First off If possible I wouldn't rate the legal representation I was affiliated with in this great company a -0. I've had 4 different legal aide attorneys helping me on this legal matter. The 1st one was the best. She left the company. Each one after, never called me back until 3 to 4 weeks later. I will never use this firm again. I was moved around to four different attorneys three different paralegals just to ultimately get screwed in the end. They referred me to Oasis Financial for loans during my case and said that they would negotiate the interest on loans which they never did. Was told that the insurance company wanted to settle I said if it was done right away then I would settle. Was told that they agreed to the terms but the insurance company didn't. When the attorney asked me did I want to take it to court I said yes. At that time he sent a motion to sue to the insurance company but didn't file it saying it was a scare tactic. I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Sobo & Sobo Law Firm. I was involved in a car accident in August 2024 and trusted this firm to help me. Since then, I have called multiple times, left messages, and even spoken with staff members yet I am constantly told that someone will call me back. That has never happened. On several occasions, I have also been told that they "cannot find my case," which is shocking and frustrating. Then someone else will say that my medical records were just pulled for review. This law firm is HORRIBLE. Before you even read this review know this: do not bother on retaining them for any services. From the customer service from the paralegal up to the actual attorney, no one has any knowledge about your personal case. I retained this firm a few months ago and still have yet to be updated on anything regarding the case. Whenever you call-NO ONE HAS ANY INFORMATION EVER. You are constantly told you will be called back by days end, days end comes and goes and no calls. The attorney is never available to answer questions and whenever you do get in contact with them once again they say they will look into it and never call you back. For months I have sent over the paperwork regarding the case and they email back saying they received yet, and then in a few weeks when you ask for an update they say "oh we didn't receive it can you send it again?" Meanwhile there is an email thread where you and the paralegal have confirmed they received it. No one in this firm is here to help you. I do not know how they are rated #1 injury attorney because they are truly some of the most unprofessional people I have probably ever dealt with. They were unable to assist me in seeking further medical attention and refused to address my desire to terminate my retainer. The intake people were inconsiderate and dismissive. Terrible firm they take on more case loads than they can handle. On top of he 33% that all the firms charge they charge a "miscellaneous charge with no cap on it" I asked what is was for they said paperwork any any research the lawyer has to do, so what is 33% for? I had workers comp case and the lawyer just stopped contacting me.I checked in periodically and was told it was a work in progress. Eventually years passed. When I called to inquire. I had a MVA hit by a commercial vehicle and was referred to them the lawyer never contacted me after my intake and contract was signed. Then he would call and when I answered he would hang up and saying something is wrong with his phone. Then he sent a text "Hi this is your lawyer".I text hi I have a few questions. No repose for weeks. I was calling and emailing the paralegal no response. I asked about my PIP/no fault which I was not getting only payment from my union he said what ever you are getting is what you are entitled to , which was totally incorrect. Paralegal was useless I was always redirected to the attorney for basic fundamental matters and he was never responsive.They are more concerned with running up your tab than getting you a good settlement. I had a frustrating and stressful experience with Sobo & Sobo. I contacted the firm through a referral through Top Dog Law because I was seeking a great attorney to assist me with my auto accident case. I signed a representation agreement on April 7, but by April 9, I still hadn't been assigned an attorney or legal team. When I called to follow up, I was transferred to someone named Alba in the intake department. She was curt, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. I simply asked questions about the agreement I had signed and whether I should have received a copy, and instead of helping, Alba got defensive and impatient. She even hung up on me, then admitted she did so intentionally because "the call was over." When I called back, she maintained the same attitude and informed me that my case still hadn't been forwarded to the supervising attorney, Jennifer Quinones Rosado from the Cleveland/New York office(s). At that point, I told her I no longer wanted Sobo & Sobo to represent me. She noted the cancellation which was today, Wednesday , April 9, 2025 at 6:15pm EST, and said I'd receive a formal notice by mail. Also, as of the time of this post I still haven't received the copy of the agreement that Alba promised to send to me via email (she lied!). This entire process added unnecessary stress during an already difficult time. I was looking for guidance and professionalism, but received the opposite. Over the course of four years, I felt neglected, misled, and ultimately pressured into a settlement that didn't meet my needs. I'm sharing this review so others can make an informed decision when choosing legal representation. From the beginning, communication was a serious problem. I rarely received updates on my case unless I reached out first, and even then, most responses were brief and came from a paralegal instead of my actual attorney. When I had questions or concerns, I felt like they were brushed aside. This lack of transparency left me in the dark and added unnecessary stress to an already challenging situation. Beyond communication, I felt the firm failed to properly prepare my case. Important evidence and paperwork that could have strengthened my position seemed overlooked, and I wasn't adequately prepared for key moments like depositions. I was never offered advice on anything matter, lost. This left me feeling unsupported and unprotected as I moved through the legal process. One of the most upsetting moments came just a week or two before my trial, when my attorney was suddenly replaced. The new attorneys, immediately pushed me to accept a settlement I didn't want, simultaneously all together 3 attorneys pushing me towards a low ball settlement, and then stating it was my choice but not with much hope. Despite voicing my concerns, I felt pressured to agree. The settlement didn't come close to addressing the financial and personal impact of my injuries, but I felt like I had no real choice in the matter. On top of that, the firm failed to honor a verbal promise of discounts. This discount was a key part of our discussions, but it was not reflected in the final billing. Instead, I was charged 33% of the settlement plus an additional $13,500 in expenses, with no clear explanation or itemization. The lack of transparency in billing practices deepened my frustration and disappointment. This was a life-altering case for me, and I trusted Sobo & Sobo to handle it with care and professionalism. Unfortunately, my experience left me feeling like my case wasn't a priority, and the firm's actions didn't align with the trust I placed in them. I'm sharing my experience to inform others. If you're considering Sobo & Sobo, I encourage you to look carefully at your options. This is a horrible firm. because of their miscalculations, the client pays for their errors. they make agreements with clients and break their agreements. its takes this for. a year to pay out settlements, accrue interest on the settlements, and keep the interest. in between the time they receive the settlement monies and they pay out to their clients, they do not communicate anything. they actually ignore their clients and block them from calling. yet they are quick to lie and steal from their clients. this is the worst firm for professionalism and honesty. at the end, they basically give you whatever is left after they take additional fees that were never disclosed and expect you to take the money and shut up about it. We received a call back from one one woman who took down all the information as she asked many questions. She then set up for a phone consulation with an attorney the very next day. Well, never heard from any attorney so I contacted the office and we received a message late in the day from another woman at the firm. She said she would call us the next day. Well, still haven't heard from her or any one else. Fine if they don't want the case, tell us that. Not professional at all. I was hit from behind back in 2019 from a woman who was on her phone. I made the mistake of going with the most popular firm, instead of doing a little homework. Over the next 2 years, my lawyer rarely responded to my emails- I constantly had to ask him to reply to give me updates. Everytime I asked if he spoke with the adjuster he would say, "I called him back, but I just missed him." Or, "I'm sorry, I've been really busy." Long story short, my case was finally settled, and I received the minimum payment settlement. When I received the bill, on top of the 33% they received, I was charged another 400+ for filing fees- and STAMPS. Sobo got 8,333.00 on a 25,000 settlement- And they charged me for stamps. At no point did I ever feel my case meant anything, or was a priority. I even wrote to Gregory Sobo, when I could not get a response from my attorney- He didn't get back either. I believe b/c my case was small, it was treated as small. It was never a priority- and during the entire process I wished I had gone to a lawyer who was paid on hours worked and devoted to the case, not a flat fee. I'll have problems with my shoulder for the rest of my life; and Sobo literally got half of what I received. For what? A few templates that were filled out by the secretaries, and a couple of phone calls. Cannot express the nightmare this was for me. Sobo and sobo is very unprofessional they assigned me a lawyer ( Crystal Taylor )who had my case for 3 weeks without even contacting me. I finally got in contact with her drove an hour to there middle town office to sit down with her she said ahe would handle everthing. That same night she sends a text message asking if I can return to her office in 2 days it seemed weird so I text back saying no problem but was there and issue why would she need to see me again we just spoke nothing new had happen. She did not respond I show up to her office in 2 days later (still no response from her )only to find out I wasn't meeting with her I was meeting with the supervisor Ashley. Now after driving and hour and waiting 20 min to speak to Ashley she told me they would not be able to take my case due to the fact the the other person that hit my car had also come to them for assistance and they would have to refer both parties to another law firm. (Something I could have been told via phone before driving an hour). She guaranteed me that in a few days they would help me find another lawyer that works very close with there company but not for sobo and sobo. She said this would be a smooth transaction and would only take a few days. Its been 2 weeks no one has reached out and everytime I call Sara the paralegal claims to see the notes but claims she didn't know why or what is taking so long.
