Since the wedding was quickly approaching, we didn't get a chance to meet Brittany until the morning of our day. She seemed very friendly over email - but what if we didn't click? Would she understand what we wanted? I was nervous. The very moment Brittany and Esther (hand-selected by Brittany to be our second photographer) walked in, my fears were immediately put to rest. They were vibrant, happy and oh so warm and friendly! They went to work straight away, and without even asking... they somehow knew every shot I wanted as if they were reading my mind. I gave Brittany and Esther the hardest task of all: Try and coral all our wedding guests (about 90 people) after our ceremony for a group photo. This would be intimidating to anyone. My young nephews were losing steam QUICKLY and our guests were itching for the refreshing cocktails located just steps away. But somehow this impossible task was completed in only 10-15 minutes - and Brittany and Esther did everything under the sun to make sure everyone (especially my nephews) were laughing and smiling the whole time. We couldn't have been happier, and towards the end of the night Brittany and Esther felt like family. I can't imagine having anyone else with us on our day - so if you want to book photographers who will make life easier and give you dreamy photos, Brittany and Esther were the absolute dream team. Maybe it's just the time of year we came here, but this place was a madhouse. A MADHOUSE. We had…read moreour pictures done almost 45 minutes after our appointment time, had another group breathing down our necks because of the overcrowding, had to wait in line to change my baby's diaper and had people trying to open the door on me while I wiped her tush, and could barely get out the door because of the line of people. Insane, I tell you. INSANE. We had a better selection of shots taken at Target last year, and Target had a wider variety of backgrounds for poses, plus props. For how much more Picture People's prints cost, I expected the quality and organization to be better than Target, but instead we were taking our pictures in a space out in the open (they do have one in a separate room too) where the draft from outside blew on us every time the door opened. I was impressed with how soon we got our portraits and Christmas cards--we came back in 20 minutes to get them, and they looked fine. Unfortunately, the templates for the cards have mistakes in them, and I didn't notice that the one we picked contained an error until I already sent out some of my cards. It wasn't the custom text that has my family members' names or whatever you want to put there; it was the "Merry Christmas" in the template. It has no dot on the "i," and the "t" is not crossed. Do they seriously have no proofreader? How annoying! Maybe this place is good at a different time of year, but steer clear when it's busy unless you like long waits and sloppy work.

My family and I have never done a family photo shoot and we were excited to at least get one photo for a canvas. We had no idea how to pose or what to do. Miguel was the perfect photographer, especially for people who are not experienced in getting their photo taken. We love all of the poses that he suggested. He was so funny and personable which helped capture some really organic smiles and happy moments. We also included our puppy in the photo shoot and he did such a great job capturing our dog and getting her attention as well. What's included in the package is made unclear, so I never got what I expected. In addition, during the shoot he said that he could take my arm out if I had it on my kiddo and when I reminded him of this later, he said that was considered a complex edit and would cost money but they'd do it complmenetary that time. Had he told me this at the time of the shoot, we would have done something differently to get photos without me there in the background. Not cool.
