If you show up late or do not even bother calling that you are running late, your trust is out the window! I missed 2 hours of work to meet Abraham at 7:30am because he could not meet me any other time. Of course I texted him at 7:50am - "Are you still interested in giving us an estimate? We had an appointment at 7:30am?" I get a response at 9:00am that 2 of his employees got in a car accident. I responded - If you can verify that - I will consider rescheduling. Abraham and his father Humberto built our coyote fence a few years ago and made a steel gate for us. It looks fantastic. We asked them to fence in another portion of our property this month. As before, they answered our call promptly and came out to give a bid. We needed a lower rail welded onto the existing horse fence before the poles could be attached and they did that essentially for free. Abraham's bid was a thousand dollars less than another reputable company's bid for about a hundred linear feet. They put us on the schedule for early May but had an opening last week and they finished the job already. The fence looks amazing. They were on time and very polite. They were also very accommodating, working around another contractor we had taking down our barn. I normally wouldn't have asked two crews to be working in the same space but they were fine. Sol o Alire constructed a block wall around our entire home. They were open to all of our ideas and they adapted quickly to accommodate our constant plan changes! The courtyard is beautiful and the gates they hand built, on site, are custom and beautiful. Abraham, his Dad, and crew were punctual, easy to work with, and kept their word. No surprises! I don't normally give reviews, but this seems a significant reason to. Things started off really well, and I had great hopes for a trustworthy company. I received an estimate almost immediately, then I had to continually initiate contact to get scheduled. Once scheduled, the guys were great at getting our retaining wall up. HOWEVER, I recommend consistent oversight of your project; which I unfortunately did not do. I "trusted the experts" to my detriment. I had a 20-30 foot tree close to the wall. The installers CUT all the roots of that tree on one side, diminishing stability of the tree, and adding to the total cost of the project. After the latest wind storm, my tree had nothing left to hold it up, and blew onto our house. When I contacted the company back (after then seeing the roots cut) there was immediate deflection and blame games - absolutely no accountability or willingness to work with me on damages. Unless you are willing to micromanage your project, you may want to look elsewhere. read more

We recently had our cinder-block wall raised by this company. They had a cancellation and was able to do the work ahead of the originally scheduled date. The main concern for most of us having work done is to have it done well and with professionalism. I can tell you that I was very impressed from start to finish. Called Sol O Alire Construction. "Abraham" answered but indicated he was driving, but said he'd return my call when he got to his destination. Still, he asked for basic information: I described the work I needed done (see above) and he assured me that the company could do this basic job. But, I didn't want him to talk on the phone while he was driving and before he hung up, he told me he'd call me once he got to where he was going. Even gave me a possible date of Oct 7 or thereabouts for the estimate! He did not call me back. I figured he just forgot. I called the next day in the morning and left a message. No response. This guy never even returned my call, even after talking with him over the phone and then after leaving a message the next day reminding him of our initial discussion and the Oct 7 possible date for the estimate. I've never heard from him again. Very disappointed. Very unprofessional. 24 hours later I made appointments with two other fencing companies to come by next week and give me an estimate. I told both of these companies about my experience with Sol O Alire and, sure enough, they confirmed that other customers of theirs described this same scenario. Words getting around Albuquerque: YOUR COMPANY IS GETTING A BAD REPUTATION and that's never good for business. Just saying. read more
