The only thing I am unsure about is their sales! Since I bought our bed I have seen quite a few adverts for Warren Evans on the tube/in timeout etc... and they always seem to have a sale. Upon moving to London and leaving behind our first "wow" mattress, we needed a replacement. I wanted quality and I didn't want it to be covered in flame retardants that leave you sleeping in a sea of VOCs. I came across Warren Evans online and with the showroom just a short walk away, it was a no brainer. The showroom as nice - all the models there for us to see with cheery salespeople saying "go ahead, lay on it all the way" and "no worries - you can get your shoes on it." After hopping around from mattress to mattress, we left the store with two quotes in our hands and guaranteed price even though the sale would have ended before we called in the order. Not bad! When it was finally delivered the men arrived right on time, were very friendly and careful and were out in about 20 minutes. Amazing. When I was left to look at the bed for the first time, I wanted to cry. It's beautiful people, it really is. It just oozes craftsmanship. My favorite part is the little tufted buttons on top! And, to top it all off, man is this thing comfortable. Absolutely NO complaints from the mattress snob. **A special note for those of you concerned about harmful chemicals - they have a line of 100% organic mattresses, certified by the soil association. Even the flame retardant is naturally derived. It's a wonderful feeling to put your head on the pillow at night knowing you're breathing in clean air! UPDATE: I've now slept on this mattress for about a month and a half, and I just can't explain how comfortable it is. I used to have to get out of bed after 8 hours because of discomfort, but now I'm sleeping 10 hours and feel fit as a fiddle in the morning!

I searched and searched for furniture that would go inside. First I looked for a sofa bed/futon then noticed the furniture. Despite the name the actual futon beds have a fairly limited rage, they are large, bulky and actually quite expensive. I got a much better, more compact leather sofabed bed for only slightly more. In addition I had bad reports from several people that they dont stay together but were admittedly very comfortable. The futon company also has some more traditional Tatami mats and sleepover solutions (which of course needs extra storage). What this place stands out for is their really well designed good quality furniture for small spaces. I ended up buying an extending console table with matching fold away benches and a mirror cupboard; one of only two I found that fit the space (and trust me I was a nerd about this!). The other one was in full oak and around £500 while this was a veneer and solid oak mix that was less than half that price (list). Although the prices are high I didn't feel they were overpriced. The final thing I bought was a bed that folded into a cube/pouffe. The same thing was £150 in muji while being £100 here AND it turned into a mini table! (Yes I geeked out!) For the large items there is a continual sale. When I went there was either 20% off all items or buy one item and get the next half price so you can always depend on at least 20% off the 'list' price by whatever combo they were offering that week. Time will tell if the furniture lasts but the store is full of space saving ideas, indeed, I found the stuff here more useful and compact than even the venerable IKEA.

Almost a year, actually. We needed a specific size, had a lot of preferences on shape and comfort, and couldn't agree on color. We trekked down to their showroom (as well as a few further away) and finally decided to go for it. They required payment in full (around $3400) which should have been my first red flag. I placed an order anyway and was told it would be delivered in 4-6 weeks. Maybe an extra week because we were slightly outside their delivery area. This was on July 30. And then, crickets. 6 weeks later (Sept 10) I get an email "We're closing!! Showroom sale all this week!" I email back: what does this mean for current orders? Technically you should be shipping my couch by now, so even if you're closing in 3 days, the third party trucking company should already have the order. No reply. Two weeks later I write a furious email to the UK division. A few days later someone gets back to me saying they're understaffed and overworked. They say they are canceling my order unless I can get someone in the city to accept the delivery and then take on the task of getting it to me in NH. At this point, I'm furious. They were going to cancel my order without even telling me? I do have unemployed friends in NY but before I started begging for favors, I emailed back confirming the final price with the promised discount and without the NH shipping fees. They responded saying "Oh, great news! We're going to ship your couch after all!" How is this great news? This is your only job. This has been your only job for over 8 weeks. In that email, they said it would take two more weeks. I should have cancelled. I really should have. But I was so invested at this point and really didn't want to put in even more research and then wait another two months for another couch. I wanted the one I ordered. After this email, it was crickets again. I was getting ready to contest the charge with my credit card company. Five weeks later (yesterday) I received the couch. It looks good. It feels ok. It gives me anxiety just to look at it. I can't believe the shit this company has put me through, and after all, there was no discount given, no apologies, and nobody to take responsibility. TL;DR: 4-6 week delivery window actually took 12, and they couldn't have been more rude and condescending about it. The company closed after taking 100% deposits from customers and would have run off with the money if I hadn't chased them down over it. I realize they're only in the UK now, but I would never recommend them to a friend over there and feel that I need to properly warn. Their employee reviews on Glassdoor are equally unfavorable. There is a genuine difference in quality of the wood, hence the price. The most important thing for a good night sleep is a good mattress. Don't bother buying it here, there are decent ones and when you try them for a few minutes they are fine, but for a whole week (at my friend's house) they are not. However, two things I would recommend from here are: 1. A mattress topper. What? For £55 this will make a difference between a sumptuous good night sleep or a toss and turn 'sleep' They give that extra spring. 2. A bean bag. Lovely to sit on, play about with you daughter and many other uses, be creative! Although the colours are quite limited (chocolate and beige) change their look with an exciting throw. However, if you are looking for furniture that is not mass produced look somewhere else.

Chased and chased throughout May, to be told was going to be June, due to delays. Sales staff aren't able to tell me what the delays are though. Then was told that would be July. When I asked to cancel my order as they have totally failed to deliver, was told that there was a 30% restocking fee- £1,436 for absolutely nothing. When I asked for the complaints procedure, I was told they don't have one, as they have never had a complaint. I asked for the directors contact details, which they wouldn't give, he rang off a withheld number, and didn't call me back when requested. they say that they are a small company, but actually have 20 showrooms. I have no faith at all in their 15 year frame guarantee or the stain cover- they can't even get the sofa made! If you are looking for good quality service STAY WELL CLEAR OF SOFAS AND STUFF.
