They will also give you samples so you can pick which pint you ultimately want to purchase. The space itself is long and narrow. There are a few low top tables in the front, high top stools at the bar and high top round tables in the center. They have a few staple beers that are apparently always on tap along with several seasonal varieties. My favorite was one of their fall brews. It was packed with flavor and I was sad when they were out of it. But I've never been disappointed by anything I've tried here. Staff is always friendly and ready to offer recommendations. There is street parking right in front of the space, but there is also a surface lot about a minute walk away. Highly recommend a visit here!

I had a seasonal beer that is house brewed in collaboration with a cancer charity, and it was fantastic - great flavor, very fresh, perfect! My wife tried a bougie cocktail from the bar, and she enjoyed it as well. We had some hot pretzels with beer cheese and ground mustard, and these too were good. I need to get back there for a more involved sampling, and plan to do so the next time we're out that way. Based on our experience, this place is a solid 5.

I really enjoyed the creative names and stories behind the beers. My favorite name is probably "beer flavored beer" The only reason it wasn't five stars is that the food could be a little better. I ordered the monthly special sandwich (which was Thanksgiving themed with turkey and cranberry sauce) but I expected more than deli meat turkey, I guess. You can add those extras for no charge, and I'm not sure how they are affording that on a four dollar slice. When you enter the building, you have to go straight back to get to Quinn, and when you enter Quinn, you need to walk in and go to the right to get to the actual bar area. When I first walked in, I wondered if I was in the right place, and a patron said "bar is around the corner" The room when you first walk in is large, has a variety of seating options and plenty of fun things to try like board games and pool. The bar area itself has the bar with stools. Since I was on my own, I opted to stay in that area. You could tell it was a place that there are many regulars. As various people came in to order, I heard things like "Do you want your usual" and some of the patrons seemed to be close with the bartender. The patrons and the bartender were equally as friendly with everyone who came in, though. I asked a bunch of questions about the history of the brewery, most popular beers, how often they add new beers and got advice on what to try. I sampled three different ones and liked all of them and settled on the Braddock's Blonde. It was a fun place and I would definitely come back, either as a date night or with some friends and take advantage of the fun things their space has to offer.

We visited to check out a new local business and really enjoyed our time there. Firewhistle offers several taps of their own beer, a guest tap, canned beer options, and mixed drinks made with local spirits from other Pennsylvania businesses. The beers we tried were the pumpkin and holiday beers, and they were both very good. They had an IPA too. We also opted for one of the mixed drinks from their new holiday menu: How The Grinch Stole Elizabeth. The mixed drink was also nice and very festive. Our service was great and friendly, explaining some of the things about their process of opening, etc. Free popcorn was provided with the drinks, but you can also order takeout or a pizza from somewhere nearby. The taproom itself is fairly small and cozy with a bar and a few additional two topper tables. When we visited they had decorated for the holidays, and it was really cute. The large mural in the taproom is also well done featuring Pittsburgh's bridges and mills. We look forward to what Firewhistle Brewing has to offer in the future and returning with friends and family when we are in town.
