This review is LONG overdue, but I'm writing this in honor of my original "lash mama" (haha). Darla took care of me for 6+ years! She was very meticulous and a true perfectionist at her craft (I say perfectionist in the most positive way). The best part is that she makes sure she keeps your natural lashes healthy and in tact (not to mention, retention was great). I rocked a few different lash looks with Darla, and I'm grateful I got to experience her expertise. Long overdue review, but I've been going to Darla for the past 4-5 years without taking a break. First off, I've been doing my lashes on and off for past 15 years from hole in the walls, overseas, back of the nail salon studios, and home studios. Darla is the longest lash artist I have stuck with. She is seriously the best and you won't regret going to her. My lashes are always perfectly custom to my eyes. Lashes are a low-maintenance commitment, so make sure you find the right artist. Darla's prices might not be a cheap nail salon price, but it's still very reasonable and you honestly get what you pay for! You won't regret it. Some of the pros: 1. Lashes are customized to your eye shape & your desired look. I love lashes for volume & as curly as you can get, not so much length, and Darla always gets them right. Never too long for my Asian eyes & natural looking. 2. Location: She works out of her home & right off 101 fwy. I prefer this over busy salons. Private, gated parking spaces provided. Only one client at a time. 3. Appointments are always easy. She accommodates to working professional hours - evenings & Saturdays. 4. High quality products used, especially the glue. I have been to many artists who use cheap glue. I am sensitive to this & often my eyes will water and/or get red. Not to mention the fume-like smell. Never ever experienced this with Darla. 5. Darla is FAST, but meticulous & detailed. She takes about an 1-1 1/2 hr every touch up for me. Never any clumps; you can always easily brush with a lash brush with no snags. 6. I constantly get compliments on my lashes from strangers & getting asked if they are real! Cons: 1. My real lashes have stayed healthy & intact so I am addicted to getting my lashes done... Side note- Covid precautions are taken: temperature checks, sanitize hands upon entry, she sanitizes spray the bed between clients, masks required. read more

I wish I could give Darla 50 stars! She's the most profession lash artist in the whole valley. I've been to so many people and nobody has done as amazing as her. No, she doesn't work out of a bourgeois salon in beverly hills - she runs her business out of her home in Tarzana, but do not let that deter you!! It is super clean and sanitary, very relaxing and tranquil. Her home is easily accessible and parking is free! It is better than going to a noisy salon where everyone is loud and gossiping and where parking is a hassle - Darla's is so great this way! Scheduling with her is simple, she is flexible and willing to work with your time frames. Compared to other lash technicians, she is simply the best in her trade. Her application of lashes and the materials she uses are what you are paying for. She takes a little longer than other lash techs do, but THAT IS A GOOD THING! I have spent the last few years trying many lash artists all over LA, and Darla by far, is the best in every aspect - amazing service, great, convenient location with easy, free parking and a comfortable, private environment with a relaxing atmosphere. I have paid more and I have paid less and Darla's prices are perfect for the quality of service and individual attention she provides. I know some have concerns that services being out of a home and not a salon are not as professional, but trust me when I say that Darla is the most professional and talented person who has ever touched my lashes. I enjoy in-home services, especially when convenient, free parking is part of the deal. It's quiet, private and relaxing - I much prefer it to a noisy salon with a lot of other customers, limited privacy and often interruptions from other salon staff or customers, usually with limited parking, metered parking or parking blocks away. On top of all that, Darla is just a beautiful person who takes her time and does an amazing job. My lashes look more beautiful every time I see Darla and they last longer than any I have had in the past. She takes her work very seriously and it shows.
