It's California Mexican not high dining. The service was good, but that went out the window when it came time to pay. We had a gift card and was eager to use it. The waitress in her business as usual manner announced she was unable to take the gift card because they switched to a "new cashier point of purchase system" and that it would take a few days to get that function up and running. For a $100+ tab at the end of the night, we now had to pay out of pocket and come back on a future occasion to use the gift card. There are ways to check gift card values, but I wasn't in the mood to argue. The right thing for the restaurant to do was read the card on their web-based account and then take away that amount from the bill, then take the card (it's still money on their cash side). To add insult to injury they start their tip on the machine at 18%; greedy. Honour your own gift card, Mexi!

I found the chicken a bit too sweet, and it overpowered the other components of the bowl. Hubs had the Carné Taco dish and described it as Ok, nothing more. We did not see our waitress after she dropped off our food. This was eclipse day and they may have been overwhelmed. Eventually another woman showed up, to inquire how we were doing. Her customer service skills and engagement were a step up from the waitress. We paid and left.
