I visited the Houston SSA office off the North Freeway (I-59) seeking a replacement Social Security card. I brought extensive identity documentation, including a certified birth certificate, school records, immunization records, and receipts from the Bureau of Vital Statistics. Despite this, I was refused assistance and denied the opportunity to speak with a supervisor or office manager, without clear explanation of what was missing. Security and law enforcement were involved unnecessarily. I want to note that the responding police officers, especially Officer Rodriguez, acted professionally and respectfully. The issue was the SSA staff's lack of communication and refusal to provide reasonable assistance. I hope this office improves customer service and access to supervisors for individuals seeking help. read more

Phone system is terrible....you get put on hold for as little as 40 minutes to 180 depending on the time of day. However, the phone usually hangs up after 30 minutes sometimes, and at other times 45 minutes. There are other reviews about this office and other SSA offices in Houston about the same time manner it takes to speak to a rep and maybe not get to talk to anyone. Now...in person at this office... I've had to file a complaint on an employee with the last name Arzu. She wouldn't give her full name and neither did the Supervisor (Smith and Saucedo)! This is very unprofessional and should be addressed by their superiors as well. I will give a full review about my experience and what I had to go through at this Aldine Mail Rt office in the next review. Not looking good on this office and many citizens that I visually see there are not happy with treatment from these government employees. A review on my visits will be posted to follow. I don't understand how our Social Security Administration is operating. I've called the last 4 days and was told I would have to be put on hold and the estimated wait time will be approximately 120 minutes. So I waited ,2 3, 4, hours and then it would hang up so I would call back and wait another 2 or 3 hours and no one would answer the phone. However, a recording would keep prompting me to leave a review. I went to the website and left messages to let them know the wrong amount was deposited for my disability check into my bank with no response. I can't call to make an appointment. I can't get through using the phone and I'm not getting the right answers using the website. What Am I supposed to do? I know they are busy but this is not a functioning operation. read more

This is by far the BEST experience I've had at the social security office. From the security guard at the door, to the woman who handled issuing my replacement card. The wait was short, the customer service was superb and the process was quick. I loved how everything seemed to be in order, and the woman who I had the pleasure of working with was knowledgeable and very kind. I've been struggling to get disability for years now. I have yet another appointment set for next year to try to get disability approval. I received this letter for a hearing on December 1st which included a letter from this location but the address states it was sent from Oklahoma. When I checked the mail, I found that there was something unknown inside. Upon opening it, I saw that it was a mashed piece of candy, particularly a Reese's. While this may have been an accident...my hearing is on Valentine's Day, which makes it more concerning. Regardless of how it happened to end up in the letter, it's careless and unprofessional. At this point, the Social Security Administration in Texas is a joke. I'm only carrying on to advocate for myself as it's so important. If no one else will stand up for you then at least take a stand for yourself. I don't expect anything to come of this in the end. Note that the address is 4015 Aldine Bender Rd, so it's not this particular office but this letter is associated with the Social Security office in Houston in general. read more
