The bathroom was bigger than other entire hotel rooms. After heading up the marble stairs leading to our secluded, huge, charming room, I was continually blown away by the details and integrity of this amazing hotel. That bed? What dreams are made of. So cozy, so soft. The bedroom area had so much space, we each had what seemed like our own wing to organize our suitcases. The bathroom was literally on the other side of our entryway, through two sets of gorgeous wooden doors! A large standalone modern bathtub that fit not only myself, but also my 6'2 boyfriend. From the rain shower with the orange blossom scented bath bubbles, to the his and her slippers and hair dryer tucked inside the round hat box, I could have spent hours in the bathroom alone. But why would you? This hotel has an entire spa, IN A CAVE, in the basement. The grand prize is the salt water pool that extends into two rooms in which you can swim between. It's dotted with several shower like massage tools with different hot/cool water temperatures for the ultimate hydrotherapy experience. Beyond the way, several heated thermal spas, all different levels of heat, infrared saunas and showers. It's insane. Pictures don't do it justice. I would have spent over $100 to swim in this pool one morning, but of course, the price was included with our room. In the morning, complimentary brunch in the lush garden patio. So lush and floral. Your choice or take them all: jamon iberico and mahon queso with quince jam, homemade breads and cakes, gluten free granola, fresh squeezed orange juice and berries and soft scramble eggs with lox and capers, nothing was forgotten. I promise to return to this beautiful island one day and you can bet I'll be spending a week at this beautiful hotel.

It's not by any means a luxury resort, but the service provided by the hotel personnel is top notch. Clean rooms, a varied breakfast buffet, a decent pool area and the nicest beach of the Menorcan west coast is right outside the hotel door. The beach actually draws quite a few locals as well, but it still doesn't get too crowded. The restaurant on the ground floor with its patio towards the beach is open to everyone and offers remarkably good meals at sensible prices. Everything from sandwiches to main dishes and drinks is masterfully crafted, and the relaxed atmosphere makes your stay even more enjoyable. After trying out a handful of restaurants from Cala en Bosc to Ciutadella, we still ended up at the hotel restaurant most of the evenings - it simply stood out as the best of the bunch. The dedicated staff of the hotel work from early morning to early night to make your stay memorable and delightful, and I cannot recommend this hotel enough! P.S. Sa Barrera was very highly rated on Trip Advisor, so we decided to give it a shot. It's a wonderful boutique hotel in the sleepy village of Cala'n Porter, an easy 20 minute drive from the airport. The overall vibe was super mellow and peaceful. Perfect for couples (like us) looking to decompress from the big city. The room was a bit small, but very clean with a small balcony for two. I don't believe that there was an elevator. We seriously may have had the best room, in the top left in the photos on their website. Excellent view of the sea, but not the actual beach. The breakfast buffet was very, very nice. We sat out by the pool. Definitely loved the tortilla espanola. They will also make espresso-based coffee drinks to order, Americano in my case. Trip to the beach was either a long walk around the "front" entrance or about 150+ steps down from the hotel. We stayed for two nights. My only nitpick is the parking. There are only about six spaces on the side street where the main entrance is. If you get a spot, keep it. Street parking wasn't too bad even in peak season. Best restaurant close by was Lorengo.

What a beautiful hotel!…read more After the hustle a bustle of Barcelona, my family was more than ready to make our way to the island getaway portion of our trip. Artiem Audax was beautiful. It is located right, like literally right on Cala Galdana. The rooms were just the right size, even with three of us staying there. The bathrooms were very spacious and well stocked upon our arrival. Now Menorca (Minorca) is a very nature/outdoors oriented island and Audax was a prime location. As soon as you exit the hotel you can make your way to the beach (Cala Galdana) and it's about a two minute walk before you can get you feet in the beautiful blue waters. Then you can also head straight out the main entrance and meet a trail head that will take you around the outer portions of the island. It has some great views and photo ops! I believe it is part of the Cami de Cavalls. Audax is also situated very close to many restaurants and also a great little place that I rented a scooter at for a great day-venture!! This hotel featured a wonderful spa. Which my family was more than willing to partake on our last day there. Having never been to a spa before I was a little out of my element. But I would gladly go again! Over all I would have to say that if you are going to Spain, plan an island getaway, and stay at Artiem Audax. You won't be disappointed!!

Finding the hotel was somewhat difficult (be sure to call and get good directions the night before), but once there, it was glorious. Our room was huge and very modern with an incredibly comfortable bed. Loved the breakfast every morning that was complimentary, with delicious meats, cheeses, and fish. The pool was also beautiful and a big surprise. We seemed to be the only 2 people using it. The area is very lively and it was somewhat loud when sleeping at night, but truly this was an incredible hotel experience. And the price absolutely cannot be beat.
