Visited again last night for a wee date night and again was not dissapointed at all. It was alot busier on this occassion and it didnt help that a massive party of aeound 20 arrived midway through our visit but credit to the staff they were polite and apologised for our slight wait for food and the bill. There is a still a huge variety of dishes to choose from on the gf menu and this time i had the creamy garlic mushroom fusilli which was yum! My bf had the steak and sausage burger and there was not a crumb left on the plate! We decided to share the strawberry sundae which was lovely but slightly dissapointing with the amount of strawberries in it. Overall it was a lovely night and i wont leave it so long next time to return.

    Black Pudding Starter - beautiful.

I was out for a day of shopping with my mum over the weekend and on the way back to the car she suggested popping in somewhere for food. She said her hairdresser had recommended SoHo so as we were walking past that way anyway we decided to go in. First impressions were fantastic. The warm woods and rustic decor made for an immediate friendly atmosphere. There were leather trimmed booths, cushions and fairylights draped around the entire restaurant space. It felt homey. We were greeted by a very pleasant member of staff and seated straight away. We must have arrived just at the right time because fast forward to just after our starter and the place was bustling. After having a glance at the menu I decided to go for their 2 course and a cocktail offer. At £15.95, with plenty of pizza and pasta options it was an amazing deal. I couldn't pass it up. I ordered a black pudding and apple starter and a Flaming Scotsman pizza, with a bellini to wash it down. I expected the food to be rustic to match with the very authentic feel and warmth of the restaurant. My starter arrived quickly and it was beautifully presented. It looked so appetising. A large slice of black pudding topped with a slice of baked bramley apple, served with a fritter, apple sauce and balsamic reduction. Black pudding is one of my favourite foods and the combination of flavours and textures with it were delicious. The balsamic reduction was incredible and went perfectly with the black pudding and apple. After the starter I suspect that our order was lost in the kitchen somewhere as we waited for over half an hour for our pizzas to arrive. I was honestly beginning to get the hangry head on after we had to ask where our food was (I hate doing this!) but the staff were very apologetic and our pizzas were brought straight out. I almost immediately forgave them. There were heaps of jalapenos and large chunks of haggis on my stone baked pizza. The helping of tomato sauce was just right too, just enough to taste. I can't go pizza sauce that's been ladled on "generously"... The base was lovely and thin, with a little hint of the smoke from the fire around the crust. The crust was a little thick for something ddescribed as a thin and crispy crust so by the end I was doing the unthinkable and LEAVING MY CRUST! All in all though it was a lovely pizza in a sensible portion for one person. With my hangry head now back in perspective our meal at SoHo was lovely. They offer up some delicious food and have a massive menu to choose from. I'd really love to come back and try some of their pasta dishes. SoHo are offering up good Italian flavours in a beautiful setting. It's a great place to grab a bite and spend some time chilling out.

The choice was between a more traditional Italian restaurant and Pizza Punks which had a little more of the grit and industrial nature that we associate Glasgow with. The reason for the low review is the pizza took an hour to arrive. We were excited to start the meal but around 30 minutes of waiting it started getting awkward and when we looked around at other tables that were there before us we also noticed them looking around for their food. It took so long some people started leaving and the only reason this is not a 1 star review is staff was very good and kept apologizing. They did knock off 10 percent off the bill which we really appreciated but we would have left if they told us at the beginning the kitchen was very far behind. The pizzas tasted OK, but we were also very very hungry by the time it came. I would have ordered more food but were terrified it would take too long so we left still hungry. Interior is very nice and surprisingly large. They had a DJ in the front room and a professional photographer was also there when we ate shooting the interior. It could have been a more interesting experience if it didn't take so long!

I'd had shrimp scampi pizza before and pizza with escargot many years ago and was surprised at how well seafood and pizza go together. The Frutti di Mare pizza from Almafi's was no exception. With calamari, mussels and king prawns topping a tomato sauce, mozzarella and Parmesan base, there was plenty of flavor. I happily devoured most of the pizza and was glad my hubby had filled up on onion rings so I didn't have to share more than a couple of slices. Loved the pizza so much, I made sure it was also the last thing I ate before departing Glasgow to fly back to Dublin. First pizza the dough was more puffy, which I preferred. The second one was a flatter dough but still delicious. This was likely because the pizza oven wasn't as hot or the dough had rested differently - the first one was in the evening and the second flatter one was just as they opened at 11:30am. Note that their signage refers to opening at noon, but their website and Google say 11:30.

So maybe it was ill advised that this was the exact time I chose to drag my other half to Sarti but I think I got away with it. The staff didn't seem to mind at all that we'd showed up so late and without a reservation. We were welcomed, seated and our drinks orders were taken (I was gently guided away from an inferior bottle of wine to a nicer one for the same price, which is always a nice touch). I ordered a mixed wild mushroom pizza while my partner went for the spaghetti bolognese and everything was absolutely delicious, fresh and perfectly prepared. I love a good mushroom pizza and this is one of the better ones I've tried in Glasgow. We briefly considered dessert but, being the last people in the restaurant this time, decided it would be better to save it for a time when we were more organised. We paid the bill and were invited to a small glass of limoncello with the staff before we left. My partner normally hates the stuff (although he likes lemons) but actually enjoyed this one, so there's another minor victory. I've visited Sarti before but with a large group and found everything to be great on that occasion too but it was quite a long time ago. It's good to know that they're still doing everything right. We'll be back soon and hopefully at a more reasonable time.

When we arrived we were suprised to see how posh it was (I'm so glad I wore a dress with my trainers) I felt a little undressed but did not feel looked down at by any of the staff. I was driving so did not get to enjoy the free drink. then came the canopies, they were beautiful to look at and tasted amazing, my favourite was the goats cheese tarts. The staff were fun and friendly, I think they liked us as we were having a laugh with them and they were soon coming straight to our table with the yummy treats. The restraunt is classic and grand looking, with the bar in the middle. The toilets are downstairs and you get to have a nosey into the kitchen on your way past. They had a live brass band playing lots of modern classics like Beyonce which was good fun. I will defo be visiting again to try the full menu and will be leaving the car at home so I can enjoy the cocktails.

Gusto is part of the Living Ventures group (Grill on the Corner, conveniently over the road from Gusto) and serves Italian food. The restaurant is beautiful, quite similar to Grill on the Corner actually with be classy dark timber, gold finishing a and lots of mood lighting. The restaurant is split into sections so you won't feel like you're in a huge space even though it's a generous-sized restaurant. There's a bar right in the middle which is nicely decorated with stained glass and a tasty selection of booze. Of course, it's Monday lunchtime so I'm not drinking. The menu has great non-alcoholic options like coolers for £4. I opted for a mint and strawberry cooler which was absolutely lush: the barman here clearly knows what he's doing. I'm going to have to return for cocktails! Onto the food. I went for baked gnocchi with a side of spinach. The gnocchi had nduja through it - quite a lot actually as it was pretty spicy! Not unbearable though and overall this was a really nice dish, good portion size and perfectly baked. The spinach wasn't quite as good and was quite watery, and some of the leaves needed their stems trimmed. Overall I enjoyed it here a lot. The service is warm and friendly, and Holly who was looking after the area I was seated in was great and really knew her stuff. I do have to say the front of house wasn't quite as good and seemed a little confused and unsure, but the place has just opened so that's no big deal. All up, I was really impressed with my lunch and I'll be back soon.
