This is the first time I've ever had a hot stone so I didn't know what to expect. This is the part o wasn't ready for. The next day I was in pain. The masseuse who was working on me, seemed like he was fairly new and although those was the sweetest massage, she was doing deep tissue, impressing very hard on my back. my daughter booked our massages there as a birthday gift to me. We arrived and a man and a woman were standing outside smoking cigarette. When my daughter said we were there 730 appointments they ran into the building. As we got out of the car heading in, the man came back out and told us we had to come another day. Keep in mind, she called to confirm hours beforehand. We have busy schedules and we work hard for our money. We don't have time to drive 40 minutes to be rejected after prepaying ($140 on Groupon) for services. We are still trying to get a refund but it is proving to be pretty difficult read more

I have good and bad reviews. First the location is downstairs in the lower level of a business establishment. Which I didn't have a problem with it was just a little strange. They take you in a room tell you to take you clothes off and lay on table. I'm glad I was with my husband because I would have felt uncomfortable. The massage therapist starts from your neck area down to your toes. First I must have gotten the deep tissue massage because it was intense, he really digs down in your upper back area, at one point it began to hurt but maybe I was tense because he stayed in that area a long time. He brings out these hot ass stones and puts it on your back without any warning, I wanted to scream because it felt like he just got them out of the microwave, but my skin adjusted the to the heat, so I took the pain, but he did ask if it was okay after he put the stones on my skin. Another thing is your head is face down and you can't see anything but the smell of maple syrup from the open in the table, so I don't know if that was the intention or someone before me had pancakes. On a positive note the massage was relaxing at times, I wish he would have concentrated more on my legs, feet, and shoulder area, instead of deep pressure on my back. Lastly when it's time to check out, they will ask you for a tip, I was going to give 10 dollars and the guy said, 20 dollars since it was a couples massage. My husband was mad because it seemed as if he was demanding 20 dollars. Another last comment I woke up today feeling like someone punched me in my back, because of the deep massage I received or could have been the Hot stones. first of all, I drove 30 minutes to get here after making an appointment a month in advance. it was my valentine present to my husband and our one night with a baby sitter. we got there and someone rudely asked if we had an appointment and gave us a crazy look like we were not suppose to be there. Sat there and made me looo through her cellphone to find my phone number of when I called to make the appointment and proceeded to say they didn't have me down and couldn't do it. told me I could reschedule & they would add on a $5 service for free. After spending all my gas driving there for nothing and wasting an hour of my time. Very unprofessional people. my husband called back to tell them the date I called because I couldn't remember so I looked through my call logs on the way back and she blamed it on "a man" that was working when I called.. but I literally talked to her on the phone. should have known this place was bogus when the didn't even ask for a name when I did "make an appointment ". that being said Valentine's Day was ruined and my post partum self cried the whole way home. Also bought through groupon and my only option was groupon credit as a refund so I'm stilll out money that I didn't really have to splurge in the first place and probably never will get back. read more

I purchased the Groupon deal, couples massage. Called on Jan 10 to see about setting up my appointment for Feb 15 since that's a holiday weekend. The lady said ok, call me the day before to confirm you are still coming. No problem. On Jan 15 the lady calls me to confirm if I'm still coming today. I'm puzzled and concerned and remind her that my appointment is for Feb 15 not Jan 15. I reiterated that it's a holiday weekend, will this be a problem. She said that is ok, call me the day before to confirm. I called two days before on the 13th only to be told that she's all booked up. WTH. She offered me to come in later in Sat or Sunday. No ma'am I made my appt with you last month why am I being inconvenienced. She "supposedly" called the person who was in my time slot to see if they're willing to change their time. Obviously not because when she called back she kept offering me later Sat or Sunday. Again, I did not feel as though I should change the rest of my holiday weekend plans for this lady who did not care to write down my appointment - not once but twice. Then she gets mad because I'm not budging, starts to ask me have I paid, how did you pay and that her paying customers come first. Wow. At that point I just hung up. Received my credit back from Groupon. There's no way I want to spend my money with this lady. I hear nothing but good reviews but after my incident I'll take my money elsewhere. read more

I would give zero stars if I could. Last week I called Solace Spa and asked them about the Groupon. They told me not to buy it and to just come in pay them. I explained I already had purchased it. They acted upset and told me if I wanted a full body with oil that I had to pay an upgrade fee of $10.00, which I agreed, but I was a little put off by the conversation so I said I'd call them another time and book the appointment. I called them today and made an appointment and went in. I told her I had this Groupon and that I would pay the $10.00 to upgrade to full body. Then for what seemed like forever, she chastised me over and over for purchasing my Groupon and told they do not accept them on the weekends because they are too busy and it does not make them money. Then bizarrely, lady said she recognized me from a different massage location and told me that "I should know better". I was speechless and appalled. The location she recognized me from was another placed she said she worked at, I have not been to that other place, that has a completely different name btw, in over 2 years and I only went their a couple of times. It was extremely hard for me to even think this lady knew me. I was literally baffled. I did not know this woman and she was guilt-tripping me for using a coupon that they legitimately offered. I asked why she was treating me this way and why they didn't just tell me about not accepting Groupons on the weekends when I called. I explained again again that I had never been to this location. I was so embarrassed and completely horrified that I just left because I could not handle the confrontation. Why do businesses use Groupon if it doesn't benefit them and why do they punish their potential customers for taking advantage of it? I will never go back there. I found out about this Spa from a friend. Very quiet, attractive, nice beds and décor. The massage was the best one I have ever had. The hot stone were the bomb! Appointment is best as it is a smaller operation and I didn't want to wait. 1 hour later I could not believe how good I felt! The licensed therapist lady who did my massage new her stuff. This is a licensed business in Indianapolis which many are not. This is my new place to come full time now!, I recommend this Solace Spa of Indy to everyone.
