family member. We have another cat as well and she worked with us to answer our questions about integrating the two of them. We had our kitten shipped from her location in Illinois to Denver, CO, and the process went off seamlessly. Anastasia dedicated time to connecting with a pet companion who would be able to fly with our kitten (he was in a carrier and flew in the cabin with her) and deliver him at a time that fit our schedules. We were able to easily contact this woman before her flight departed, as well as once she landed, and found her in the airport with no difficulty! Leo had all his medical records and necessary documentation sent along with him, and he was (and is) in great health! Since then we have had our little man for slightly over two months and absolutely could not imagine our lives without him. He is the biggest love bug and lives to follow us (and his cat sister, Mila) all around the house. He is incredibly playful and constantly tries to jump onto any high surface that he can manage (considering he will grow considerably from this point, I'm sure eventually nothing in our house will be out of reach). Also, he is probably the most adorable cat I have ever laid eyes on (even though I may be a *tad* biased). If you are looking to buy a Siberian I highly recommend getting in touch with Anastasia, and I guarantee you will not be disappointed! read more

Let me start off by saying that this was a horrible experience and it continues to be so. I purchased a kitten, I call him Percy, from Snowy Hollow last year. I had never bought a cat from a breeder before so I really didn't know what to expect. When I initially contacted Anastasia, I was thrilled that a kitten was available. I was a little nervous as $1200 was a lot of money, but I thought it was worth it because we have allergies and I know this breed is good for allergy sufferers. I asked her if I could come and see her cattery. She was so nice and explained she didn't feel comfortable having customers come to her home. That was my first flag I shouldn't have ignored. We decided to meet halfway from our homes. Percy was so cute! We we're so excited. My daughter was with me and she was instantly in love. I did have reservations when we were there. I thought Percy looked a little off. His one eye was smaller than the other, slightly. I wasn't sure so I asked her about it. She told me that it was normal for kittens to sometimes be stressed out from the car ride. That stuff like that happens all the time. I didn't listen to my gut. I instead looked at my daughter's face and she wanted him so bad, so I took him. I scheduled an appointment with the vet the very next day. I spoke with him and talked about the symptoms that showed overnight. Percy's eye was extremely watery and he had lots of hard mucus stuck in his nose. The vet confirmed that he had an upper respiratory infection. This went on and off for months. There were several doctor visits and medications. We finally got everything under control. I was unhappy and stressed. I was also was very upset because despite his symptoms not being life threatening, I was sold a kitten that was already sick. His last episode was that one of his eyes stayed dilated and his third eyelid closed up. Anastasia didn't offer any options at first. I really struggled on whether or not I should give him back, but that wasn't an option. She finally mentioned that as a possibility but I still wasn't happy. I had fallen in love with this little guy. Spending $1200 makes you really upset when you have to spend hundred and hundred more because a breeder knowingly sold a sick cat. Honestly I would have just appreciated honesty. I understand cats get sick. But she tried to hide it. One night, I posted a complaint on Complaintboards.com. and I left a low review on her business Facebook page. I honestly think it's our rights as consumers to say if we are happy or not. I mean, her Facebook page gives you an option to do so! Anastasia was upset when she saw it. She promptly deleted my review and disabled them completely from her Facebook page. I was also blocked. She told me that she couldn't believe that I would do something to take food out of her kids mouths. It was like I was the bad guy here. She told me the offer to take Percy back and give me a new kitten was off the table because of the bad reviews I left her. I didn't want to give him up anyway, but I wanted to see if she stood behind her word. I told her that she could always try and satisfy her customer and the review could be updated or deleted by me. Completely reasonable. She said no and stopped contact. I sent her my neuter paperwork as per our contract and asked for my CFA paperwork but never received it nor have I ever received a response. Now a year later, I am still dealing with this because my complaint opened up the floodgates. There were at least four other customers who all expressed similar problems with the health of their kittens. Then Anastasia started commenting on the complaint. It started getting ugly. She was attacking others in the comments. Then she had one of her friends from another cattery start commenting. She started attacking everyone. She posted as a fellow consumer but she was later exposed as a cattery owner as well. She was vicious. One of the posters had actually had their kitten have to be out down it was so sick. It's so sad really. If you search for this cattery at the website, you can see how it all went down. When her friend was exposed, she decided to come back and pretend it wasn't her and she stated that Anastasia nhad given her all of our contact information and that she was going to have her lawyer contact us. That is a huge no no. Anastasia gave out all of our personal contact information to this other breeder for the sole purpose of harassing us. If you value your privacy, do not do business with this woman. She never asked for our consent to give it out. No business should ever do that. I don't know how this will all play out. We might have to file a complaint with the FTC. I'm not sure, but I am here, one year later, being harassed and threatened. One whole year later! In the end I have a cat I love who does have intermittent health issues, but we manage it. Wouldn't trade him for the world, but I will tell you this, I paid $1200 for a world of headache and stress. read more

I would be very wary of this breeder, as was mentioned in other reviews, that cats are often sold sick, and that a big red flag is that she won't let you visit the cats whatsoever before pickup, which is very important with the cat I purchased. I purchased an adult cat who was supposed to be a breeder, but they decided he wasn't right for their program so they had him neutered, and found out he had kidney disease from that process. His name was Yantar, and he was sold to me for $100 as he had kidney disease and was only being sold to find him a home who can care for those needs, which I have experience with due to my last cat who had kidney disease and passed due to complications. My girlfriend who is studying to be a veterinary nutritionist took a look at the previous vets records and thought the diagnosis was incorrect, especially with the indicators of the kidney disease fading, so when I got Yantar, I took him to two different vets, both of which confirmed that it was not kidney disease, and so I tried to get to the bottom of his issues. Similar to the others cats mentioned in reviews, he also had consistent diarrhea for the month that I had him. Through many vet visits, tests, and about $1,000 later, I still don't know whats wrong since it wasn't any detectable infection nor parasite, and I was financially ready for a high but consistent kidney support care plan, but I couldn't afford extreme and fruitless vet bills, so I attempted to go through the process of returning him, since the family, at least the daughter, had expressed extreme interest in taking him back at any time, and they only were selling him due to health concerns. Once returned I advised her to run more tests to check for other possibilities of health concern, and recommended she try a vet that didn't falsely diagnose kidney disease, but I have yet to hear back on her taking any steps despite asking kindly multiple times. I did return him after about two weeks, which wasn't particularly Anastasia's fault since they were in a car accident during a vacation, but she was unpleasant and seemed disinterested in taking him back during that two week process. This as well as another review that said a refund takes food out of her children's mouths leads me to think that Anastasia treats her cats more like a product and business rather than living beings, and anyone who knows much about cat breeding knows that responsible breeders don't turn a profit, and shouldn't run their breeding like a business, but a hobby to help the breed and treat cats properly. She also seems to run the inner workings of her cattery poorly, as she mentioned she lets her males and all other cats free roam, meaning that the litters aren't planned at all and breed as they please, which is very irresponsible, as well as Yantar came to me smelling of faint smoke, which means that she either has a smoking home and tried to hide it, or she smokes in the car which also had her children in it, either way she is creating an unhealthy environment for her, her kids, and her cats. Aside from health issues, I also was returning Yantar due to mental issues, where I fully disclosed that I live in a full-time working home, so no one is home for about 8 hours, and that I have no other cats but may get one more in the next six months, and she said it would be fine, it turned out to not be fine as he was restless, no matter how much I played with him and tried to tend to his needs while I could, he was constantly yowling at exits to leave, clawing at walls, doors, and the floor(which she also mentioned that he used scratching posts perfectly yet he barely touched them compared to all other scratching), which occurred at all hours, leading to a lack of sleep for all parties involved. When mentioned to Anastasia, she mentioned that she knew this wouldn't work out if we worked full time and that she never let anyone who works full time purchase any animals from her, when we fully disclosed that we worked before. He also had trouble eating, he rejected at least 9 brands of food, including the ones Anastasia claimed he ate at the cattery and liked. This was likely a result of whatever illness he has, as lack of hunger is a common symptom in ill cats. After a time we were unwilling to continue to fund large vet bills to no avail when we were already supposed to know what was wrong, his lack of eating, and his mental instability, I felt it was in the best interest of everyone that he be returned to Anastasia. This was overall a horrible experience and I don't recommend getting any animal from her, under any circumstance, as with the amount of reviews about health issues and such, it isn't a worthwhile risk to take. read more
