If there's a ZERO or a NEGATIVE value, I would give it!…read more THE WORSE TRAVEL AGENCY EVER!!!! APF Travel, if looks could kill, you'd be 6 feet under! I originally booked a flight with a group to Honduras for $847.70. After we have bought out ticket, the agent emailed us urging that we deposit by the next day an additional $25 for each ticket we've booked or else we would not get our ticket in time. The agent claimed it was due to increase in flight cost because of the gas price increase. Who have ever heard of charging you extra flight cost AFTER you've already booked your ticket?! When we emailed her back requesting proof and documentation of the increase in fare, she answered with some random comments, no PDF file of any kind. We directly called the airline and they said there's no such thing. THEN the agent claimed that it was because we didn't book our flight by a certain date, that's why the new charges apply to our group, but when we checked, we booked our flight before the indicated date!!! WTF (I of course sent a very angry email back requesting for proof and got no real proof back). If airlines can charge us more money AFTER a flight has been book, then it would be fair for us to request reimbursement if the flight cost goes down after we've book it too right? Nope, hence I smelled a SCAM!!! I later canceled my flight because I could no longer go, I was informed that I would lose $185 from that original price I paid, and the rest could be used to book my flight anywhere else with any airline, it does not have to go through Continental. I was content enough with that and left it. Several months later, I called the agency to book my flight and couldn't get a hold of anyone who would be able to to figure out what I can do with that flight credit, so I straight up called Continental. Not only was the service not at all helpful (they just sound like they want to get you off the phone as fast as possible), I found out Continental only has $697.70 flight credit for my account, and this price is BEFORE the $150 fee for canceling my flight!!!!! Once again, I called APF travel to figure out that the heck is going on, the service was HORRIBLE, even more rude than your typical Chinese restaurant servers, they keep telling me to call again because there isn't anyone available to answer my questions or send them an email again, then she had the nerve to hang up!! I'm so angry that I think I need an anger management class. If you want to avoid get ripped off, a headache, poor customer service, horrible price for flights, and the worse experience in travel booking ever, go here. Be warned, they might find more creative ways to make you mad. The Angry Customer The saga continues.... They fired the old travel agent, hired a new one. She was absolutely wonderful! She spent her day off and worked at home to fix the problem that was caused by the previous agent. She clearly explained things to me, clarified the confusions that occurs, and worked really hard to book my flight before my credit expired. From their description I guess it is really suitable for people who enjoy good hotels and good dining but not after adventurous activities. The lodging places were all very nice and the group was able to have Chinese food at least twice in every country, which is quite important for some people. The morning call for the group was pretty accommodating around 8am. Activities offered were fun and not strenuous. My parents loved it so much that they would go with this company for their cuba trip next year. BTW, in another review someone was complaining that the tour was in mandarin. That complaint is somewhat ridiculous. Why would anyone who does not understand Chinese official language take a Chinese tour?

I have a big birthday coming up, and am in the early stages of planning a trip to Mexico with my girlfriends to celebrate. But knowing little about Mexico, and feeling not at all like putting work into planning this trip myself, I decided to splurge on a travel agent to do the work for me. I stumbled upon Destinations & Adventures randomly on Yelp. Since it was highly rated, I decided to give them a shot. But when I called to ask for Jim Berkeley, I was told he was out of the country leading a trip. Instead of Jim, I got a call back only from a random woman in Nashville, TN (Arlene Santos, with the high-falutin' title "Director of Client Services"). This, despite having specified that I'd be willing to wait for Jim to call back once he'd returned. Arlene and I chatted. I explained what I was looking for, and she offered to assist with a distinct lack of enthusiasm. (I think she may have even said something like, "that's a bit of a difficult one.") Now, I know what you're thinking: Why bother with a travel agent who isn't enthused about helping me? I guess I like to give people the benefit of the doubt, sometimes to my detriment. But then, the first red flag: Arlene later e-mailed me that she'd have me an initial quote and some package ideas by a certain date. But that date came and went, and no quote. When I followed up with her several days later, Arlene promised a quote "by the end of the day" - but then, she only sent the names of two hotels, without any pricing or explanation (with pricing to follow later). When I finally got pricing 1.5 weeks after Arlene and I had first spoken, the pricing didn't include anything but just hotel rates (which I could have looked up myself on Expedia). No explanation of how or why she chose those two options, and she said activities weren't included. Also, I'd specifically asked her for daily pricing, since not everyone in my party would be staying for the full trip duration.... but her pricing was weekly, not daily. Amusingly, Arlene's e-mail had added tersely: "Kindly advise which one you are interested in," as if there were absolutely no room for discussion on the matter. It was these two random hotels or nothing. It was clearly time to cut bait. I responded that I thought there was a disconnect, and added: "As it took you 9 days to provide pricing for two hotels, I'm wondering whether you may be too busy to assist me? If so, I'd rather not waste your time, and instead I'll move on to another travel agent. Please let me know." Arlene's frosty response: "Sorry for not being much help. I believe it will be best for you to work with someone else." This "Director of Client Services" should be locked away in an office and never be permitted to assist clients again. Just saying. We've eaten in a Monastary in Russia and a goat cheese farm in France. We've been kayaking in Croatia and snorkeling in Tahiti. I can't say enough about the staff at DAI. Any last minute changes are always handled without any problem. Our last cruise was supposed to end in Athens, Greece the day of a strike so Jim Berkeley got us off the ship a day early and flew us to Istanbul for 4 days. Our hotel and tours and meals all arranged at the last minute and all wonderful. We will be traveling with DAI for years to come and would recommend you do too.

However, things went downhill after I discovered a date change was needed (within the 24 hour window) and contacted Roobina. She said it was no problem to change the date to arriving one day earlier. And then I got my credit card statement and saw that the total price was $600 over what was discussed and accepted VIA EMAIL. After a few days of back and forth and no responses I escalated by calling and Roobina finally responded that it was in fact an error and that either my cc would be refunded or a check would be mailed to them with the amount in error and then sent back to me. THIS WAS 6 WEEKS AGO. Multiple calls and emails later. Crickets. $600 is quite a bit of money. Why are they still holding it hostage? The worst part of this whole thing is that I myself found the cheaper flight ticket and allowed Roobina to still book it because I felt as though I had already involved her in the process and I wanted her to get commission however small it may be. That was a huge mistake. I wish I just booked it myself. I am patiently waiting for them to respond back and make this situation right by apologizing and explaining what happened here. I would like to give them the benefit of the doubt and that it was a mistake but until there is some (ANY) effort to do so, I will strongly caution and advise everyone I interact with to avoid this place like the plague.

He arranged flights, visas, lodgings, transportation, and itinerary. We stuck to the itinerary pretty closely, but had more than enough time at each location to explore and take it all in. We also had the option to be spontaneous and change things and veer off on our own whenever so desired. One of the best parts of touring through Japan was the exploration of Japanese food. It was mind blowing how good it was. Nathan has a serious adventure for the cuisine and his love of it was infections, had us all trying everything under the sun and loving the experience. My biggest sightseeing highlight was the boat ride to and tour of the island of Miyajima. Miyajima is a sacred island that promotes calmness and serenity, and wild deer that want to eat everything in your hands if that's your thing. Highly recommend booking a tour with Nathan and The Japan Tour Company. It was completely stress free to have someone handling all the necessary items for a successful trip, we were able to just tune out of the details and enjoy the experience of being in a foreign country. If Japan is on your bucket list, definitely go, you won't regret it.
