I was expecting the worst, but to my surprise it was a big relief , I was able to speak to a real person within 10 minutes at 9:30 in the morning!!! Had an appointment in the morning at this office and everything ran smoothly. The security officers were very respectful and helpful. The lady at window 2 was patient and respectful too. The reason I am only giving 4 instead of 5 stars is because of the phone operator on Monday afternoon was very rude and hanged up on me several times when I was trying to tell her that setting up an appointment requires me to call them and cannot be done online. Absolutely trash. The "security" guards are insanely rude, mean and unacceptable people. They hold a high horse just letting people into the office. But will talk the most meanest disrespectful words to anyone and everyone in sight. I got into it with one of the guards saying I didn't have an appointment when my name was on the appointment list. The officer at the entrance was rude , very cold person. Once we got in the elevator the following office was even ruder . Once inside the office the officer that printed my ticket was pleasant he treated us with respect and kindness . Ms. Maldonado was very rude. She informed me that this was the second notice they had sent me because I didnt show up to the first meeting, that was a lie , I never got a previous notice. She asked me if I had left the country to which I answered no, which was the truth, she told that she had ways to find out if I was lying. Around afternoon, I was finally able to speak to a representative over the phone in which was the most inconsiderate rudest person I have ever spoken to in my life. This representative was dismissive and spoke aggressively. My parents are of age and need help. This 'customer service' representative lacks empathy and just tries to get you off the phone as soon as possible. She just abruptly said no we can't see them in person send a fax to this number. I then asked her if I could just speak to a manager or someone else that can help. She then kept speaking over me and said that there is no supervisor there for me to speak to and slammed the phone on me. I tried to call back but it was very difficult to speak to someone again. I called another SSA office in which they explained to me that this isn't the first complaint they are receiving about this office and even though were supposed to call the location in which we reside in that he will just help me out since there was no way of me to get a hold of anyone in the Glendale location. He said they are receiving a lot of complaints about the Glendale location as well. Thank goodness for this SSA worker in a different location. He was actually able to help us out. I have already brought this information to SSA and I will do everything in my power to make sure this gets seen, even if I have to file a complaint with the Attorney State General because this is just unacceptable. When we approach to window 15 the lady was very rude and disrespectful. I respect all the rules that she has to follow base on Social Security guidelines, however I have heard of her from several people that she is giving hard time to many and she's very disrespectful, as well as she is very discriminative against certain race, which is something I disagree very much. If I could give 0 stars I would! I have been on hold for over 4 hours and counting. My husband passed away and I applied for social security benefits for my 3 children. I did this on December 27th, 2021. I called mid January because I hadn't heard anything nor received anything. They told me to call back by February 25th if I hadn't received anything yet. So I call at 9:01am today which is February 24th (a day early, not a big deal) the representative took my information and told me to please hold to check on the status! Well let's see I'm still on hold and it's 1:16pm and no one has checked in to say anything! This is some BS. It should be illegal to have someone on hold this long! I parked in the structure and cut through Dick's Sporting Goods, which ended up being perfect since it's right across the street. service - they prioritize social security cards so I was in and out in 30 minutes. My son is severely disabled. We applied for SS for him when he turned 18 - which was over a year ago. We have not made any mistakes and have not withheld any information. Our application has been 90% complete for many months. Phone calls we make to SS Glendale go unanswered. I am aware of the personnel shortage and am sympathetic to that. People can excuse lack of knowledge, or lack of understanding, but how can people excuse bad and negative behavior to those in need of simple information and direction to what their needs are. I don't know your name but i will strive to find out, simply because those in need don't need the additional burden of speaking to you. They need to know who you are. Here is the most precious of phone numbers, the direct line to the Glendale SS office: 855.886.9633 If this number no longer works, call the direct office line to the Pasadena SS office and ask for Glendale SS phone number. Pasadena's direct line: 877.255.1508 Get to the SS office 10-15 earlier than your appt. They called my number earlier than my appt., almost as soon as I checked into their computer with my appt. 2) Parking is free, close and easy across the street at the Glendale Galleria's Macy's. I walked thru Macy's and crossed the street. You can park at Macy's and not worry about time. I was in+out of SS in 20 minutes. The person I had was helpful and efficient. Yes, I am giving a government establishment a 4-star! Well, it's mostly for the wonderful guards, who are very considerate and helpful. Also, few agents I got on the phone, who were helpful. The place is well-run too, given the fact that it's super busy. The agents at the windows are let me say "hit & miss" depending on who you get. But they are efficient, sometimes impatient, sometimes helpful. (yes, I have been there 6 times in 4 months, and called 3 times!) Mostly though, the guards, they smile and are kind, the ones at the elevators downstairs, and also at check in. Thank you for the attitude and kudos to them! Having said that hope I don't have to go back, but if I do, at least the guards are nice! read more

Reviews are kind of pointless for the Social Security office because if you need to go here, you need to go here. It's not like you can tout your business around elsewhere or call about for quotes. With that said, here's my review. Good: It's clean and most of the staff are friendly. Bad: You will feel like an extra from the waiting room scene in Beetlejuice - take a ticket and wait an indeterminable length of time. The security guards here are friendly and helpful, but once you step past them the place is a cross between a DMV and a prison. There are people yelling, old ladies crying...it's pretty bleak. The representative I dealt with was extremely rude and I had to wait an hour and a half to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor seemed to be the only one with any customer service training and although she was unable to help me in the end, she was at least empathetic and could clearly explain policies. It may be a karen move, but I recommend speaking to a supervisor as soon as you can here. Unfortunately this circle of hell is pretty much unavoidable, so all this yelp review can really do is mentally prepare you for the experience. This was my first experience with Social Security. After going to Iraq for two years I had to heal some things . I am back at work and doing well now. After 3+ years I was able to get a one time SS allotment to help with bills. They had an old bank account number and so the electronic deposit was sent back. I am right now sitting in an SS office for the third time. I have also made several phonecalls to rude and inadequate SS employees. I am a happy person and was very nice and respectful to these people. I am giving them the information they need to identify myself and give them the new banking info. They aren't just unhelpful they are rude and cruel. These people who hold our money and work for us would be fired on the spot if this was a private company which it absolutely should be. I was also a police officer and no matter what kind of day I had I treated people with kindness and respect. These employees at SS should be screened better and there should be people fired for this type of behavior. read more

Make an appointment . It will be almost 2 months out before you come in but it is worth it. The lines are long, but we were there less then 30 mins since we had an appointment. Parking is very pricey, be ready its cash only, if you can find a spot . There are only 2 bathrooms, and 1 was broken... so go before you come. We were here this morning. Took us 2 hrs before they called us. Parking cost us $11.25. The lady that talked to us was at the No. 26 window. We felt that the lady was lacking patience and do not have the care of dealing with people, especially the job calls to be an adviser to seniors who are past their prime in understanding and comprehension. Felt like they were trying to avoid helping me and giving me the run around. (No appointments available, "come first thing in the morning and we may be able to see you that day" )However, today I called (again) the Glendale, CA office. I talked to someone who was very nice and extremely helpful! Mr. Kid is the name I believe he said. He walked me through things, sent me links, etc. Took a couple calls to get things totally figured out but it was so nice to work with someone who was really trying to help me get enrolled.
