As a kid I grew up playing in Snyder Park and Cliff Park, Cliff Park was renamed Veterans Park. For years they've been doing the Summer Arts Festival. Veterans Park is now a great place for me to visit when I return to Springfield Ohio. It's fun to schedule family time during the Summer Arts Festival, which attracts many nationally known tribute bands, as well as some local tallent in addition to the summer arts festival, you can walk jog relax read have a picnic or bring your kids to the playground. The Springfield Museum of Art is located in the park and is really cool. If you're a resident. Slides, swings, climbing stuff, springy animal things, teeter totters, etc. Baby K loved it. Too hot to stay long, sadly, and too sunny so some things were hot. There's a big shelter, plus several smaller ones with single picnic tables underneath. Benches all around, a small skate park, large green space, decent amounts of shade trees.

My almost 4 year old grandson really enjoys riding his scooter and his balance bike (with no pedals) all through the neighborhood. We went out several times to do this and his favorite destination was to go to Wedgewood Park. It's a small community park that we can access at the end of a dead end street. Cars can also drive to it. There is a decent size parking lot and a jungle jim with 3 different size slides, tennis courts, soccer field and a swing set with both baby and kid size swings. Until recently the swing set and jungle jim were closed off due to covid-19. The park is seperated from the nearby homes by a cluster of trees. I went down the stone stairs ... they were slippery but was glad i still could manage them. They have changed things ... added wooden pathways and more water at the bottom of the stairs. I'd hoped walk to both waterfalls. But wearing new shoes and saw it was muddy. So just headed back up the stairs to the car. They have bird feeders at the buildings. Nice place to hike. Parking is 10 bucks.

The trails are clean and well kept. If hiking isn't your thing, there are lots of areas to play frisbee, let your kids run around, or have a picnic in the shade. It's about a 45 minute drive for us, so we don't go often but when we do go once or twice a year, we always enjoy this beautiful park.

I love coming here for a quick, twilight walk across the dam, or a VERY short hike through the woods (or a longer one, if you've got the time) or just to look out over the water as the sun sets. Picnic tables, a little floating dock, reasonably clean restrooms, playground/s closer to the entrance, and more!! I've never managed to be here when the Nature/Visitor's center is open, but hope to, one of these days... Springfield doesn't always get the best "press," but this is DEFINITELY a true hidden gem, and worth a visit, any season!! Next time you're in the area to check out Buck Creek, be sure to ALSO visit Clarence Brown!!!

What a wonderful park on the northern fringe of Springfield, Ohio! There's lots of wooded areas as…read morewell as open grassy areas. You'll find plenty of walking paths, both paved and natural, along with exercise areas. There are quite a few spots for grilling and having picnics. Shelter houses, too. If you have little ones, the visitor center, when staffed, is a good place to start with a kids' hands-on activity area, information booth, and maps. There are restrooms readily available both here and throughout the park and are kept clean and in repair. It's very peaceful here. I live in Columbus and make the drive to enjoy this alternative to our busy metro parks. This is definitely a hidden gem, and it's worth a visit if you are in the area. A solid 5 stars!
