My boyfriend and I came on Mother's day (unintentionally) and we waited about 10-15 minutes to sit at the bar. Getting our orders taken & our food served definitely took a bit of time, but we enjoyed seeing all the cooks in action and getting to smell all the amazing smells!! I got Grandpa's one pan skillet and my boyfriend got the sausage breakfast sandwich on croissant bread. All I gotta say is those chefs definitely knew what they were doing! The flavors were unique and intentional and I enjoyed every bite. The home fries (potatoes) were also so yummy and everything was cooked really well. There's nothing basic about borage and I love that! This place is a gem. They also have a cafe/market area where you can order drinks and pastries. I wish we waited until we got seated to order drinks because the menu was much more extensive than what I saw in the cafe and I would have ordered a different drink had I seen all the other options. The staff here are also very welcoming and friendly. We enjoyed our little brunch and will be back with family next time!

Due to construction that's why it's moved to the circle. I noticed today they've added more food trucks which they did need. They definitely could add more. You have lots of visitors and people who work downtown who attend lots of functions that happen on the circle. Flying Dirt Farm, Hunter's Honey Farm, Chez Pauline are ones I always stop at. They have vegetables, flowers, soaps, and more. It seems like when it first started in May it wasn't as busy. Now, you can tell it's picked up. Good for the vendors! Check out the Spark area if you're visiting the market too!

Because of you meet all those requirements, you can visit Indianapolis' Original Farmers' Market and have a terrific time. Market Street is closed to vehicular traffic during the Farmers Market, so it gets transformed into a pedestrian mall. There must have been 50 vendors on both sides of the street. And what might those vendors sell? Probably every type of fruit and vegetable grown in the state of Indiana, plus spices, ciders, baked goods, oils, vinegars, eggs, meats, granola, wine, flowers, beef jerky, coffees, guacamole, salsa, tostadas, soap, cosmetics, honey, popcorn, lemonade, bakery goodies, egg rolls, pet foods, teas, coffee, and cocktail mixes. It's a gorgeous sensory overload of reds and oranges and yellows and greens as you see stall after stall of amazing looking produce. I picked up some great beef jerky and a bottle of cocktail mix from Tailored Toddies. This was one helluva great Farmers Market!

Gluten Free Creations has one of the more obvious names among the Statehouse Market vendors - founder/baker Lydia Armstrong's Gluten Free Creations is "a home-based all gluten and corn free scratch made bakery. Our items are sold at Indianapolis area farmers markets throughout the year. We also accept special orders." You can also place orders on their website and pick up at one of the places they regularly attend (including Statehouse Market, Irvington Farmer's Market, Fishers Farmer's Market, and Avon Farmer's Market. Lydia is also known as an adventurous baker who will do what she can to accommodate other types of baking needs due to sensitivities. Product offerings include cakes/cupcakes (also Keto and Paleo options among others, though flavor options are more limited). breads, rolls, pretzel products, cinnamon rolls, Danish, and other items. Lydia can also make yeast-free breads, sweet breads, pies, cookies, cake donuts, brownies, scones, etc. The list is available on their website with pricing. I've tried the brownies (Yum!), cinnamon rolls (even more yum!), and cookies (Yum Yum). Yes, the pricing is a little higher than mass-produced products. These are specialty products from a local, woman owned business. Easily worth supporting in my book. When you add in just how sick you can get when you don't follow the needed diet, I find it balances out. I mean, seriously. How often have we violated the gluten-free diet and paid for it with digestive issues requiring OTC or even prescription meds? So, we end up spending more and feeling lousy. Lydia makes quality products that are healthier and does so at a fair price. She's always friendly and helpful and always willing to brainstorm ideas. I can always tell by the steady line at their stand that they've earned a reputation for quality baking. If you need a gluten-free baking option, Gluten Free Creations is definitely worth a visit at a local farmer's market or through their website.

Eating out has become a bit more limiting. My scones: oh, how I miss you! My SO surprised me with a batch of gluten free mini scones from a vendor at City Market Farmers Market: Gluten Free Creations. Yum! I checked out their website and wow, so much to offer. Vegan, paleo, gluten free, many items allergen free. Scones, cake doughnuts, cupcakes, cookies, cakes, sandwich and other breads. I try to write somewhat useful reviews so I definitely want to give this place a shout out and bring it to anyone's attention who may have concerns about certain allergens. Surely you know someone because I don't think a person counts as an actual human being these days if they don't have at least some food sensitivity (I can't believe I'm one of them!). Things to keep in mind, this isn't Ezra's, so their aim isn't necessarily "healthy." Sugar is typically a no go for me, and if that's you too, this place is probably a no go. But if you're entertaining where there are many actual human beings ( I would definitely have a human authenticity device on hand for those who claim to have none. Aliens are real, people!) or you're someone who has food sensitivities, you've got to check this place out! I haven't found any baker in Indy who only does gluten free, so again, worth the review and checking them out for this reason alone. They have no brick and mortar establishment but all local farmer's markets, and they have their schedule listed on their website. If you want to place an order other than what they offer that particular day, contact them but you will have to pick up at a farmer's market. Do I recommend them? Well, truthfully, I've only tried a delicious mini scone so far, but I am excited about their brand/their concept so if you get excited about this too, and you're not afraid of a good ol' fashion American baked good, yes, id recommend them! However, if you are looking for guilt free unbaked goods, I'd probably say go to Ezra's, as I usually do. I can't wait to read about your experience!

The market is held on Saturday mornings starting at 8:30 am in a church parking lot off Lafayette Road. Last Saturday, there were about 20 vendors selling baked goods, local meats, flowers and produce. The local Pike library had the bookmobile on site for guests to check out and return books. There was a fabulous bbq stand selling meals. But what caught my eye were the exquisite artisans. I saw some of the most beautiful woodworking pieces that I've seen. Tooled French rolling pins, beautiful hand crafted pens, bowls and more. Another booth, was a woman that made hand crafted leather pieces that rival any from Italy. She made extraordinary leather pillows and bags. A musician/singer played in the center of the market. Games were set up to entertain young people. There was a little seating. And, of course, "My Dad's Corn" was there selling bags of the freshest corn in Indiana. I bought veggies, herbs, cookies, bbq slider, hibiscus slushy and several cookies. Parking was easy in and out. I was there early and it wasn't crowded, but probably gets crowded later in the morning. This is a small, but great market. I'll be back.

It is a family friendly, dog friendly farmers market where the vendors are nearly all based within Pike Township. The volunteer staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. There is a good variety of vendors from a small batch coffee roaster, to a farm-to-table butcher, to woodworking, soap-making, organic pet food and treats, and several produce vendors selling either the plant to grow yourself, or the produce itself. For 2023 there will be rotating food vendors and food trucks along with a live music tent. Pike Farmers Market is young, but has grown rapidly in it's 2 years. Definitely worth checking out, or turning it in to a summer family routine!
