Example: clothing - infant to youth size, dancewear, dresswear, sleepwear shoes - rain boots, sneakers, boots toys, books, games, puzzles baby gear - high chairs, strollers, bassinets The place does have a ton of stuff and they look pretty new, washed and cleaned. Entire place is organized by sizes. They have more of the baby clothes such as the onesie than the size 10-12 and youth sizes. They also have free parking which is a bonus. Customer service is a hit or miss, some are unpleasant while others are helpful and friendly. Another thing great about this place is that you can bring in kids items to sell on the spot. They review your items and you get paid in cash, cheque if it's over $50. Note: -there is a line-up of first come, first serve -it does take a while to sort through items (think about an hour for each person) -they don't take all the items, ONLY a select few -items must be clean and in almost new condition -items should be brought into the store in a bin The only thing that would make this place better is the pricing of the items they take. It would be nice to have more transparency on how the pay out for the items are. They just mention its through a computer. Helpful advice: -better to bring more than less as they only take a select few -better to bring items that are needed for that season (ex: rain boots for spring)

I just experience racial profiling at Once Upon a Child. I am extremely disappointed by my recent…read moreexperience at Once Upon a Child, a store I have faithfully supported for the last six years. I came in to purchase clothing for my child after buying a printer for a new sublimation project I'm excited to start. While checking out, I realized I had not transferred enough money into the correct account yet. I politely asked if I could purchase a few sweaters for my child first (around $70-$78 worth) and place the remaining items on hold while I quickly transferred the rest of the funds and came back to complete the purchase. The employee helping me was absolutely wonderful kind, friendly, patient, and engaging. We were chatting about my upcoming business projects, and the interaction was going very well. However, when she asked the manager for assistance, the entire experience changed. From the moment the manager became involved, I felt immediately uncomfortable. Instead of handling the situation with professionalism or basic understanding, I was treated with suspicion and accused of potentially "shorting the company." She repeatedly emphasized not wanting the store to be "shorted $78," despite the fact that I was actively trying to complete the purchase and had already shown proof of previous transactions on my account from today and the day before. I have shopped at this location for years without ever having a single issue. To suddenly be treated as though I was attempting to scam the store was humiliating and deeply upsetting. The interaction left me feeling profiled and discriminated against as one of the very few Black customers in the store at the time. Whether intentional or not, the treatment I received felt rooted in racial bias and harmful assumptions. To make matters worse, I left the store having already paid $78 and without any clothing in hand. I was told to come back once the payment posted to my account and that the purchase would "allegedly" be honored at that point. The entire situation was unnecessary, embarrassing, and handled in a way that made me feel dehumanized rather than valued as a long-term customer. If the owner sees this review, I want you to know that this was my genuine experience at your store. Your manager made me feel as though, based solely on the color of my skin, I was someone who was trying to short or scam the company. Whether you intended to create that kind of environment or not, that is exactly how I was made to feel. As someone who has consistently supported this business and spent hundreds of dollars here over the years for my child, I never expected to be treated this way. Unfortunately, after this experience, I will not be returning, and I feel compelled to warn others especially Black families and customers about how I was treated here. No customer deserves to feel degraded, stereotyped, or racially profiled while simply trying to shop for their child.

I am a firm believer in educational, crafty and creative toys and this place is the best. They carry such an array of toys. Some are eco-friendly and all are age appropriate. It is definitely geared to the younger child but there are some creative items for the child approaching teens. The prices are very decent as well which is also a bonus for parents. We will definitely be back and telling our families with the babes as well.

But for the amazing, creative, active little ankle-biters in my extended menagerie, I shop for their gifts at Pedagogy, purveyors of cool toys, books, puzzles and game for the kidlets - including a cool wooden puzzle for one car-n-truck-n-bus obsessed little guy and beautiful wooden musical instruments for one future headbanger. For older kids, they've got board games, craft supplies and science kits. They also carry a small selection of super-sweet baby gear - much of it made of organic and/or fair trade materials, and emphasizing local companies. It's a small independent business, and the proprietor gives great service, including helping me pick out gifts (I'm afraid of kids, what should I get, what should I get?) and, my favourite part, offering gift wrapping. I LOVE stores that will gift wrap for you. It's like 10 million extra points you just earned there. And she does a lovely job with that bumblebee paper and ribbon, too.

We called on 2 separate occasions to try and get the mattress exchanged. Chris demanded that I measure the mattress to prove to him that I knew the difference between a twin and a double.... Common on! When I said we need to have this exchanged he was rude and and unhelpful... and hung up on me. This type of service .... Once you paid for the product, the company becomes unhelpful, seems unwise in the current economy. I think there are lots of other options for purchasing a mattress, and unless you want to squeeze into a twin.... I would recommend you buy your mattress elsewhere. Frustrated and crowded.

The two young men making the delivery were very polite and even though one only had to make one step to step into the entrance of our home protected his shoes with a covering. The only regret I have is that I should have asked those two young men to do assembly as I suffer from arthritic pain 50 dollar fee would have been a price well worth it to me . At 81 years of age I like to exercise me Brain as often as possible even though in this case inappropriate.

They had no delivery scheduled for me. I contacted the Coquitlam location where I purchased it and was told the salesperson I'd bought it from would call me after her break. That did not happen, instead I got a text from a bot asking if I would now like to schedule my delivery? So I called again and finally got to talk to the salesperson I'd purchased from who said she'd look into it and get back to me. Then received a text asking about another date to schedule it. I said have a manager contact me. After talking with the manager I explained that I live in a high rise with a concierge desk and the elevator must be booked and paid for here in ADVANCE, and on top of that the concierge is only available until 4pm. So now I have to get up tomorrow morning just to explain this last second cancellation and hope that they have elevator availability for the new date. Now I have to hope I'm even allowed to use the elevator that day AND hope that the couch will actually come this time because apparently booking a delivery with Ashley doesn't actually mean anything. What was done to make up for this bs runaround and complete inconvenience? Absolutely nothing. 0 f's given. Do yourself a favour and just go to the brick or somewhere else where they actually know how to keep customers and stay in business. In this economy with places going under and locations closing every time you blink you'd think they would do better. I have a whole place to furnish but I can promise no further furniture will be coming from Ashley.

We knew what brand and model we were looking for, so the decision was pretty easy and likely made it easy for the sales person as well. When we called the store prior to arrival, we were informed the TV was "in stock," but perhaps shame on us for not clarifying "where in stock" the TV was. Having visited two other competing stores and traveled in from a suburb under time constraints and weekend plans for company coming, we were left with about 45 minutes to run over to their warehouse in Delta and pick it up ourselves if we wanted to. Knowing our travel time was going to be tight, the Leon's team at this location had one person take care of the invoicing/financing while another called their warehouse to let them know we were on our way and not to close shop until we got there as we might be a few minutes late with traffic. All said and done, their team delivered on white glove service, and loaded the TV right in to the back of our truck and made sure we were all secured with the cargo before leaving their dock. It was good to see this crew from retail store to warehouse not minding the clock at all and remaining focused on the total customer experience. Perhaps we lucked out with an in stock item given the total state of global supply chain issues affecting home furnishings to housing lumber, but a great experience nonetheless. You could sense their team really cared about your business. A small purchase in the grand scheme of their business I'm sure, but if there is a retailer I will consider again for my next home item purchase, it will be Leon's and more specifically, this Leon's store location.
