What a great selection of homemade wares, gifts, jewelry, and pet supplies. I had so much fun looking at all of the unique products that each vendor had. There was a large portion of jewelry, clothing and plants arranged out in a large warehouse. Being that this was the opening weekend, it wasn't too bad. I was expecting more produce choices as there were quite a few craft booths available. There's definitely room for more vendors though. And I'm really hoping more food trucks will make it out here as well. The only downside is parking. Not in regards to lack of but more on the side of the overall logistics of it. If you park in the back, the direction on either side of the building is one way and is only big enough to accomodate one vehicle. So if you come down one side and didn't know someone is coming your direction, one of you is gonna get screwed having to back up and let the other go. Then throw in that no one is paying attention to the one way signs because tbh, you don't necessarily see them in a clear area. Parking (especially in the back) seems to be a work in progress. A shell of an old hangar(?) is in the back and it's used as part of the parking area. Better four wheel your way through that. The restrooms are port-a-potties so if you have an affinity to avoid them like I do, then ya might wanna go before coming here. The back of the market also looks as though The Governor from The Walking Dead would have held a super secret meeting with Rick here. read more

As South town experiences immense growth, as exhibited by new dwellings and a sprawling art scene, so intensifies its reach to the rest of the city. With the addition of SoFlo Market to our community, among other events, South town becomes more relevant with each passing day and year. SoFlo is right across the way from The Fruteria on South Flores Street. Its a little makeshift market nestled in a building, When I heard the word open market I was expecting it to be outside. But instead it was indoors. There is some parking in the back but it is real limited. What I like is that when you go inside it is real cool, as they have fans blowing; set on high. So I see in the near future when it gets much warmer this will be gratefully appreciated, as it was today. All over the market there are various vendors with plants, recyclables, handcrafted glass items, prints, neat art pieces among other odd items. What I thought was nifty was that the vendors, who created the pieces were mingling with the patrons in attendance there. They would answer any questions you had and were more than happy to explain the process that went into some of their pieces. For example an artist talked about why he chose one style of shirts over another one for his prints. Another vendor explained how some metals are more pliable than others when displaying his awesome craft works. But mostly I was struck by the degree of the art and artists that were there. There was a vendor that shared the story of how it was their life's dream to become an artist and the SoFlo was a perfect vehicle to express and explore that possibility. The more I walked around I began to sense events, like First Friday were missing this vibe. There was music flowing and they had a food truck outside. It was alive! And people were searching for that print, that rare item that would add that extra kick to their place or office. Although it is a small space and you could probably surf the whole area in a matter of minutes, it made up with quality and art. I left with a few cool pieces and it did not bust my wallet. My only suggestion to you is to go early, especially now that the summer heat is fast approaching. And also because their parking is limited. My suggestion to them is to add more vendors, add one more food option, keep the music flowing more consistently and to be mindful of the parking space, as no doubt this event will surely grow. Yes, SoFlo's an idea that is in its introductory phase but in the coming months and years I see it becoming an even bigger event. And I see South town's influence in our city growing even wider, case and point; The Deco District. read more

Monthly pop up market with various local artisans selling hand crafted jewelry, paintings, vintage items, food vendors. Very hard to find and unique items; couple vendors can be commissioned to create something one of a kind. Wasn't too difficult to find parking couple hours after opening but coming early allows you to find treasures that are being sold from the flea market vendors. Some vendors are cash and some can take credit card, I did not see an ATM onsite so be prepared before you come! read more

I hate to write a three star review on SoFlo because the concept has so many possibilities that no one is really taking advantage of. Especially with the Southtown Farmer's Market being on a hiatus. The last couple months there have been fewer and fewer vendors. And not only fewer vendors but all that is left are vendors with basically the same selection of products. Ok, I love me some homemade jewelry but when almost all the vendors are jewelry it gets kind of obsolete. I love the "So Flo" area and what it is becoming. And the So Flo Market brings a nice outing every second Saturday of the month. They often have a food truck to satisfy your hunger and some of the artist that come through the market are spectacular. There is plenty of parking and the area is well shaded and enclosed for all types of weather. I am anticipating what So Flo has in it's future! read more

I simultaneously love and hate the "SoFlo" moniker, but I love what's going on here. 2nd Saturdays of the month, corresponding with the growing South Flores Art District's regular openings. This isn't just a farmer's market (Blue Star's got that covered Saturdays now); this is more an art market, even though you will likely find both. There were apparently less vendors in July than in the spring, but I imagine things will pick up when the heat starts to dip and summer festivals wind down. An ideal Second Saturday might start with brunch at The Fruteria across the street, a stroll through the market, then a visit to the galleries down the block. I hesitate to click Post because the South Flores area has been cool for a very long time.....it's just been quietly cool...which is the coolest, after all. But in the end, I applaud additions to the area, holding out hope the neighborhood's character is strong enough to withstand any trappings of fame. read more

I went there for the very first time as a vendor and my experience was horrible. First I think $50 is more than I would pay to set up anywhere. Hardly any people came and most were just browsing. What a waste of my time and money. Oh! Plus I had a business competitor approached me and harassed me. I reported it to the organizer, and her attitude was like, like " oh well too bad". I don't really frequent too many of these markets, but after seeing one of my fave local jewelry makers was at SoFlo, I trekked out to go purchase directly from the artist. I was impressed with the amount of parking SoFlo Market offers, and lots of signs to help patrons find their way around. There were a few food trucks around if you're hungry, but not a huge selection. The food trucks are under a cover, and the rest of the shops are inside too, so it was nice to be out of the direct sun. Still a bit hot, but not unbearable. A lot of the vendors inside were ones I recognized from Instagram, so that was neat to meet the actual artists behind the shops. My fave, of course, was A Tiny Little Triangle with all her cute jewelry! But we got quite a few Christmas gifts out of the way while at the market as well. Picked up some natural soy candles, as well as some other cute gifts. Definitely recommend stopping by, or checking out their social media so you know who to expect! read more

I came to SoFlo Market for a fiesta medal event with a friend. I normally don't frequent markets like these but what I did like is the structure and the coverage of shade along with the number of small business vendors. It's very family oriented and attracts lots of people. Forever Petals by Vee hosted a paper flower making class and it was awesome! It came out beautiful and enjoyed it very much. The outdoor market has a few food trucks to feed your tummy. It was complete with music. What I didn't like about the market was the parking they had. Spaces are not painted and it has a bunch of rubble. It's very compact and can be accident prone, if it hasn't already. Maybe I'll return if the parking lot is fixed. read more
