I purchased a sectional on January 31, 2021. I finally got it in December 16 I believe. I was not happy with the "custom made couch", which cost over more than $3,000.00. There was a run in the cushion, the seams don't line up and the bottom of the recliner has a big space in between. I spoke with Jeff, and someone did come to look at the couch on December 20, I have found that in order to get answers, you have to keep calling or go to the store. (Yes, I know there was Christmas Eve, Christmas and New Year's, but there is no communication. I had to go down the third week in January to ask Jeff what the status was. And he goes, "Oh I am just waiting on one more thing". Again, as I said to him where is your communication, I had to come to your store to find out. Then Ellen, called me around January 24, saying they are getting me a new cushion and Jeff will come and put it on. It's now February 7th, haven't heard the status of when this will happen. Purchased a sectional in 2000 and again in January 2020 from Jeff. Quality of the 1st one was amazing. Second couch purchased almost a year ago is very good as well but the build of the first couch seemed better and the fabric on this second couch while rated very well seems to ball up in areas that get medium use. This is a review for customer service. I understand it is COVID, but it is the responsibility of the company to reach out to customers to update them that THE FACTORY HAS CLOSED. I should not be having to hound down the salesman to update me. On top of that, they have a policy to loan sofas in case of this happening, and again I was not notified until I asked. They should offer this, as it is policy to provide a loaner should the factory close...how would I know to ask for a loaner if I do not know that they have this kind of policy to begin with?? Highly recommend Sofa Bed Etc. on route 110 in Farmingdale. My wife and I were in search of a specific sectional: it had to include a queen sleeper, pie-shaped wedge, and a recliner. We had been to 4-5 other stores and were told "it couldn't be done". Not only did Sofa Bed Etc. have exactly what we wanted, but the owner Jeff and his sales associate Ellen could not have been more warm, knowledgeable, and helpful. They fully answered all of our questions and never once pressured us into a sale. The whole experience was very positive. I found the most perfect sofa bed for my apartment! It deceivingly looks like a regular couch, but actually has a Tempur-Pedic mattress within it. It was delivered yesterday and looked better than I remembered :) At this store location, you can spend as much time as you'd like testing out all the models. This place was a happy surprise. I almost didn't go in, since the appearance is rather basic. However, as a result of the name and the fact that I had already visited 3 other stores in Rte 110 with disappointing results, I decided to give this place a chance. I am so happy I did. Jeff was delightful to deal with; extremely pleasant, up-beat and very knowledgeable. If you are looking for a sofa bed, DO go inside and give this place a chance. If I could give a zero I would... let me do you all a favor and tell you to not even bother and don't waste your time!!!!! Jeff is a complete a** and he is your classic salesman, he gets the sale and you never hear from him again. We ordered the couch the first week of September and we only heard from him when we were forced to call him. We waited months and everything was pushed off and it was a crappy excuse every time. Finally we get the delivery date for March and we took off work and we waited for the phone call for the delivery... We never got a call!!! SHOCKER! We tried calling the store multiple times and Jeff never picked up and he made excuses after excuses, in the end the the couch was made wrong and had to go back to get fixed. My theory is they never even made the couch, we are left with nothing but lies so I believe absolutely nothing he says. I am so pleased with the Klaussner Maclin sofa, chaise and large storage ottoman on wheels that I ordered from Jeffrey at Sofabed Etc in Farmingdale. I ordered these items on February 11, 2019 and received delivery on April 6. Everything came in perfect condition and the delivery men were very nice. The sofa would not fit down my basement stairs because of the narrowness of the staircase. Jeffrey arranged for Tim Gottilla of Tim's Furniture Repair and Refinishing to come and take the sofa apart and then reassemble it in my basement a few days later. I was nervous about this however Tim and his helper did an excellent job. It did cost me $200 additional for them to do this but I had no choice since our TV room is in the basement. I highly recommend Sofabed Etc. and would definitely buy from Jeffrey again. read more

Just got my sofa bed delivered and I absolutely love it. Jeff was amazing to deal with. My daughter has special needs and I needed a comfortable mattress for family or aides when they help me with my daughter to sleep on. The room is also not huge and I needed something that my daughter would be able to sit on. Jeff was very knowledgable on all the different sofas and was very accommodating. He helped me customize the perfect size (apartment size its called) that she can sit in without hitting her head and an amazing mattress (there were more mattresses choices then I thought-I never realized you could customize mattresses. My last sleeper had that bar that went into my back). The price as also the best for a quality sleeper. Overall, I would highly recommend this store and Jeff was really great. My fiance and I entered sofabed etc in order to buy a sofabed. While the salesman, Jeff, was friendly, courteous and took the time to work with us, the great experience ended there. When the day came to receive our sofabed, no one showed up. I called the store and had the unfortunate and horrific experience of speaking with Steven. Steven insisted that Jeff (who was not in that day) did NOT make the appointment for that day and told me very adamantly that I was lying about having an appointment. When I insisted on speaking to Jeff, he told me that Jeff's mother had passed away, so, to quote: "some things are far more important than your couch." When I insisted that I had an appointment with Jeff, Steven started yelling at me to the point I had to ask him to calm down. Suddenly, Steven paused and said "I understand what's going on here, you are discriminating against me." When I asked him what exactly he believed I was discriminating against, he refused to tell me, just kept insisting he had experienced this sort of intolerance many times in his life. After making it clear that I preferred to speak with Jeff, Steven informed me that Jeff would be in on Monday (this conversation took place on Saturday) an then continued to insist that Jeff's loss was far more important than my couch and I should give him time to mourn, even once he returns to work. FINALLY, Monday came. No one answered the phone at Sofabed etc. I left messages for Jeff to call me. He never did. I finally got him on the phone on Wednesday. First, Jeff defended Steven, insisting that "there is always two sides to a story" and he didn't believe Steven would be so rude (Believe me, he was). He also insisted that he never made an appointment to have the couch delivered and I"d have to wait until his manufacturer called him and said the couch was delivered to his shop before it could be delivered to me. Three weeks later, I finally had my couch. My experience with Sofabed etc once they had my money was terrible. Steven was by far the worst and most unprofessional experience worker I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. Sofabed etc. is on route 110 which has plenty of furniture stores. You are best off skipping this one. While the initial sales of their sofabed is friendly, the experience takes a terrible nosedive once you pay, leave the store and wait for your couch. Avoid this store at all costs, and save yourself from having to get yelled at and called a racist (or homophobic...I still don't know what he felt I was discriminating against) by Steven. read more

All the people that are raving about this place haven't had their sofabed's very long. Wait and see what I'm talking about. I purchased a sofa bed here and have regretted it ever since. Jeff misguided me into buying an uncomfortable sofa bed. It has been a few years since I bought it and the cushions went from firm to sunken. I keep rotating the cushions turning them upside down and moving them around but they all sink. This sofa has really hurt my back!! My best advise is to go somewhere else. If you haven't had a chance to see the new show room I suggest you go. I've been going to Sofabed, Etc. for the last 16 years. I have been through one sectional with kids (cutting the fabric) and cats (clawing the back to get in the recliners) and the second with dogs (literally eating the cushions) . If it weren't for kids and animals I really feel like the quality of my furniture would have stood the test of time. I'm now about to receive my third sectional and I'm so excited. Jeff is absolutely amazing and knowledgeable. I've never met someone so good at his job. He ISN'T a salesmen at all. He's more like an interior designer. STAY AWAY FROM SOFABED ETC & JEFF G THE OWNER IN FARMINGDALE NY. If I didn't have to give any stars I wouldn't. I ordered sofa's back in APRIL 21, 2017 so I could have my sofa bed before JUNE 29th 2017 for my family coming from out of town JUNE 30th 2017. The ONLY reason I ordered the sofa is because I was told they come apart and can be built in my apartment because I knew it wouldn't fit up my stairs. The delivery company came in JUNE 25th, The sofa was NOT taken apart and didn't fit up my stairs. We called Jeff and asked WHY it wasn't taken apart because it doesn't fit. He then said the company needs to take the sofa back so it can be taken apart and redelivered on ANOTHER day and I would have to pay $200 which I was never told about when I placed my order. So It was rescheduled to JUNE 30th the day my family was flying in. June 30th came and the sofa was delivered the SAME way it was the first time. So it DIDN'T FIT, now I have family over and NO where to sleep which I explained to him. I called JEFF, He said there is nothing I can do the sofa has to be taken back and reschedule AGAIN. My dad went to the store and JEFF said " Oh it's for real you have people flying in, because people lie about that all time". Jeff called me 3 TIMES, and said he can't have my sofa until JULY 7th. So JEFF said it would be free of charge to put it together not once but TWICE in our conversations and he even offered for me to buy a blow up bed for $40 and he would reimburse me. So now my sofa is scheduled to be delivered and put together on JULY 7TH, 2017 after my family as left (11 weeks since I placed my order). The guy puts my sofa together and asked for the $200. I told him JEFF said it was free. I called JEFF, He told me he would have NEVER said that and I should SWEAR on my dad that he said that because I am trying to play games with him. When I said i would swear because he was freaking lying and I said I wish I had him recorded he said it will be taken care of and hung up on me. If you ever have a conversation with him make sure its recorded or written on poaper with his signature because he is a LIAR!!!! *Needless to say JEFF G is nice until he gets your money then he is a nasty, rude, disgusting, arrogant person. NO ONE SHOULD EVER BUY ANYTHING FROM SOFABED ETC. Purchased a sofa, love seat and recliner three years ago. The owner Jeff was very knowledgeable and friendly. Great prices, hundreds of fabrics to choose from, delivery time was exactly as promised. This furniture is very well-made and durable. I noticed the other day that the stuffing in one of the cushions had flattened out a little. Just as it says, it was as good as we got! Unfortunately, my husband and I were victims of Hurricane Sandy, and it took us two years before we even thought about living room furniture. When the time came this past Spring, we decided, after much thought, to go with a sofabed and matching love seat. When I first ordered my sofa bed with Jeff' s guidance I thought it was the most pleasant experience . I left the store feeling good about my sofa bed which was guaranteed to arrive by the requested date . I had family coming over from London and needed the extra sleeper. I call Jeff 8 days before my scheduled delivery to confirm that my sofa will arrive on the date promised, he reassured me all was ok. Two days before my scheduled date he leaves a message stating my sofa was not on the manifest and would not be delivered, he offers me a loaner which ended up being 18 inches smaller than the one ordered. I was promised my sofa will definitely be delivered the following week. On the day of the re delivery I call the store at 10:30 to get an idea of what time the sofa would be delivered. No answer at the store which supposedly opens at 10 am., I leave a message for Jeff. I call again @ 11:15 , he finally answers, has no clue about my delivery,, calls a dispatcher and then proceeds to tell me something happened with the truck on Friday and has no idea when I will get my sofa and won't know anything until Monday. When I rightfully get upset about this second screw up, he tells me that all I am thinking about is my sofa and didn't even say I'm sorry??? Well I was totally taken aback, why the hell should I have said I'm sorry. Jeff then tells me his brother in law was killed by a drunk driver, well how I'm I supposed to know this, and sad as that might be, it has nothing to do with business. Also, when i initailly learned my order was being delayed,the first time, I expressed my utter disappointment to Jeff, whereby he told me that I needed to put things in perspective and preceeds to tell me that both his parents had cancer and were in Sloan Kettering. I told him don't go there because my husband died of pancreatic cancer and I am a cancer survivor. Jeff loves playing on customers sympathies ,I also think he is pathological. I have manged customer service call centers and run m y own business's. a professional business person checks their baggage at the door. Here is our story. If you have the time to read it, hopefully you'll heed our warning, if not, just stay away. We looked around for quite a while looking for a sectional for our new home. We couldn't find something that was just right. In mid-August we hit Route 110, walked into a small store where there were a lot of different choices and were told that we could pick from 48 different fabric samples. We were amazed, this seemed great. We found a sectional that we liked and picked a fabric, although we still chose six samples to be mailed to us from the manufacturer directly so we could think about it. We left leaving a deposit for the sectional and I believe we had about a week to finalize the fabric or cancel the order entirely. After that the sofa would go into production and we were committed. We were told that our sofa would be delivered in 6-8 weeks. That night we checked the internet for any information on Sofabed etc. and became extremely concerned. If you're reading this now, you know that there are many negative comments and the ones that are positive, already have been identified as the owner or his wife (using her maiden name) and others affiliated with the store. We called Jeff and were told that some of the negative reviewers were identified as competitors (which I'm sure does happen) and that others were customers who perhaps weren't happy with the wait time, even though they were told that their order could take as long as it was taking (again, I'm sure this does happen). He also said that he encourages customers to write reviews, good or bad, and that the ones that are happy usually don't write (again, that seems logical, you get what you want, and then it's over). So, unfortunately, we proceeded to place the order. So after 15 weeks and excuse after excuse of not getting our furniture on time, we finally received it. It is now the end of November, literally 15 weeks to the day we placed the order. We ordered this sectional with the back cushions to be attached. They weren't. At this point, we really want the couch but are still concerned. The delivery person calls Jeff and I speak with him and he tells me that we are the third delivery today that was supposed to have the back cushions attached and for some reason the manufacturer didn't do it; but it's ok because a service person will come and sew the cushions on. As apprehensive as we were we paid our balance and made an appointment through Jeff for a service person to come on December 10 between 2 and 4. At 3:00 we get a phone call from "Bob" with a restricted phone number telling us he is the person who is supposed to be coming to attach the cushions and he is running very late. I convey to him that I'm annoyed however, I understand it's not his fault, just that this whole process has been unpleasant. He tells me that this job will take around 4 hours to complete and it shouldn't have been scheduled for that day to begin with, he reschedules with me directly over the phone for December 27 at 9:00 a.m. I then call Jeff and tell him how disappointed I am with this whole experience. He proceeds to tell me that I have a couch to sit on, he starts yelling at me and accuses me of threatening him and is acting like a completely deranged person. I hang up on him while he is in mid-yelling sentence. He tries to call back and I don't answer. It is now December 27 and no one shows up. I am not surprised, however, we call the store, identify ourselves and simply ask for the service number directly. We are given a number but no one answers, we are assuming to the holiday week. On Monday, January 2, we call the number again and speak to one of two individuals who handle the servicing of this store's business. Neither one is named Bob and this person never heard of us or our order number, which he shouldn't have because it's not the person who I initially spoke with. I call Klaussner directly and speak with a representative and tell her my story. She asks for the model number of the sectional and then tells me that that sectional was never meant to have the back cushions sewn on, and if it was done it wouldn't look right. If you choose do to business with these people chances are you won't be happy. That's just our story, I wish it were different and this was a positive posting. And, Jeff should know that, what goes around comes around. read more

If anyone is looking for a recliner or any sort of furniture stay away from sofa bed etc on route 110 in farmingdale, ny. The owner/ salesman will be very friendly And helpful when you place the order. Once you place your order and leave a deposit the drama begins. First problem is it will take you several weeks / months to receive the furniture. I ordered a electric love seat recliner that was guaranteed for life. Well after less then a 1-1/2 years the motor went on one side of recliner. Called Jeff, it took two weeks for someone to come look at it. Then another 3 weeks for the part and repair man to fix it. They come to repair it and the wrong parts were ordered. After several calls to Jeff I finally reached him. He was very rude and could care less about how dissatisfied I was with his attitude, the length of time to wait for repair and the quality of the recliner. As I write this my recliner is still not fixed and the parts office calked to tell me to deal with Jeff because he has to order the motor. He is a lier, unprofessional, rude and is a very poor customer service/salesman. He could care less about the customer and the aggravation the customer is put thru.
