I couldn't find anyone to help me as it operates on autopilot and there's no one that works there. However, I did call the phone number and the owner Dave called me and apologized for what happened and said he would rectify the situation so I give them five stars for them. Being good people and not just ignoring me like most other places would do. Dave, I thank you for calling me and you seem like a really nice guy and I absolutely will give you another shot when my comforter needs to be washed again LOL. Also to add, it is very clean in there and the machines wash things very quickly. My brother recommended it to me and him and I are both clean freaks and very weird about using laundromats since we have our own washer and dryers, but large comforters don't fit and wash well in our own. I've been going to this laundromat for the last six months on a weekly basis. It's always immaculate. The prices are reasonable. The machines are well kept and never have the smell of mildew. My clothes go home clean & smelling like my laundry detergent and not some funky smell (like at so many other laundromats). I usually go to the Salem Laundromat on the same day & time each week. I've been fortunate to become acquainted with the attendant, Chris, who is a big reason I'm such a fan of this business. He's attentive & kind to the customers especially the ones who need a little extra help which included me on my first time. Chris's presence also makes it a friendly place to be. Almost everyone who walks through the door says "Hi Chris" when entering. I appreciate Chris being there each week. At the laundromat I used previous to Salem Laundomat, the attendant practically growled when you entered. Or worse, going to a laundromat without an attendant, where it's messy & you see all kinds of unpleasant things going on. I've been using laundromats for over thirty years and Salem Laundry is the best!

Although the girl the was doing my Landry seemed apologetic she blamed it on a new girl working there. I let it go, then a pair of sweat pants lost their belt again a trivial matter but when I told Brittany the manager she looked at me like I had five heads. I pay for a services I guess I expect people to be remorseful or say something. Another thing I began to notice the prices jump up when I brought in much bigger loads of Landry the price wasn't that high? The most recent problem a long rip down the side of a very expensive top, again I was polite and well mannered toward Brittany. I didn't say anything because she never responded when I asked her where my belt was to my sweat pants. But when I dropped my clothes off a couple of weeks or so ago she quoted me a price when I went in the next day the price was different? Again puzzled? I had asked a different woman there did the prices go up ? She didn't seem to know um ?? So when they laundry mat e-mailed me my receipt with the question how was the service I told her my concerns. She was the owner, she engaged in a couple of emails. She said that the price they quoted at pick up was right and Brittany must of made a mistake she did apologize. Well Monday I went in to do my usually drop off and Brittany wouldn't look at my face she "said I hope you don't need these soon cause were very busy". She said we've picked new clients I was surprised because I always picked up the following afternoon . She seemed annoyed with me keeping a controlled pissy demeanor with me. I was going to take me things somewhere else but I needed clothes . Doing my own laundry has become a little challenge for me both my knees need to be replaced, the day I saw her I had my cane and I was in pain. So tell me is this the way you treat the elderly ??? I am now however going to take my laundry else where do to her attitude toward me. Its to bad because I did like her and thought she was different. Maybe the other woman Joan who is lovely should be the manager there clearly Brittany isn't happy there anymore. I was told she's looking for a new job with benefits! Well that's great but don't get an attitude when someone has given you criticism about the quality of your service. I've given this girl Brittany plenty of positive comment's and a tip here and there so I'm not a crabby person! But somehow, as soon as it hit NOON, crowds came in and all of the dryers were used up. Staff also started to supervise machines and put clothes onto carts so others can use them. So I advise you stick around while doing your laundry here. As for prices, I saw washers starting at $3.75 to $13.75 for the largest. Dryers are .25 for 5 mins. I put in $1.25 as a test and it understandably didn't do much since I had to put my large load into one dryer. I do appreciate that they use a card system and staff is really helpful in teaching you how to use em.

I'm a big fan of the filtered water they use, as I feel it makes my laundry feel cleaner. It's always a little busy when I go, but it's a big facility. Everyone is friendly, and the atmosphere has an authentic Lowell vibe. The only thing I would like to see improved is the dryer times. While it's not too pricy, sometimes even separating my loads into four dryers can take around 45 minutes to fully dry.
