I was on a road trip from San Diego to Nashville and have never been in OK city. I toured the city and worked up an appetite and wanted something wholesome. I left downtown after reading the reviews about social deck + dining and gave it a try. WOW the food is awesome and unexpected. Crab cakes and Brussel sprouts were spot on and were enjoyed on the patio on a summer day. The owner waited on me and I believe his mother sat me, love the family atmosphere of the place. The day I was there they were holding an event which gave the place even more credibility to a person who knew nothing about the city. Everything was excellent. I had the seasonal mimosa sub cranberry. So why did I do this? Because there was ginger juice involved. So yummy. Rather like a mild mule with champagne. OMG! New drink for moi! But there were no bubbles! How can you have a mimosa without bubbles!? Then I ordered the Eggs Benny. This is salmon cakes with hollandaise and poached eggs. The taste was good. My taste buds discerned pimentos is the salmon cakes. There was basil(?) in the hollandaise sauce. So what keeps this from being five stars? First, no arugula but rather spinach. (Wait, before I left I found one piece of arugula!) At the very least tell me that there is a substitution. Second, the eggs were fried and not poached. I've NEVER seen a Benedict without poached eggs. Once again, if that is do, OWN IT! Say it in your menu. Third, tell me on your menu what dressing you are using in the (missing) arugula. Oh wait, you didn't use dressing, just olive oil. Where is the vinegar? Where is the dressing? Yea, no, not so good! The music was big band music and 60s and reggae and - well just an amazing eclectic mix, There's a good vibe here. Energy. Wonderful new spot where the former Chae Korean restaurant was located. The proprietors have a long and successful career working in the OK restaurant scene with some of the most popular spots around the metro. This is their first endeavor together and it's a winner. Social has brunch 7 days with a transitional menu for the afternoon and then dinner every night. They have a long bar and some family style tables in the bar area. The updates and remodel look clean and unfussy. We tried a Classic Maria Bloody Mary, Poinsetta, and The Social (a coffee drink). All the drinks were good - only improvement I would like is for the coffee drink to be hot. All the flavors were good. The Maria came with a lime, green olive, and pickle garnish. Hubs had the blueberry cake doughnut (made fresh daily) and loved it. We also ordered the Corned Beef Hash, Fried Egg and Cheese Biscuit, and a side of Sweet Potato Hash....ALL delish. First thing, some of the staff was friendly. Still not sure what the bartenders name was. She was polite. Secondly; for the clientele they want, this restaurant is not in the best location. They seem to want the trendy type of crowd. If they were in paseo district or further east on 23rd or in not sure the name of it but down on nw16th area this restaurant may thrive more with their clients. On to the food that I ordered. I got the lamb kefta. The lamb at first was good until it cooled down. Bit tough to eat. The rice was either way over cooked or cooked previously then reheated. It came out dry and hard. They did fix it but still didnt help much second go around. Again these are just my own opinions and feel free to try for yourself. read more

Social is a fine casual dining restaurant that serves a variety of dishes. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. They have an extensive drink menu, including wines by the bottle. They have small plates to share and individual entrees. We shared the chicken marsala and a side order of brussels sprouts. The chicken marsala was perfect in every way. I love that the dish came with some flat bread to dip into the rich marsala sauce. This dish can be eaten by one person or shared between two people. The brussels sprouts were cooked with bacon and mushrooms...excellent combination to make brussels sprouts more exciting. I'm usually not a fan of the sprouts, but Social got it right with their brussels sprouts. We ended the meal with a blueberry cake donut. The donut was also delicious and you can tell it was made from scratch with the finest ingredients. Parking can be an issue because of the limited parking spots. Street parking is available after 6pm on the weekdays so if you eat dinner at a reasonable time, you shouldn't worry about parking on the street. Great service. Food comes out surprisingly fast. The last 2 times i came here on a Saturday morning for brunch there was no wait!!! This is one of my favorite breakfast spots in OKC and i need to start coming here in the evenings as well. We got the eggs benny, avocado toast, and salmon board. All delicious. Their coffee is also really good, and this sounds weird but they have the best water it's filtered and just tastes better than most This is a really cute place for groups and they have a huge patio as well. I had their signature boneless braised rib with risotto and asparagus. Heavenly! The meat was tender, with a flavorful gravy. The risotto cooked and spiced perfectly. I have been here for both brunch and dinner now and have really enjoyed my meals! I am hopeful that this is the concept that remains in this space when it has had serial tenants over the years. My favorite item on the menu is their take on poutine called frites and gravy. Their brown gravy is delicious, the cheese curds melt in your mouth and the fries have a great crunch. I've had this both times I've visited so far which can now be considered a staple. My husband was a fan of his BELT and country fried steak. I also liked the chilaquiles and ora king salmon. It's awesome to have an option for brunch every day instead of just the weekends. With the variety and quality of the menu, you will surely find something good whenever you go. I am a big fan of Social Deck + Dining for its simple but delicious menu. The staff is always very welcoming, happy to answer questions, and offer suggestions on their favorites of the day. The blueberry donut is a must, the charcuterie platter is divine, and the brunch is one of my favorites. The dining area is a large open space with a nice, long bar but note that this design can create a very festive (loud) atmosphere. They have two outside dining options: one large area facing 23rd and a small patio in the back. They were easily able to accommodate our group of seven and we didn't have to wait for hours on a "waitlist" like you do for a lot of other brunch places on a Saturday.
