I thought to share my review now because they are still valid experiences no matter how much time has passed in between. I haven't seen Dr. Kubicki since I was 13 (I am 36 now), but I remember he never smiled. He often sighed a lot or what I call 'huffed and puffed' when he felt that we weren't doing what was directed (i.e. twisting the jaw expander enough, etc.). Then, when my mom would come into the room, his tone immediately changed. He left such a negative impression on me considering that I remember a lot of things in great detail about his poor attitude. And please don't judge how I was when I was 13 and assume that I was a brat. Remember, I don't know you. Now that I am an adult and have kids of my own, I would never bring them to Dr. Kubicki nor would I recommend him to anyone else.

But, after you enter wearing your mask, they give you gloves to wear. Each room has an air purifier with ultraviolet light. A standard cleaning involves a little bit extra work than before. You're first given a sealed container of mouthwash, since this will get rid of any bacteria on the surface before they begin. They stopped using a spit sink a long time ago, so they use suction to extract the mouthwash when you are done. Since it had been a while (too long!) since my last checkup, they also took X-rays, which are always more involved here than at other places. Instead of the standard 360 X-ray, they also do targeted X-rays of your teeth from various angles. Then, they did an inspection of the gumline around each tooth, and gave it a rating from 1 to 5. Three spots were checked on the front and three spots were checked on the back of each tooth. As you can imagine, the appointments take quite a long time. But, they're worth it. They find cavities as they are forming, so they can be monitored for future work. And the technology that they employ, plus the expertise of their people, means that they don't miss anything. And, everything is handled very professionally, and the people here are also very friendly. They are the gold standard for dentist offices.

The consultation is the tough part, they're usually booked up, but once you get through that, they have plenty of dates for the actual surgery. The entire staff was very sweet, and got things done pretty quickly. I really appreciated two things - that they went through everything with you, and that they are very professional and do things quickly so you aren't stuck waiting too long. I really loved that during the consultation and after the surgery, they went over everything, so I wasn't worried at home. It's also super convenient that when you call, they have an extension just for pre- and post-op questions. I left a message once and they got back to me within a few hours. Cannot recommend them enough, can't explain what a relief it was to have such a phenomenal experience!

However, Dr. Manisha Patel is the one who cleans your teeth, not a hygienist and she uses a vibrating tooth pick thinger (technical term) so she gets it done in 10 minutes. It's BRILLIANT. She's great, she does a thorough work up, and she's just really pleasant to be around. It's a low key family run office. I loved her, I will actually go back for my 6 month check up.
