If I lived in a bigger place (as opposed to a studio apartment) and wanted to hire house cleaners, I'd call Mahogany in a heartbeat. And I'd definitely request Clifford & Curvin! I don't usually trust anyone else to clean things as thoroughly as I would (I'm a bit obsessive when it comes to cleaning) so that's saying something! They asked me questions (did I want the refrigerator cleaned?) and listened to my requests (please clean the laundry room!) and they wanted me to walk through and approve their work before they left. They were also very conscientious...making sure to turn off all the lights as we did the walk through and even reminding me to lock the door of the downstairs unit. I really appreciate that. They then complained about my living in the San Fernando Valley but per the voucher, services are to be honored within 30 miles of their address and I am within that radius. They knew where I lived when I scheduled the appointment! We were not accommodated, offered something to make it up, just a sorry but there is nothing they can do because the crew is still in Los Angeles cleaning a different house. Businesses out there: Don't bother with Livingsocial or Groupon if you can't keep your word and honor your commitments!

I hired Kleanup Home & Carpet Cleaning to clean our 3bd condo and clean the upholstery on our Minotti couch. The couch is very expensive and I asked repeatedly to the owner, Justin, who was the one cleaning the upholstery, if he knew how to clean this special linen material, if he had experience cleaning these types of couches and he reassured me that he had and he knew what he was doing. THE CUSHIONS WERE ALMOST RUINED after he "cleaned" them. They were filthier than before because he decided to lay them out in our hallway on the dirty floor while they were wet without wiping down the floor or thinking to lay down something clean. He also tried to clean a water stain on the back of the couch frame and instead MADE THE WATER STAIN BIGGER! When I sent photos telling the owner what had happened, he reassured me that the large water stain created was actually because there was a hidden water stain (ummm, no) his cleaning had revealed?! When that answer did not satisfy me he agreed to refund me the money I spent on the upholstery (just checked my credit card statement and he HAS NOT REFUNDED ME and it's been over 3 weeks now). I took the cushions to a specialist and it cost me an additional $750 to have them cleaned. They weren't even sure they could correct what he had done! It was the worst experience ever. And when I tried reasoning with the owner on the phone about what happened, he began saying "he didn't know what I did all day, but that he works on his hands and knees" insinuating I just sit on my ass at home all day (because I'm a stay at home mom) and how dare I try to file a claim for the good work done!!!! We contacted Servpro to come out to sanitize and check the humidity levels of our walls and floors. They came out and essentially wiped the floor down with a cloth for 20 mins and left. I was upstairs at the time on a call and the technician just left. I then called Servpro and asked them to come back to finish the job we'd paid $1000 (!!) for. The woman who answered the phone tried to tell me we didn't need it even though we had already paid. Once again we'd already paid $1000 essentially for a man with a washcloth to stop by... Long story short, they finally came back and checked the humidity levels and found tons of black mold and dirty water. 2 months and $18k later we've had the walls and floors replaced. Had we not called back who knows how bad the mold would have gotten and the repercussions.
