During the tour, I saw a handful of dolphins, which made it worth it. I have two complaints about the experience. First, the tour was way too crowded. I had gone on this tour once in the past, and there were about ten people on the boat. This time around, there were 32 people. This made it incredibly difficult to move around the boat to try and spot dolphins. Moreover, all of us were practically sitting on top of one another. The bench seating couldn't accommodate all of us. My other issue with this tour was the lack of shade. Only the back third of the boat was covered, so sitting in the front was incredibly hot. Most of the other pontoon boats we passed were shaded completely. If you're going to go on this dolphin tour, I'd recommend going earlier in the morning. My 10:00 a.m. tour was far too hot and far too crowded. Also, I'd suggest that you wear sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, and clothing that covers your shoulders. If not, prepare to get some sunburn. A full bottle of water or two is also a necessity. Finally, make sure you bring some cash along to tip the captain and first mate.

Sarah, an environmental studies intern, handled the docking ropes and refreshment sales. We did see several dolphins early in the cruise. The group of dolphins included a very young one. The cruise is not just about dolphins. We also got a close up look a a mangrove island that is home assorted species of water birds, including pelicans and cormorants. Onboard refreshments are available. The assortment includes a couple of beers, hard seltzer and lemonade, some non-alcoholic beverages, and bagged snacks like crisps. Will go again on this cruise when we are in the area.

The restroom was on the lower level and those steps looked treacherous. Even for me. I was glad I went beforehand. The boat did do a lot of rocking so you have to be very careful. His first mate was helpful in getting everything for everyone. This was very affordable and definitely worth the price. Parking can be a challenge so I recommend paying to park. So that you won't miss the boat. We departed at 1pm. The ride was a total of ninety minutes. Highly recommend. Hold on to your hats and get ready for a good time.

I had high hopes for our dolphin tour after having a very nice and informative call with Ginger…read more When it comes to stuff like this I always value honesty and the sense that I'm not getting nickel-and-dimed. I didn't get that sense at all. We were a bit skeptical about doing a tour but we came to the Gulf mostly to see dolphins so we thought it would be worth it. However when we got there that image kind of crumbled. It was run by a few young guys who seemed to make things more disorganized than it needed to be. We would wait among the chaos for our turn and twice one of the guys would call us up to help us and then immediately turn to another guest to help them. It didn't help that the clientele was a bit rough and annoying. Anyway I still had high hopes. Our tour guide was nice, and in fact I had a good time riding the jetski! However when it ended abruptly, I just felt horrible. That anticipation for seeing some wildlife came to a halt. And throughout the trip it was just a cluster! No one following the rules, many being kicked off their jet skis, kids driving who didn't pass their test..And our tour guide never once pulled us over to tell us anything about the nature! They sold this as a dolphin and ecology-focused tour but we got absolutely nothing of the sort. We didn't see a single dolphin and at no point did our tour guide ever even say the word dolphin or act like we were stopping to look for any. At the end I was expecting some kind of explanation or last words, but we were just told to ride in and our tour guide just disappeared. I understand you can't always control nature but they keep saying it's VERY unusual to not see dolphins - well not when your guide doesn't make an effort!!
