Prices are pretty reasonable and the owner is very amicable, and will try hard to get you what you're looking for. The shop is arresting from the outside and really stands out from the road's otherwise humdrum shopfronts. Some lovely bookshelves in here that would cost you a fortune elsewhere.

Lovely interesting local shop with a wide selection of greetings cards, nice pressies ranging from…read more£5 upwards, and a very enticing looking children's section which I must confess I have not yet visited. unsurprisingly the shop is on the pricey side and caters for the pricier gift market, but if you want something beautiful and frivolous for a special girlfriend there's no better place to blow £35 on a scrap of pretty fabric! The staff are lovely without being overly pushy, and the shop is worth a decent browse as otherwise you're in danger of grabbing the first thing you see rather than rooting around for the best hidden gems.

The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable, delivery is cheap and…read morereliable, and they have everything you could need in the garden, from onion setts to netting to a good variety of ornamental pots and flagstones etc. The plants are arranged by type (shrubs / perennials / bedding / herbs) so everything is easy to find. One of the nice things about this garden centre is that in their shrub area they always have a nice stock of Acers in (the trees, not the computers), and they're very reasonably priced.
