I popped in here for lunch last week with the awesome Bex M to try out their food which I'd heard so much about. The restaurant is a pretty nice space with large comfy booths so you might forget there's even people sitting behind you (as I did a couple of times!). There is an express lunch menu of 2 courses for £7.95 which is hard to resist, but I actually didn't really fancy anything on it so ordered the gnocchi from the full menu. The waitress explained they've actually changed their menu and don't offer that anymore, so back to the express menu it was. I ordered the antipasti and the rigatoni alla matriciana (gluten free is an extra £1 I believe). I asked for them to come out together as I was super hungry. The food arrived after a short wait and the pasta was a super generous portion - so I probably didn't even need the starter. The antipasti had a large portion of olives and a fresh chunk of bread but I wasn't overly excited by the meats which were a bit bland. I did really enjoy the pasta though so that was nice - and the waitress happily lathered on the parmesan for me. The flavours were really nice and there was plenty of bacon and a good coating of sauce. The gluten free pasta was really tasty too and you'd never know it was GF. Service was helpful and friendly, and our waitress was really chatty and made sure we were well looked after. I'd definitely head back as the express menu is a really good price and you also have the option of ordering a baguette if you fancy something a little different from ususal Italian dishes. read more

Yummy pizza and quite interesting options for toppings. I had a Margherita - though I'd really just describe it as a cheese pizza - and my husband had the Flaming Scotsman (haggis & jalapeno). We both enjoyed our pizzas and the starters we chose. We were there as part of a large group and the service was very polite and responsive. Being in a location that is essentially a basement level means there is little phone coverage, but the restaurant offers free wifi so that's nice if you need to stay connected. Definitely a place to keep on my list for next time we find ourselves in Glasgow. read more

Visited again last night for a wee date night and again was not dissapointed at all. It was alot busier on this occassion and it didnt help that a massive party of aeound 20 arrived midway through our visit but credit to the staff they were polite and apologised for our slight wait for food and the bill. There is a still a huge variety of dishes to choose from on the gf menu and this time i had the creamy garlic mushroom fusilli which was yum! My bf had the steak and sausage burger and there was not a crumb left on the plate! We decided to share the strawberry sundae which was lovely but slightly dissapointing with the amount of strawberries in it. Overall it was a lovely night and i wont leave it so long next time to return. read more

I was out for a day of shopping with my mum over the weekend and on the way back to the car she suggested popping in somewhere for food. She said her hairdresser had recommended SoHo so as we were walking past that way anyway we decided to go in. First impressions were fantastic. The warm woods and rustic decor made for an immediate friendly atmosphere. There were leather trimmed booths, cushions and fairylights draped around the entire restaurant space. It felt homey. We were greeted by a very pleasant member of staff and seated straight away. We must have arrived just at the right time because fast forward to just after our starter and the place was bustling. After having a glance at the menu I decided to go for their 2 course and a cocktail offer. At £15.95, with plenty of pizza and pasta options it was an amazing deal. I couldn't pass it up. I ordered a black pudding and apple starter and a Flaming Scotsman pizza, with a bellini to wash it down. I expected the food to be rustic to match with the very authentic feel and warmth of the restaurant. My starter arrived quickly and it was beautifully presented. It looked so appetising. A large slice of black pudding topped with a slice of baked bramley apple, served with a fritter, apple sauce and balsamic reduction. Black pudding is one of my favourite foods and the combination of flavours and textures with it were delicious. The balsamic reduction was incredible and went perfectly with the black pudding and apple. After the starter I suspect that our order was lost in the kitchen somewhere as we waited for over half an hour for our pizzas to arrive. I was honestly beginning to get the hangry head on after we had to ask where our food was (I hate doing this!) but the staff were very apologetic and our pizzas were brought straight out. I almost immediately forgave them. There were heaps of jalapenos and large chunks of haggis on my stone baked pizza. The helping of tomato sauce was just right too, just enough to taste. I can't go pizza sauce that's been ladled on "generously"... The base was lovely and thin, with a little hint of the smoke from the fire around the crust. The crust was a little thick for something ddescribed as a thin and crispy crust so by the end I was doing the unthinkable and LEAVING MY CRUST! All in all though it was a lovely pizza in a sensible portion for one person. With my hangry head now back in perspective our meal at SoHo was lovely. They offer up some delicious food and have a massive menu to choose from. I'd really love to come back and try some of their pasta dishes. SoHo are offering up good Italian flavours in a beautiful setting. It's a great place to grab a bite and spend some time chilling out. read more

I'd walked past this restaurant so many times before, but last week Colin and I decided to go in for the first time to grab some dinner and I was pleasantly surprised. It's very quaint Italian inside, with candlelight and a rustic interior, and we had a lovely meal. They do a meal deal but there wasn't much choice on it so we went for the a la carte menu. After ordering my mushrooms on toast to begin with and struggling over ordering pizza or pasta, but eventually settling with pasta, our food was brought out to us swiftly and the staff were attentive to a good level without being annoying. The carbonara was rich and creamy like it should be and went down a treat! They have a good choice of wines as well to suit whatever it is you have to eat. Would definitely come back in here for dinner, a great place for dinner on a budget if you go for the dinner deal they have on. Lovely place! read more

For me, this place is all about the takeaway deal. For a measly £5 you can choose from a selection of pizzas, pastas and salads + a drink of your choice. It's great for when I'm craving a delish 'real' pizza, and not a generic dominos or something similar. The pizzas here used to be my favourite, and I would come at least once a week! Unfortunately about a year or so ago they changed kitchen staff and for some reason the pizzas arent as good as they once were, but it is still a great deal and I would definitely recommend trying them out (my favourite is the cajun chicken pizza - very tasty) I have also eaten in before, the place is always great and the staff really friendly. The cocktails are awesome and it's a great place to go for a relaxed meal with friends, for some great italian grub. In here today for a networking lunch. The networking was nice. The food and service were not. My starter (pate) was fine - it's hard to go wrong with a slice of pate & oatcakes - but the lettuce was limp, the underside of the plate was dirty (had to wipe the grease from my fingers with the napkin) and the service perfunctory. Oatcakes weren't anything special. Balsamic drizzle was fine, if a little dated, and the fruit jelly was nice. My main was really incredibly disappointing, and I left most of it. Mushroom linguine should taste of something other than grease. Scratch that, it should taste of *something*. I piled on the parmesan to see if it would make it any better, but no. Bland, tasteless. Sigh. Oh, and another dirty plate. We were a large group - 14 or so - and having worked in bars & restaurants I get it, large groups on a lunchtime can be difficult. But the place wasn't that busy, and there's no excuse for being dismissive and grumpy, or kicking up a fuss when a couple of people needed to pay by card. It's not that big a deal. Wiping the table between courses and clearing away glasses might be a plan too. Won't be going back, won't be recommending it. read more

I've been back here many times for cheap food and great cocktails The main reason why I returned was one night it was lashing it down and we ran in to the first drinkerie we saw - sat up at the bar and had a beautiful cocktail - a raspberry mule. Came back a few days later for a meal and had a pre-meal drink at the bar. I wanted the cocktail I had the night before but couldn't remember what it was called and couldn't see a menu. SoHo is an Italian restaurant in Glagow, not Soho London as the name would have you believe. Among friends, SoHo has been recounted to me as great for pizza and ok for pasta dishes. That was a bit vague for me, so I decided to have a look for myself. When I made an appearance at SoHo I had a pizza, nicely done. But most importantly I was pleased with the selection of cocktails that could accompany my thin crust. Ladies and Gentlemen, I may have found my new nibble zone. Just around the corner from the extortionate Corinthian Bar is an unassuming ultra cool place called Soho. And unlike the actual Soho, it's far less full of Transvestities, nippleclamp wearing bankers and people who work in Television. As soon as you walk in you are greeted with a lovely smell, a rather handsome and charming Matre' D and a large menu of scrummy cocktails. CHEAP COCKTAILS - an utter god send for the merchant city. They catered for a Party of ten of us and it was a lovely set mix and match menu. The food on the REAL menu looked even better. Tip for this place, RED WINE. They have a nice and not too extortionate selection. Also, make sure if it's a toss up between pizz and pasta. Go for PIZZA. You get alot more. The pasta is lovely,,,,but massive tubes mean it tasts like your eating air. So if you have the appitite of a sparrow Pasta. If you're a manly man, Pizza. If you're Chuck Norris - get the stake. A cool little old school Italian setting! 2 courses and a cocktail for £13.95? Bargain. I love the idea of going out for Italian food, I love pasta, pizza more pasta and more pizza all with a side of garlic bread but its hard to find a real good one! It restaurant it's self is tucked away down on Miller Street and the setting of the restaurant was cool as well. So on to the food, for starters I had oven baked black pudding which was nice but just served with rocket! Main meal I went for bolognese (maybe this was just a bad choice I keep making) it was bland! I wasn't awful but neither fantastic!! It such a shame as I love all pasta dishes. The service wasn't that great either, I asked for a glass of tap water 3 times and it never appeared I eventually gave up and asked for a coca cola! This thankfully turned up! I don't buy it.... given the number of stoopidly good reviews being bandied around about this place, i was expecting almost gourmet pizza to be served in a sexy like way... possibly with dancing horses, juggling aliens and midgets on stilts in the background.... what i/we got was average pizza served in a pleasant, but nowt much going on really, type way. Yip two courses for a shade under £9 quid is a tempting offer and if i'm being entirely honest, then the grub was alright. It's just that there was nothing there that made me think 'wow' that place really rocks. Grub- Average Service- Not bad, guy behind the bar had some good banter, but waiter left us for 15 mins at the end with nobody coming to offer final bill or drinks Location- Distinctly average... kinda lacking in any real identity. Popped in here for lunch with colleagues as they said the pizza was amazing. We decided to split 2 pizzas, chips and cheesy garlic bread between the three of us. All of the food came at once (would have been nice for bread to come first as we didn't end up eating it!) and the pizza was good. We polished off all of it but it was more than enough for lunch for us three and we probably over ate! They do have lunch specials and daily specials and we were in and out in under a hour. read more

We discovered SoHo after getting several recommendations from locals that we talked to. The atmosphere is hip casual and the menu is varied enough so that everyone in our group was able to find something they liked. We shared the meat plate antipasto and three of the four of us had the mussels, each of us ordering a different sauce from their many choices. I adore SoHo! It is everything a pizzeria should be, warm, friendly, relaxed and cosy. SoHo is a fantastic wee restaurant to meet up with friends you haven't seen in a while. You can order some yummy, decently priced food and then just sit, chill out and catch up on the gossip with a few cheeky cocktails. SoHo markets itself as a pizzeria/bar and while the pizzas are brilliant there are plenty of other delights on offer. I am a big fan of the tapas or small plates menu as it lets you try some delicious Italian dishes and gets you out of the pizza or pasta options rut! I'm not usually a fan of non Spanish tapas but SoHo executes it perfectly. There are always some great offers on at SoHo such as 2 courses and a cocktail for £12.95. They also serve gluten free pasta for all you gluten intolerant freaks out there! read more

The 2 course and a cocktail deal is excellent value and I have taken advantage of it several times. I find this place a bit of a mixed bag; sometimes I've had a really nice meal, but on occasion the pasta has been over cooked and/or a bit dry, as if it has been microwaved. However, it's good value for the money and I do keep going back. This place used to be Fixx II which was one of my favourite bars, mainly because of the great atmosphere and this place seems to have kept that vibe going. It is chilled out and lively all at the same time. Because it's usually busy it can be a bit noisy, so I wouldn't recommend it for a quiet, romantic meal, but I like the atmosphere a lot. The cocktails are good- I think I've probably tried the entire range now- and the bar staff are always friendly. Have never tried the a la carte menu but the 2 course deal is well worth trying. read more

As a first time visitor I really liked it here. The place was bursting at the seams and I've never been so glad that I'd had the foresight to book ahead! I don't usually bother but with a show to see later we were time sensitive and didn't want to hang about. We opted for the pre-theatre menu which was excellent value for money, and by booking via 5pm we bagged a free glass of whisky. Whats not to love about free anything! I had the arancini italian rice balls with dip and salad to start. The spicy dip added some welcome zing to the dish. I'd happily have them again. My pizza was a wee bit doughy in the middle, but the flavours were good. They offered parmesan for the pizza which is a nice touch, but obviously one to watch out for it you're strictly vegetarian. Soho is a really upbeat kinda place with oodles of character and some great music. Our waiters kept everything running smoothly and were a friendly bunch who clearly knew what they were doing. A real credit to Soho. Would I go back? Certainly. read more

The 'Flaming Scotsman' (Haggis and Chilli) is as fine a pizza as I've tasted in Scotland. Delicious, thin crunchy base and really creamy cheese topping. It can get loud at busy times but it's worth it for the food. read more

I would never have really noticed SoHo if someone hadn't told me about it. It's hidden away underneath Miller Street, only given away by a small sandwich board advertising it outside. The ambience inside the bar/restaurant is great. It's quite dark, with authentic music playing and the waiter told us to sit where we wanted as it was quite empty. We chose a booth, and perused the menu. The set menu is pretty good, 2 courses for £8.95, but the main menu was hard to resist. I stuck to the pre-theatre, and ordered the roasted sweet peppers on crusty bread, and my other half had the goats cheese. He totally raved about his, and mine was honestly one of the nicest starters I have ever had. There were loads of sweet red peppers, my absolute favourite, dressed in a tomato and herb sauce on top of crusty bread. Heavenly! I decided to order one of the pizzas from the menu, as I had heard they were fantastic. I am more of a deep pan girl, but it was nice, just not to my taste, but probably incredibly authentic. My boyfriend had a haggis and jalapeño pizza which I wasn't keen on at all! He loved it though. The bill was reasonable, and the meal was fab. Don't bother with this place.The waitresses were very friendly, but we had to wait at least 15 minutes for our drinks to arrive. When I went to the bar I was scolded by the bartender/manager and told to go back to my seat because he was busy(he was not serving customers, just chopping ice). I noticed the man at the table next to me also had to get up to check on his drink, as he sat without one for the entire time we were waiting. Mind you, there were only two people seated at the bar, it's not like he was swamped. We were not given the menus with the specials, so our small, fairly tasty pizza and drinks were very expensive. read more

Cosy with really great food and good veggie options. 5 of us went for the 2 courses at a superb price of £9.95 and ordered a bottle of Pinot Grigio plus a couple of beers. Wine and food were brilliant value. I had the wonderfully named Haggis Bon Bons as a starter and a to die for Spaghetti Carbonara as my main. Both were delish! Unfortunately the service was not so good which is why there are only three stars. We asked for water three times before it came and despite booking ahead we were still left waiting for our table for well over half an hour. We also had a pleasant enough but rather talkative and bossy waitress who seemed annoyed that we didnt know what we wanted right away. Had we been given menus to look at while we waited for 40 mins we may have been more prepared! Will be going back however, I'll just be sure to have plenty of time to spare. read more

You know, not half bad. My guy and I were out on a double date with some friends and wanted to go next door to Paesano, but decided to see if there were any open tables at SoHo as Paesano was packed out. We were in luck, they had a cancellation, so in we went. We'd never been here so it was all a new experience. It's down a level from the street which adds to the darkness of the place. It was dimly lit with fairy lights strewn about and that was about it. I didn't manage to even take any pictures as my (soon to be replaced) phone isn't very good with dimly lit places (notice a lot of blurry pictures I sometimes submit, oops). We were handed two menus, one was their a la carte menu and one was a set menu. The set menu was a great deal, two courses and a cocktail for £14.95 (three courses and a cocktail for £18.45) We all decided to go for the two courses and a cocktail deal. I ordered the Pear, Ginger and Raspberry mule for my cocktail which was quite refreshing and delicious. For my starter, I went with the Arancini rosso, which are risotto balls. They were quite dense and stodgy, but tasty none the less. As a main, I went with the Peking Duck pizza, which I split with my guy, who got the Pizza Stornoway which had black pudding on it. I had half of his pizza. Both pizzas, although not Paesanos in any way shape or form, were ok. The Peking Duck pizza was a little too sweet with all the sauce on it, which my guy loved. I quite liked the savoury aspect of his pizza so I had no problem devouring the half of his pizza he swapped for half of mine. For a starter, he ordered the bruschetta which was quite nice as well. I'm not sure how long this place has been around, but it's quite dark and at times creepy (the walk to the toilet for example). I believe my guy had said it was something previous but I don't recall what he said. I wouldn't necessarily rush back here for pizza, given the best pizza is right next door, but I wouldn't mind trying some of the other italian dishes. read more

If you are disabled don't bother going here. I am on crutches and went in here on Sunday afternoon with another 3 adults & was immediately told they were too busy & they wouldn't be able to serve us. As we turned to leave another group came in behind us who were asked if they'd like to wait, they'd be seated shortly. I was extremely disappointed with my first and last visit to Soho & neither myself nor my family & friends will visit again. I can however highly recommend brutti compadre in Virginia Court. The food is to die for, the surroundings are comfortable & stylish and the service was outstanding & very friendly. Don't touch Soho with a barge pole though. read more

I'm visiting Glasgow for the week and this was the first time in my entire trip that I felt like I was totally unwanted. I decided to go out for dinner and SoHo on Miller was right beside my hotel so it was the best option (only because the pizza place beside it was packed). There weren't many people so I figured it would be nice and quick. I was greeted right away and seated. I ordered a pizza and it came fairly quickly. It was burnt and so thin, it might as well have been cardboard. But I didn't complain; I ate it without any comment. Even if I wanted to say something, I wouldn't have had the chance because the waitress completely ignored me the entire time. I felt like because I was a solo diner, I wasn't as important as the other diners who were in groups of three and four. I guess she figured she was making more money off of them so they needed to stay happy. I didn't want to finish the pizza in one sitting so I planned on asking the waitress for a takeaway container the next time she came around...I sat there for nearly 15 minutes waiting for her to acknowledge me or even make eye contact so I could flag her down. Nope. She wanted nothing to do with me, it was like I was invisible. Eventually I guess she felt obligated to talk to me so I took the chance to ask for a container. She went and packed up my food and dropped it back off at my table and went back to serving the other customers. I figured, as I've come to expect from years of restaurant dining, that she would've dropped off my bill when she brought back my food. Again, no such luck. I figured maybe I'm missing something? Maybe I was supposed to pay at the bar and I look like a total idiot. Well, I did look like an idiot but only because I spent the next 5-10 mins trying to get the waitress' attention once again. Eventually she acknowledged me again and went to get my bill. Why didn't she do that in the first place?!? Typically if you ask for a takeaway, it indicates that you're ready to leave... Needless to say, I didn't leave a tip because she was awful. Unfortunately I needed her to break a £20 bill so that meant waiting some more. Bleh. I love this city. But when I come back, I definitely won't step foot in this place again! Beware this bar! read more

We popped in for a dinner on Saturday night - we waited for a wee bit at the bar for a table, and had a nice round of cocktails. We ordered from the 2 course & cocktail menu, the food was absolutely fine (it wasn't amazing but nae bad either). My rating is only low because unfortunately after we ordered food the 'live entertainment' started. It was a young dude with an electric guitar. He was also okay but unfortunately the music was SO LOUD we couldn't hear the person speaking next to us. It was so phenomenally loud we had to eat as quickly as we could to get out of the place. It was a shame as it meant our dinner was ruined. We asked if they could turn the volume down just a wee bit multiple times, but to no avail. We're all fans of music and happy with a good atmosphere, it was just unfortunately ear-drum bustingly loud. read more

Found this gem by accident after our restaurant of choice for dinner was very busy and we were very hungry! The restaurant was half full when we arrived but filled up quickly with it being a Friday night and its not difficult to understand why. Soho has a good mixture of booths and tables and laid out well to ensure there's plenty of room to move both where you're seated and when moving around the restaurant. There's a great menu that offers 2 courses and a cocktail for £14.95 until 8pm with about 6 or more options for each course and the same again for cocktail options, (including pizzas, burgers and pastas for mains) so there's something for everyone. Almost everyone at the table had pizzas, even adding a couple of toppings here and there which wasn't a problem and they were thoroughly enjoyed by all. Most of the starter options are quite sizable so some struggled to finish their mains. I opted for dessert instead of a starter and its my only complaint of the entire meal. I had apple pie and ice cream that I'm 99% sure was pre-bought and heated rather than being made on site. Again, this isn't unusual for a lot of restaurants but its always disappointing when the same effort that's put into a main course menu isn't also applied to the dessert menu. The staff were also excellent. Very friendly and attentive, making sure a glass didn't sit empty for long. read more

The food wasn't necessarily bad, but it took 45 minutes between our appetizer and main dish to come out. We also had to keep asking for water since no one brought any the first few times. Then it took forever to get the check after asking for it and at that point we really just wanted to leave. Just be prepared to wait a lot when coming here. I confirmed booking and was assured on 3 separate occasions with management staff that the table would be ready for our arrival. I bought balloons and various other decorations and offered to come in early to put them up but was told by management staff on these three separate occasions it would be no problem and that the staff would get the area ready for my mums special night. We arrived on time to find the area we were to be seated covered in dirty dishes and not one thing put up to indicate a birthday welcome as promised. We waited for half an hour and looked on as staff hastily cleaned the tables then blew up balloons and just left the decorations lying on he table. Already disheartened at the lacklustre and unorganised welcome we ordered drinks and food. All dishes arrived except mine so I had to sit and watch everyone else eating. When my meal finally did arrive 15 minutes later everyone else had finished eating which put me off so I left the meal uneaten. Soon after finishing our meal and giving my mum her cake we were asked to leave our table to accommodate new diners. We were offered an alternative table at the bar by the owner so in his words "we wouldn't feel we were being rushed out the door", that was fine but soon after this we were asked to leave this new table to accommodate someone else. We moved yet again to stand at the bar only to watch the diners who were accommodated after us being moved somewhere else and leaving the table we had moved from sitting empty. What was the point in that? Around £300 later I felt very unhappy at the way the whole evening had been handled I decided I would speak to the owner Michael who immediately dismissed me. His attitude being one of complete arrogance, ignorance and very very rude. He had the cheek to try and lie to me stating my mum had asked for the alternative table for one hour. When In fact my mum had never met let alone spoken to the man at any point in the evening. I brought my mum over to confirm this with Michael but he tried to lie and patronise her saying "remember I spoke to you", Sorry Michael but my mum might be 70 but she doesn't have dementia. What should have been a sympathetic and apologetic response from the owner turned out to be rude obnoxious and completely ignorant. He turned his back on me and my poor mum mid conversation and began dealing with new diners who were arriving. I said "excuse me I am still here", he then told me I had my table long enough and basically tough if I didn't like it so I asked what were we to do now after spending over £300 on food and drink just leave to which he replied yes! Utterly disgraceful customer service from an ignorant condescending rude man. Clearly he had overbooked. Had I been warned there was a possibility of not having the area ready as promised I wouldn't have bothered bringing the decorations down in the afternoon. We had offered to come later but were assured 4pm was ample time to have the table ready. Waiting for my meal and it's arrival after everyone else had finished eating was an oversight I would've been willing to forget but to have the owner speak to me like dirt on his shoe and then to lie about my mum who's 70'th birthday he ruined and also turned his back on in front of new customers was downright rude and unforgivable. I will never return to soho and neither will any of my family, friends or work colleagues. Do yourself a favour save your money. Go check the internet for loads of other customers on several different platforms who have also been at the receiving end of this horrible mans bad attitude before wasting your time and money here. There are hundreds of other diners who have experienced the same disgusting behaviour and rude replies from this nasty man. His comments are an absolute disgrace. Shocking customer service! We booked this as a special night for my mums 70th. Advertised as a fun, relaxed environment but I'd say it was more overcrowded, overbook, unprepared and harassed. We provided the venue with a few decorations to make the area special for my mums arrival. When we got there the table wasn't set up and we were made to wait and watch for 20 minutes as the staff quickly threw our decs on the table. Then before we had the chance to barely take our coats off and look at our menu we were asked to order. Everything then arrived in quick succession with no time to digest between each course (apart from one persons meal which they had forgotten about and was delivered to the table when everyone else in the party had finished eating). All night staff hovered around the table obviously trying to rush us on due to bookings running over, heaven forbid we wanted to finish our drinks! We were then moved to another table to finish our drinks then a few minutes in asked to move again. To add insult to injury, due to the constant harassment and moving our stuff around my sisters expensive handbag then had a hole burnt through it by one of the candles on the table. When my sister attempted to complain to the manager about the whole fiasco he merely ignored her continuing to serve arriving customers. Having spent £200 on the meal and another £100 on drinks the only feedback we got from the manager was to ask us to leave as he wasn't impressed that we had complained. Hardly the ambience for a woman's 70th birthday celebrations. The night was ruined from start to finish and not what we had at all anticipated as a special night for our mums birthday.
