The vendor on the far end selling flowers by the stem was my favorite. Picking out a collection to create my own petite bouquet was so much fun. They had my favorite summer varieties too. The family selling them put in a lot of care to grow them from seed for six months. Every farmer's market I visit in Indiana is an experience, walking away with quality products from genuine people who are committed to their craft. The atmosphere is relaxed here. Parking is plentiful and the vendors are spaced out so it doesn't feel too crowded.

The drawback to me for this market is the pricing, for example near me at home I can buy corn for $3 a dozen when I went to the market it was $9. Having said that though I still love to go here and pick up the items I might not find near me. It was overcast and not raining on Saturday so I ventured out. I made my way around to all of the booths/tents and found all of the vendors to be very nice and helpful. I started my day with some lavender vanilla chai tea with a little almond milk from Aahaa Chai and I will say that was an excellent way to start the day! To go along with that there are a lot of vendors that do pastries or breakfast items and I found a baklava that I had a long with my chai. I went to the market to get some green tomatoes to fry as our garden has been under water for a couple of weeks and is not doing well. I was able to find those and more. I also found a unique cabbage that was shaped like a cone and the vendor told me that it was more sweet than a regular cabbage so I brought one of those home to try. I would have loved to taken home some fresh cut flowers but I knew I was going to be out all day and could not leave them in the truck. Walking out I found a vendor that did gluten-free and dairy-free macarons. Petit Regal did them right! They were exactly as a macaron should be, crispy on the outside and dense on the inside with a sweet filling. It was a good day and I would recommend at least getting to this market one time so you know what they have to offer. They are on Facebook and it shows their hours.

This farmers market was well organized and they had a lot of different vendors here. I did notice that you must get here early because by 11am some vendors are running out of items. There was this corn vendor and that line was so long but I did notice that he sold out by 11:30an. People were talking about how sweet the corn is from there. I more so came to the farmers market to come window shop but I did end up buying a lemonade and some ice cream. The lemonade was very refreshing and delicious. I was happy I bought the lemonade and the price was not bad at all. It was $7 for a nice size. I also ended up seeing the dog store at the event so of course I could not leave without buying my dog some dog treats which she really enjoyed them. I will definitely be coming back here to this market. It is in great location also.

The fresh corn line stayed long until the moment they sold out. I was thirsty and the lemonade from the popcorn and lemonade stand was tasty. I will definitely be back to provide them with repeat business. SPOILER ALERT: Overall, this was a great farmers' market, but there were way too many dogs. I also noticed several dogs relieving themselves mid-walk, right on the concrete, which I found pretty gross, especially with so much food around. Germs can easily spread in that environment. On top of that, I have a severe allergy to pet dander. Many people don't realize how this can affect others when they let their dogs wander instead of keeping them close on a leash. I grew up with dogs and know there are dog parks, but I wish people would leave their pets at home in the air conditioning when visiting places with food. This is the reason for a lower rating. Anyways, I will return early to get fresh fruit, corn, and the lemonade.

It's a lovely market. It's very simple the layout basically one big circle. I wish I could find the name of the lady that had a table FULL of vases of flowers. They were stunning!!! She's not only a good floral designer, but I can't imagine what her flower gardens look like. She filled them full with flowers. Rock of Etches has sand engraved pottery. Had to buy my dad a Hoosiers mug. They had Pacers, Purdue, I U mugs. They had other neat pieces of pottery too. They had so many different small businesses there. Food, gifts, soaps, candles, signs you name it. Will definitely be back!! I was surprised how much stuff I found. Going to be wearing my new Indiana earrings with my Pacers shirt for the big game!

On the other hand, I very much appreciate the addition of Limelight Coffee serving up Cold Brew and ADH Teas offering locally blended teas. I can't get enough of their Spanish Lemon iced tea. Along with these two beverages you can always find me munching on a bag of D&S Kettle Corn. All of their popping corn is Indiana grown and they use Indiana maple syrup on their maple corn offering but I highly recommend the sweet & salty. Not a huge fan of kettle corn? They are happy to pop up a batch of plain for you as well. This year is a growing year for the market. It will take some time to get used to the new location & new name but with the addition of more produce vendors and readily available food options this market (fingers crossed) will get its groove back.

The Saxony Farmers Market was a great destination for our afternoon activity! Located in the…read moreparking lot across from Jack's Donuts, Saxony Market is smaller than the Farmer's Market in downtown Fishers, but it was a lot of unique offerings packed into the small area. That being said, I never felt cramped or claustrophobic, even when surrounded by all the booths and food trucks. There's picnic tables and a field to relax and enjoy a snack, and there's a playground behind the market for the kids to blow off some steam. Every step of your Farmers Market journey is accompanied by live music, performed by a very talented duo. Everyone manning the booths were extremely polite and welcoming, and I made sure to try every free sample I was offered! We got some strawberry bread (an Amish Friendship Bread with strawberry purée and vanilla pudding) from the Amish County Dairy, and I also sampled the blueberry milk. (I know, it sounds weird, but it was delicious!) We were tempted to buy some fresh produce, but unfortunately I went food shopping earlier today and I didn't need to buy any more fruit! The Fishers Parks Department was advertising upcoming events in our area (Monsoon Madness is Saturday, July 22!) and offering free ice cream sandwiches!!! That's right. ICE CREAM SANDWICHES. For FREE!! What could be better than that? I cannot wait to come back to the Saxony Market!

This particular market is tiny and has a very small offering. It'll take you ten mins to walk thru and see all the booths. There were only a couple of farmers with a small sampling of produce. Nothing incredibly inviting, honestly. We enjoyed some cotton candy, a Kona ice, and sampled some MLM products. There's a nice playground where the kiddos seem to be having a ball. I was disappointed in what I found, but will try again before it closes at the end of September.
