Instantly, Nyla was accessible; from the first moments of our conversation, I felt that I had synched with a trustworthy guide - someone who wasn't going to judge me, someone who didn't have her own agenda, someone who is truly at the service of her path and the ways that she can help facilitate health for others. Nyla was able to help me access parts of myself that I intuitively knew needed support and love, but wasn't able to help on my own. Our Intuitive Reading was thorough, holding, illuminating, and left me inspired and ready to continue on my journey. Nyla's abilities are sound and whole; I have worked with four energetic guides and can attest to her ability. In addition to her ability to tap energy and intuition, and to guide me in accessing it for myself, Nyla's personality and approach is thoughtful, generous, and anchored in wisdom. I left our Intuitive Reading session not only shifted and grounded, released and relieved, but also looking forward to booking future sessions. She is now a resource that I will call upon when I feel I need support in my future. I whole-heartedly have recommended her to my family and friends and feel strongly about recommending her to the greater community and world. Thank you Nyla for following your path so that you could help me follow mine!

Someone is in the room with me and paying attention to me, lightly touching me, nothing more ... so that helps me feel good and relaxed too. Is that what I paid for, someone to just sit quietly in the room with me for an hour? I did not know how she would work with the areas of my body where I wanted some healing and which I discussed with her first ... so after asking her, she said "the energy flows where it needs to, it knows where to go." I left feeling unsatisfied but without really knowing why, I couldn't quite put my finger on it. Later I realized that I felt offended that I had to fill out such a detailed medical intake form with such private information, which was for the most part, simply unnecessary because the energy "knows where to go" itself. Thus, my question would be, why did I have to reveal such personal medical information if it was essentially unnecessary to know. She's also not a medical practitioner, so why does she ask for all this personal info. I did not bother to contact the practitioner and have this conversation simply because I anticipate some airy-fairy answer about "energy" which will leave me feeling even less satisfied. I went because of all the amazing reviews on Groupon for this practitioner, but I don't see any amazing reviews on here, actually, none at all. Strange.

I emailed Lyne about joining the class as it was a pre-registered session. I was given the green light on the day itself. I didn't bring my yoga mat on this trip and told Lyne and she very kindly brought an extra mat for me. The studio also stocked other items for students to use - yoga blocks, blankets, pillows etc. The studio space was pretty cozy and warm. When Lyne led the chants, the sound reverberated and was quite soothing to the ears and body. The class was wonderful and Lyne was a star! She really checked on the students, ensuring we were doing the postures correctly and if we were ok. The session helped so much in releasing the tightness in the body. I really liked this type of restorative yoga which was gentle on the body. I had also attended a 3-hour yoga workshop conducted by Lyne at the Sechelt Aquatic Centre and it was equally great! Lyne was very knowledgeable and passionate about the body anatomy and passed on the information to the students so that we could better understand and visualize how each part of the body and muscles are connected. I highly recommend any class by Lyne at this studio. Parking is available in the small lot or by the street.

The owner of YBTS, Marney, teaches several classes during the week and on the weekend. She is…read moreusually late for every class she teaches by about 5-10 mins - rarely is she on time for a class. And the class always runs long so it's hard to schedule anything in when going to one of her classes. She's late so often that she's given some of her students keys to the studio so that they can open up, make tea, light candles, get music playing and welcome students - they're also expected to lay out her mat for her so she can just walk in when she finally gets there and sit down and start class. She has told the classes on many occassions that she "doesn't care" about being late and that she accepts that about herself - but what about those of us who work and have appointments? Marney has told us students many times, that the class she's teaching that day is what SHE needs to do, not what we might need, though she sometimes does take requests. The classes are often very slow and boring. She talks alot about herself and shares way too many personal things about her life, her ex-husband, her son - she doesn't seem to understand or respect personal boundaries of participants. She's offering Yoga Teacher Training for the first time. I heard that the 3rd weekend of training, she left her students to go work as a Doula for 2 days - she told her students to teach themselves different yoga postures and then teach each other a class one morning without any guidance from her. Other teachers at YBTS are wonderful - Jools leads a very active class and is wonderful, Lyne has a beautiful class, Edie is radient and lovely, Nicola is fantastic. The workshops used to be much better - now they're repetitive and boring. She's not getting good, vibrant people into the studio for interesting workshops. I'm voting with my feet and won't be back.
