Great spot to unwind! Plenty of parking makes getting here easy. The staff is super friendly and attentive, which really adds to the experience. I love the wide variety of drink and hookah flavor options -- you can actually taste the quality in their hookah, which is rare. It's a perfect place to chill and catch up with friends. Sooo the lounge is cute. Nice decor. Vibe is right. Hookah smokes well, great flavors & prices are tolerable. Drinks are strongggg. Following safe covid practices. So why 3 stars right? 1. No food, not even a mozzarella stick. There is a bomb Caribbean spot next door, ijs. 2. The guidelines and customer service is sketchy and ever-changing depending on who you speak with. For example, went on a Thursday night a little after 6, wasn't charged a minimum and was offered drink specials. Came another Thursday, little after 6, told it was "club night" which entailed a $250 minimum per table or $100 per person at the bar. Gasp lol. To then be told later at the bar, I could run a regular tab at the bar but I had a max of 90 mins. I mean, who's making the rules here?! Clearly, I nor the staff have a clue. Don't get it twisted, I plan to return. Again, it's a cute spot and the music is good! There's just a few things I suggest Mgmt works on. The people here were kind of rude, asking us $1000 to sit somewhere private. Other tables were like $300, and for this club it's just not worth it. I would love to give this establishment 5 stars because the hookah is great. The BMW is really good and the ambiance is pretty chill. Nice music, esp the first DJ(don't remember his name) the 2nd DJ is good too but he definitely caters to the younger crowd so I don't really know anything about their music. I just know my son who is in his late 20's would prob love it. Although they don't serve food they allow u to order from other places or bring ur own. The Jamaican place next door is excellent and the cauliflower pizza from Vocelli's which is in the same parking lot is really good too. The part that blew me is, they charge $350+ just to sit at the larger seating area when you walk in to the right after happy hour is over....somewhere around 7-8pm! We came for my girlfriends bday and it was 10 of us total for happy hour(great btw, half off the bill.) When we inquired about keeping the table after 8:30pm the waitress said it was $350 just to sit there, not including drinks. We were thinking this meant we had to order $350 or more in drinks and that would've been cool with 10 ppl, but WHAT???? Just to sit there not including drinks.....NAW!!!! Way too much. Now I'm about to go in. Society Lounge has some of the WORST customer service. When you walk in, no one greets you to see if you want bar seating or a table to smoke hookah; you have to walk around and figure out how to put your name on "the list". STRIKE ONE. Then when you are seated, your waiter will always take forever in a day to get you your drinks and hookah. STRIKE TWO. Then, there is one waiter, ugh I wish I remembered his name, he talks too much when you just want to chill and kick it with your friends. He is awkward and just rude. He said something real slick to my girlfriend the other night when she was playing with him & I had to chime in, but let me just say, I don't remember his name, but I do know, I will never come to this place again because of him. STRIKE THREEEEE! But the worst part about it, it doesn't stop there! So apparently Society Lounge THINKS they are in DC with their extremely high prices for hookah ($30) and drinks ($15-25). Tonight was the Grand Opening and so far so good. The venue is beautiful inside. They've paid attention to each and every detail when it comes to decor and comfort. It reminds me of some of my fave ATL and NYC hookah spots with an upscale and sophisticated environment and crowd. The hookah was good and the prices are reasonable on both hookah and alcohol. Saturday night my friend and I decided to go out to continue celebrating my birthday. We had decided on a bar at the National harbor but it was so crowded we decide to try somewhere else. A friend of mine had told me about this spot so we decided to drive out Waldorf and check it out. Glad we came. The space is a little small but what hookah spot is large. We were carded at the door by security who informed us that no food is sold inside so we were able to bring in outside food if we liked. The couches towards the front were open and a table towards the back which had the reserve sign. There was no hostess at the front so we looked for seating at the bar but were unsuccessful. We started walking towards the table with the couch at the front to sit until a seat became open at the bar but before we could sit down the hostess came to advise us the table was reserved. The table in the back had the reserve sign but the one in the front didn't which is why we thought it would be ok to sit there until something became available. She advised us that she would be seating that section in a moment so some seats should become available at the bar which it did. When we sat at the bar we were greeted by the bartender who was very friendly and personable. My friend ordered a shot which wasn't the typical shot but for the price it was just right. The drinks were a bit pricey in my opinion but they have to make the money up somewhere considering they don't sell food. Ugh.... for the life of me I can't remember what hookah flavor we choice but I do know it had skittles and mt dew in the flavor which was amazing. I got a bartender custom made drink for my birthday which was so DAMN GOOD. It even had a can of red bull. It started to get jumping around 1130 midnight. Gucci mane was blazing thru the speakers which kept everyone upbeat and hype. I would definitely recommend this spot. read more

The place is chill and the decor is ultra fresh it has a full bar and private seating areas for guest there's a flat tv on the wall at every cove which is semi private the bartender is on point and the hookah menu is awesome I got hungry so I ordered in next door I would say keep it grown and sexy lady's can wear a dress and men can sport a jacket and vibe but its definitely a step up for Waldorf a chill local clean spot. Society Lounge is a place you visit when you in the Waldorf area and you just want to be out and chill. I will say that the place has a nice vibe and yes the decor was cute! I went there on a Saturday night and the first thing I noticed that there were no seating at the bar.... I asked the bartender where do you sit if you order a hookah, he stated that you can stand at the bar and smoke or you have to buy a table. Puzzled by the fact that I have to stand up to consume my $15 + drink and smoke my $20 + hookah, I asked how much is a table. He quoted me $130 no including tax and gratuity. Only because I was out for my pre-birthday celebration and because I wore heels did I agree to getting a table. Prior to being seated at the table which is a couch and one table, the service I experienced had been pretty good. Once we were seated the waitress came introduced herself took our first order after that encounter we had to either wave her down or get one of the bouncers to send someone over. Our first order of hookah was garbage we sent it back and ordered the Strawberry Hennessy hookah which was $30 and that was garbage as well. Only because I was familiar with one of the staff members, I complained and he took it to the back and made a fresh one for us which was way better. The bill came at the end of the night totaling at $229... incorporating Taxes, gratuity Most definitely wasn't worth it. Needless to say that my experience wasn't so pleasant here at Society Lounge. I would recommend it to the younger crowd or older folk that doesn't mind standing the whole time. read more

This place definitely has the potential to be nice, however, it's a weird setup. To get hookahs you have to stand by the bar. The small tables are used just for the people who buy the over priced bottles. Large groups must get there extremely early. Also the cover charge at the door is $10 cash if you don't have cash the bouncer will lead you to the back of the bar where you pay a $5 cover fee on your Credit/Debit card. The music is decent but old to early 2000 -2010 music like Soulja Boys Donk. The nice thing about this place is that if you want to get drunk come here because the drinks are straight, they have no chaser. So be careful to not drink and drive. read more

I visited on 2/18/17 to celebrate a friend's birthday. We got there at 9p.m. and stayed until 2a.m. The music thumped, the vibes were right, and the hookah was delicious. We smoked the candy, white mint, and tutti fruitti hookahs and the staff was super attentive to ensuring the coals were turned (because we surely didn't pay attention). The drinks are pretty pricey, but I didn't mind since it was a night out. I paid $25 for two drinks. The blue drink (I think it's called Society Island) is not the best tasting, but it packs a strong punch! I saw some patrons bring their own food. I will keep this in mind if I decide to come here again and stay for a while. Smoking and drinking with no food on the stomach can cause a pretty nasty feeling in the morning. :) Also, there is a cover charge after a certain time. We got here at 9p.m. and didn't have to pay. But a friend arrived around 11p.m. and paid $15 for himself and $5 for his lady. read more

Had an unexpected good time. Good hookah & flavors. However what I don't like is they charge you $300 just to sit down in a section like there are other options to sit. Thankfully they allowed us to sit for a couple hours without paying that and we got hookah & drinks. After time we just decided to leave instead of stand at the bar. Who wants to do that? By the way they also add gratuity to each of your bills and tax. That stuff adds up. They really nickel & dime you here plus drinks are on the higher side. Seen the good reviews, I was heading out the waldorf area and figured Id splash it. The guy at the door was pretty helpful and gave me the good run down, since it was my first time. I hit the bar for a blue mist hookah that was unsatisfying. Changed out very smoothly. Second blue mist tasted just as pedantic. I was able to change to strawberry. A guy named shaq brought it out and said that he wouldve hooked the blue mist up, but he was outside of the spot...he explained that he adds some things to give it that decadent, refreshing blue mist flavor. Anyway, Ima talk to him again next time I want blue mist. So I got strawberry. I wont do that again. But they seem to have an awful lot of flavors, most of which are $20. The ambience is pretty nice looking, and theres a decent amount of space and tvs abound. Bar is U shaped so no missing the bartender. Their beers come in bottles, and $5 for a blue moon isnt too bad. I left the hard drink alone for the night. I can honestly say that I interacted in some capacity with at least 6 employees, and all of them had great attitudes and were accommodating. Definite A+ for service. Again, I was solo and at the bar, your experience may vary. I would definitely come back again, hope shaq can hook up that blue mist so it tastes like somethin. Pleasantly surprised to find a DC caliber night spot in Waldorf (limited amounts of shade, haha). Very classy decor, poppin atmosphere on a Saturday night, no foolishness, sensible crowd w/ a nice ambiance. The hookah itself is a little pricey but I chalked that up to paying for more of the experience than the shisha and pipe itself. If you're in Charles County and are into hookah bars, give Society a try. Caveats: #1: The VIP section is laughable (really? A VIP section in a hookah spot located in a strip mall? In WALDORF?? ). #2: The alcohol infused flavors are a waste- Yeah it sounds cool but the minimal amount of alcohol they add to the water adds nothing to the flavor of the smoke nor the buzz. Checked this place out last night. The atmosphere was laid back and chill, you can tell it's going to be a summer hotspot. The decor was nice, they put a lot of thought into it and that is a plus. I loved the Hookah Menu it is huge and they have some great flavors, so I will be back to try more flavors. They don't serve food, but you can bring food in with you. Comfortable cozy space. Not enough servers yet the ones they do have seem very hard working. I do recommend getting inside before 9:30pm if you're going for a weekend night of fun. No computerized system for the wait on the table, they just write your name down on a pad and you should go check in with the manager that moves a bit to see if you're up next. Bartenders 4/5... servers 3.9/5...Great prices on drinks, you can order food in which is convenient, staff very friendly... Makes for a good time. No tea on Friday and Saturday... Hopefully that's different for daytime patrons. I enjoyed it and the music was at a good level. It's good to try but not worth the extra 10 bucks for the fruit topped hookahs. Definite repeat! Great ambiance. Friendly staff who were prompt and attentive. The bouncer even took the time to explain everything and give us a sense of the menu. Very chill spot. Wouldn't call it upscale as some have. No "upscale" place would allow outside fast food, short-shorts and sneakers. It's causal chic which isn't a bad thing. Only reason why I didn't rate 5 stars is because there isn't a kitchen. Although being able to bring in outside food is nice, many of the surrounding places are closed during Society's prime hours. This place is ridiculous. We arrived at 9:06pm and was told that to get one of the 10 unoccupied tables we had to pay $125. If we had showed up 7 minutes earlier we wouldn't have to pay anything. Ask for a manager​, Lee and he allowed us to have a table for an hour. After an hour we were told that we had to go to the standing bar. They transferred our tab to the bar and took our hookah from us. I asked them to return it, because we were not finished, and they brought us another that tasted like cigarette butts. At this point we were beyond irritated and asked for our tab so we could leave. One hookah and 2 drinks cost $71! $13 per drink, and $30 for the hookah (which we knew about) but in addition to sales tax there was also a tobacco tax and a 20% gratuity added, there was only two of us!
