As I right this review it is 11:00pm we have been without power for six hours and FPL keeps moving the time out for correction. Our food will possibly spoil and no FPL person or truck can be seen, FPL is a major JOKE!............. Customer service has confirmed that power will be restored at 2:30am it is now 1:00am still no electric power, 8hours with no power this is crazy!...........it is now 3:00am still no electric power but they are working on the problem two FPl trucks. I have no confidence in this company (10hours ) without power.

I recently needed help moving my elderly stepdad within the home, and it was after 11pm, so I…read moredidn't want to possibly wake my neighbors. My stepdad is normally able to help us move him by providing some strength (he's a big guy), but that night he was fighting a UTI and just didn't have any strength to give. I couldn't move him by myself. I heard that the Fire Department could assist us, and so I called. They were wonderful and sent 2 paramedics right out. The two guys were really great and they make short work of moving him. I thanked them for this amazing service and they were so gracious and friendly. Wouldn't even take a tip. I would not use such a service on any regular basis because I know these folks have much more important work to do, but in that moment where I was truly out of options, it was a lifesaver. We are so lucky to have such a great fire department!

Whether these concerns are over global warming and its impact on the environment for future generations, the immediate risk and safety concerns of the surrounding communities or simply the cost justifications behind regulation or deregulation. There are groups on both sides of these arguments working tirelessly to justify their convictions for it or against it, but both sides can agree it's a vital part of our existence. In the case of nuclear power those advantages are both a clean and environmentally friendly method of electrical generation that's affordable, safe and reliable. The St. Lucie Power Plant located off of A1A on Hutchinson Island approximately 8 miles southeast of Fort Pierce, has been producing safe, reliable and low-cost electricity since 1976 when its first nuclear reactor was put online producing about 1 megawatt of electricity (1 megawatt = 1 million watts) of electricity -- enough power to supply the annual needs of more than 1 million homes. The second unit of equal size began operating in 1983 doubling the capacity of this generating station. This location was chosen because of its low-risk seismic zone, although St. Lucie is located in the lowest hazard zone for earthquakes according to the (USGS) this facility was constructed to withstand earthquakes and other natural events stronger than ever recorded in the region. The plant is elevated 20 feet above sea level to protect against flooding and extreme storm surges and successfully withstood the back- to-back impact of two hurricanes in 2004. This nuclear-power plant was built to withstand winds in excess of 195-mph and also the effects associated with these types of events with an abundances of redundant controls and emergency power supplies. This facility has been rated as one of the top performing U.S. nuclear power plants and has maintained a reasonable safety record since its commissioning. Although we would like to assume there are no inherent risk, in this industry it's more about how these risks are managed and the over-sight by a variety of agencies that fully understand the complexity of this technology and assumes responsibility to protect people and property. This plant is one of the many reasons Floridian's have some of the lowest cost per kilowatt hour in the country and a record of reliability that rivals more regions in the U.S. In order to educate the public this plant operates a visitor center, called the Energy Encounter, it allows visitors to experience interactive exhibits on electricity, nuclear energy and the environment and the admission is free it's open to the public Tuesdays & Thursdays 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. a visit here may put your mind at ease and certainly give you a better understanding of the demands facing the country's energy producers in today's world, who doesn't expect the lights to come on when we flick the switch, it's not magic you know it requires a never ending commitment by the men and women living in our community that work in this demanding industry to provide this service for all of us, the most privileged people on earth.

When after it storms they Put notes on the door this has happened a few times? about how their Internet doesn't work properly so instead of letting people do business inside for like stamps and stuff because what they can't bring it up on a computer to ship or passports they locked the door? Which is very unethical business number one no post office employee is out there letting people know they had a lady that sat out there who does the marijuana petitions who everybody kept asking about what was happening and then the post office employee female came out and started yelling at her and telling her she needs to get off the property. It's against the law which it's not it's not an ordinance she's allowed to be at any governmental property And then call the police on her how discriminatory and rude and unprofessional Can you possibly get and thinking that you own a post office, which this post office out of every post office in this whole city has been the worst the overbearing ,overcrowded ,understaffed & unconnected to the community! As far as I'm concerned . I went in there 3 weeks ago, my father passed away 12 /24 i've been trying to get the address from the insurmountable bulk mail he received to change to my address for just bills since I'm the executor stop on the 15th of this month and it's still coming here. it's ridiculous.!

This site is across the parking lot from the Manatee Observation and Education Center in Ft. Pierce. So, after finishing at the Manatee Center we made the mandatory pilgrimage across the parking lot in search of more travel literature. As visitor centers go, this one was clean, bright and staffed by a couple of very pleasant and helpful ladies. It was a bit light in the area of available travel related literature. Still worth the stop.
